“The Tyra Banks Show” has been nominated for a PRISM Media Award in the “Outstanding Talk Show Episode” category. The PRISM Awards honor productions that are not only powerfully entertaining, but realistically show substance abuse and addiction, as well as mental health issues. The award winners will be announced on April 23, 2009.

Tyra to receive special honor at 20th annual GLAAD Media Awards
Tyra Banks is receiving a special prize at the 20th annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation award ceremony for Excellence in Media. GLAAD President Neil Giuliano says Tyra and fellow honoree Suze Orman used their positions of power within the media to become strong advocates on behalf of the LGBT community. They are changing hearts and minds, opening people's eyes to our common humanity, and it is our privilege to honor them." Adding to this special honor, “The Tyra Banks Show” is nominated three times in the “Outstanding Talk Show” episode category for the representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

Tyra has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Talk series”! The ceremony honors outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts and those who promote social justice through their creative projects. The Awards Ceremony airs Thursday, February 12th at 8pm on FOX.
