Reading these comments about teens wanting or planning to get pregnant shocks me! I have seen many shows talk to teens, including the Tyra Show, about teen pregnancy. I do believe mental state is the primary focus to address why teens have these needs, but I think they need to be better educated as well. I believe if they know what the woman's body goes through in order to have a healthy pregnancy, as well as post partum care, and what it takes to ensure one's child is developing as healthy as possible they may think twice about wanting to become pregnant. I am a nursing student and I recently learned about ante-partum, post-partum, and newborn care and I know I am not prepared to deal with that at this point in my life (I am 26). It is not glamorous like in the movies, and it is a life changing decision that requires more maturity than anyone has in high school. Educate yourself before you make such a big decision.

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is also 18 alomst 19. We have been together for almost a year, and we have a sex unprotected all the time. We thought we had a pregnancy scare, but surpisingly we arent. I am kinda really looking forward to having a baby, and my boyfriend is looking forward to it too. We both know it will work if we have a baby now because we both have 2 jobs, and graduating this year. We arent trying to get pregnant but we arent not trying to prevent it but after 2 months of unprotected sex we still arent. I think girls now a days just wanna grow up, cause i know i just want to grow up and have my own family.

Hey I just had my first baby boy and I am 20. But my little brother is turning 15 and has a baby boy that is 1 year old and it is a mess with the courts and the problems with the mother. girls think the men are going to be there for them through everything but the truth is it won't last forever in my brothers case he wa the one who wanted to stay in the relationship and the mother wanted out. I am married and was maried when I got pregnant and even than my husband was not sure if he wanted to stay girls need to live their life it is not easy and it is not cheap at all!!!

some girls get fooled by there boyfriend. I think the reason why most young teen girls are getting pregnat at young ages is because theyre having careless sex without thibking of the consquences. Now a days people just want to get "right to it" i guess u can say. Most girls beleive they wont get pregnant by having unprotected sex but you never now, i have friends that got pregnant due to these reasons.
im britany im not a teen mom but i miscarried at the age of 14. and have even tried getting pregnant since then. im not ashamed because i know that if im old enough to have sex im old enough to take care of the responsibilities it wouldnt b easy but if my worthless mom can do it so can i... but i wont do drugs in the process!
