My message broke up here is the rest: Do we really need to blame some other group for our financial problems? How about demanding from the government RESPONSIBLE spending ON ITS CITIZENS and not on unnecessary programs? How about we focus on our problems in our own backyard? 9% of government spending is in Transfer payments. Of that 9%, 33% of it is spent on healthcare. How much of that 33% is spent on Obese individuals? Sadly, I do not know this answer. But I can assure you that it is not the Entire 33% because the govt spends on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, County and General hospitals, etc. But, can we see the danger in throwing out numbers without complete and accurate data? Please let us be more responsible with our statistics, SeƱorita Guerra, por favor. Finally - and I acknowledge that my post seems to be all over the place, but I confess that I was quite upset with the huge bias in this episode, no pun intended - why preface a damaging statistic with a statement that you, Ms. Guerra and Tyra Banks volunteer in various organizations that allow women to CHOOSE to be big and beautiful, when your goal OBVIOUSLY is to have women NOT BE BIG? A bit contradictory, wouldn't you say? I apologize for the lack of structure in my post, but please let us not create more hatred and intolerance in our already fragile and sensitive society. PUNTO FINAL!

I have a comment in regards to this show. The one that aired on August 10th. I have frequently seen the Tyra Banks show, and was not revolted by them. Unfortunately, on this day, that was not the case. We have all seen on various shows the discrimination and loathe that exists against obese individuals. Why add fuel to the fire? I am familiar with the statistics that Ms. Guerra used on the show. I am referring to the cost associated with the medical care of obese individuals. These statistics were released by the Center of Disease Control. The CDC however, fails to mention that a vast MAJORITY of obese individuals pay for their OWN healthcare costs, NOT US Tax payers. If the US Govt were paying for ALL of these individuals healthcare costs, that would imply, nay, STATE, that we in the US have a GREAT Health care System that provides for us, one and all. We all know, KNOW, this is not the case. Proof positive of this is the tax initiative on unhealthy foods. Though there is still debate and uncertainty how this would work, "the added revenue would still be $356 billion over 10 years. That would pay for a lot of healthcare reform, which some have estimated will cost as much as $1 trillion to implement over the next ten years" (Tough love for fat people: Tax their food to pay for healthcare July 27, 2009. LA TImes). As you can see, it is all very complex and can not and SHOULD NOT be boiled down to a very simple statement as the one Ms. Guerra made on the show that adds fuel to the fire! That would increase the intolerance for anyone who is not "thin enough" in society's view. Do we really need
