Thank you for giving such a respectful audience to Faya, the religious Jewish woman who spoke about the "laws of family purity". I think it would surprise many people to know that religious [married] Jews have fabulous sex lives!! Imagine how wonderful it is for the couple to reunite physically after 2 weeks of not touching at all. This is what keeps our marriages fresh and exciting. Thank you again for giving Faya a voice on the show. It was beautiful.

I actually really wanted to see this show, so does anyone know where I can find videos of it? I was never educated about these things, so they always interest me. And I've seen people wondering about what's normal, so the only info I can offer is this: other than genetics, the age when you hit puberty is affected by what you eat. The growth hormones in meats and milk are making some girls start when they're 8 or 9. The only problem I've heard for this is that it's really awkward to be getting into something that young, but I don't know of any health problems. And for things that are seriously irregular, I doubt it's a health problem you need to worry about until you try to have kids, when it will likely prove a problem. But there's research everywhere on the Internet, if you just know how to look for it.

hi Tyra well I started my period when I was 10.The first year it came every month but after that it would skip a month or two.During my sophomore year in high school it went from skipping 2 months to 4 .. and then my junior year in high school it skipped 6 months so I only got my period twice and my senior year too... this past year (freshman in college)it didnt come for almost a year and it barely came in july and august but it lasted 3 weeks the first time and a week and a half the second time...I just want to know if that is normal and if it isn't which I'm sure its not what can I do?

talk about cups! tampons didn't work for me and they are much better for the earth

Wow reading these I feel so awkward. I started my period when I was barely 9 years old and have severe pain during and even off my period since I was 9! My mother's family says it's normal and they all have it but I learned my grandmother at an early age had to have her uterus removed because of this pain and passing huge blood clots! I'm 21 and terrified I'll have the same problem before I even have a child. The pain is tremendous and disabling at times. When I was in the Army it would kick in so bad I couldn't even run! I have been told to be checked for endometriosis but can't even go see a doctor because I won't stop bleeding and passing these blood clots as of late! I was told any pain like cramping during your period isn't even normal. I just feel crazy because I don't stop bleeding and my problems with this started way before anyone in my family or anyone I know did and as of late I've begun to think it may be due to being molested and raped at a young age. Seeing that people here are saying they didn't start until like 13 and up I feel even more strangely. Weird!

HI TYRA!I'am a Jr in High School and I am sixtenn yrs old. When I got my first period in June of this year, but then the last four months I have not gotten my period.Any ideas why?HELP PLEASE!:(

Hey Tyra. I didnt start my period until i was 16 and the only reason i started wwas because the doctor put me on birth control. I was really shy and at school i would pretend like the other girls that i hung out with at school and say "oh yeah i have to change my tampon to." they would say "who taught you to use them" and i would reply "my aunt" i finally told them that i didnt have my period till i was 16 and i found out that other people at school didnt start until late to. Your show gave me alot of information. I watched it with my grandmother and we started to talk about it. Your show made it less uncomfortable to talk about it. Thanks so much.
