Racism, homophobia, and now sizeism?
From race to sexuality, discrimination is unfortunately prevalent in society. Times might be a-changing, and with change comes progress, but with every two steps forward, it can be sometimes be one step back. Weight seems to be the last accepted form of discrimination -- and these guests are sharing their very real opinions of people... all based on size.

Final thoughts from a Fit Girl graduate!
Well, unfortunately the time has come, my fine fit folks. I will be bidding you all adieu as this is my last "Fit Girl" installation. Now, now folks, dry your tears, this is only the beginning! But like any good graduation ceremony, I shall reflect on what I've learned and look only towards the future. Even if I'm not exactly where I want to be, I've definitely learned a whole lot along the way.

My exercise schedule has been slip-sliding away, HELP!
The past couple of weeks, things have been looking pretty grim for this Fit Girl. My eating habits have slipped and the gym is just a distant memory now. While my waistline isn't getting any less chubby, my excuses as to why I can't get it together are running thin. The parties are over, the cake's been eaten and there are no more celebratory cocktails to be toasted with. With the marathon of birthday celebrations mostly out of my bleach-blonde hair, it's time for me to get back on track.
Please, Fit Girl friends, help me!

A not-so-great cupcake fate.
It's funny how the holidays change with age. For me, Christmas used to be a magical time filled with visits from Santa, family fun and of course hoards and hoards of goodies. It took forever to arrive and was gone in an instant. Now Christmas is an exasperating experience that sneaks up on me in a flash, hits me like a ton of bricks and empties my purse faster than you can say "ho, ho, ho." Then the onslaught of "events" feels never ending and by the completion of this whole ordeal I'm a good five pounds heavier.

Sure, you want to get in to shape and you've probably made plenty of promises to yourself about how to do it too. But somehow, when it comes time to step on that treadmill or cook that healthy meal, you're too weary from your marathon day.
You're not alone!
We all have our long days and who wants to be rewarded for their hard day's work with a grueling exercise hour? A work-out promise is great but if life is getting in the way of getting on track, all the promises in the world don't amount to much.

Celebrating milestones with a carb-fest, sugar-overload.
I swear, "Pomp and Circumstance" gets me every time. Maybe it's the bright eyed vision of youth standing on the brink of their lifetimes, maybe the promise of college misadventures or finally, finally meeting the "real world." Mostly I just think it's the food.
