We know this show had to get you going!

Tell us: what do you think about the pregnant prostitute? Is she wrong for what she's doing or is she perfectly entitled to do whatever she wants to provide financially for her child?

NEXT: Do You Follow a Code?

Wow, after watching this show I thought I was the only one that felt that Tyra was too judgmental. I am glad to see that I was not the only one to feel this way. Do I agree with her decision? No I do not, but I am not pregnant. So I have absolutely no idea what she was going through. I hate it when people state what you are doing wrong, how about provide some suggestions on what you can do to correct it? Not once were there any suggestions as far as options for this young lady. People constantly said "You have other options." What are they? Give her some. I just truly felt bad for Alana. She was already emotional about her decision, but I think being on this show may have made it worse for her. :(

Michelle you have it backwards, according to what Alana said, her family dropped her because she was pregnant before she turned to prostitution. Also Alana wants to keep her house, which she could not do on welfare. She cannot get welfare as long as she has a house or owns anything of value.

does anyone remember the City High song "What would you do"? no one ever knows what kind of decisions they will make in circumstances like these. do not judge before you are in their position.

I agree with Tyra I don't think she was hard on her , I'm pretty sure Tyra gave her more information on how to get more help , her pimp didn't really care for her he cared for the money she brought in and most guys were choosing her so his sales went up , there are so many options her family dropped out of the picture because she choose to be a prostitute , she wasn't thinking about her baby's safety with all those guys . It's better to go on welfare because they are there to help get you some education , ect it was only for a little while there are people that are on it that don't deserve it and Alana and her baby do , and I hope she gets the help she needs , God bless her and her Baby

I do not feel any judgment about Alana becoming a prostitute when she was pregnant, even though for myself, I would literally starve to death before I would have sex for money. For me I could not do it, but I do not judge other women who do turn to prostitution, whether pregnant or not. I think Tyra concentrated too much on the excuse of money and did not pay enough attention to Alana being abandoned by her family. I think most women who become prostitutes, do it because their family abandoned them for any reason. Also I think Tyra should have been harder on the father of Alana’s baby, he is total slime, getting multiple young girls pregnant and not taking any responsibility for any of his babies and still living at home with mommy. A total creep. The lady in the audience who tried to equate herself with Alana is not the same, first of all she did not say her family won’t have anything to do with her, just they won’t help with money and she is older and has been on her own in the world much longer so feels more secure in taking care of herself and has taken care of her first children for ten years and therefore is secure in knowing she can take care of her children. A lot of first time mother’s feel insecure about their ability to take care of their baby, even when they are married, the father is supportive and her family is supportive. It is scary the first time, especially for someone so young. I do think Alana made her decision more on feeling alone, abandoned and insecure than she did for money. Also I was wondering what type of work she did before she was pregnant

What gave you the right to crucify Alana? My Gawd, Tyra, you attacked this poor girl The only reason she cried on your show was because of YOU. Alana is ashamed of what she does, but you didn't need to dig the hole for her and throw in the first shovel full of dirt on her. I thought you were a better person than what I saw on that show. You not only owe her a respectful apology but your whole audience, whether it be on a show, but to the whole world that watches your daily show. My gosh, you were so out of line and out of your element. What did you do?.......Wake up on the wrong side of your lavish bed and have a bad hair day? Someday, it'd be nice to see you with your own hair and be real. You've shown you're now a complete fake..mentally, physically, and spiritually. You did a very hurtful thing to Alana. I hope your ratings go down and someday get bashed yourself Little Miss Perfect.

I really disagree with the fact that this girl became a prostitute but instead of judging her tyra and saying things like "you have so many options?"WHY DIDNT YOU SUGGEST ANY!! Offer her places to go maybe instead of saying its wrong and there are so many other options. stop comparing her to your mom and your hardships this show was to show what she was going through and to show the world not for us to hear you rag on her. I love you Tyra but no one cares that you are a woman/host/ex model. You have a rotten attitude. I really believe you should remention your real intentions on your show because you gave 3000+ people the wrong idea about you. FIX IT!and apologize

I could not believe how Ignorant your comments were, Tyra. My jaw was pretty much dropped the whole time. I would love to have been in the audience,I may have been the only one who actually take her side. You had said that your father left your mother when you were 7 and that your mom had to work 2 jobs. May I remind you that your mother was not pregnant therefore she was more than able to work two jobs. This girl is pregnant they don't have many options when it comes to work. As a mother myself I would do whatever I needed to do to provide a good life for her. We all have done things that we are not proud of and yes this may be an extreme measure but it's a choice she made. And I'm sure it was not easy either. Someone had suggested adoption...omg really?! She wanted to be a mother and thats exactly what she will be and her family wasn't there for her before she decided to go to the BR. Dennis is right going to school doesn't pay your bills. If I was a single mother and had no family support and my dughters dad lived with mommy, I would do whatever I needed to do for her. Sign me up at the Bunny Ranch. Yes they are prostitutes and I will say that they are. But are you saying that her profession makes her terrible person? And i'm sorry but this will not increase the chances of her daughter being a prostitute. She isn't doing it because it was her dream to be one. And when her daughter is all grown up she will understand what her mother did for her, in order for her to have a good

Wow, first of all, this is a really sad story, though it does sicken me somewhat. But, I thought you were awfully hard on her! She was obviously hurt and in turmoil about the whole situation. She made a choice, though a very bad one, and her natural instinct is going to be to stand up for herself, she really didn't need such an iconic person putting her down on national tv. It almost seemed as if Tyra wanted to evoke some terrific reaction from Alanna, to the point of breakdown, wailing and crying, begging forgiveness and another chance. It sucks that she even thought of this as a way to help her situation. Its actually an pretty accurate reflection of a large part of what society does accept, even encourages! There's a reason that the Bunny Ranch has become more and more popular in recent years. The entertainment industry, somehow, supports this type of behavior. Society craves sex, drugs, the party atmosphere. Pornography is a huge industry that is supported by millions of people. I have used it some, many others delve much deeper into it. Many people judge others on what they accept yet turn their back on their own habits, addictions and weaknesses. The fact that Alanna saw this as such a good opportunity to make some money is society's fault! This should not be such an available choice for anyone! The majority of people should oppose this, it should not be such an accepted form of...anything. Her mere thought or suggestion of it should have brought a multitude of people to her side to assist her in any way that would prevent her from selling herself to these people who undoubtedly have severe, most likely traumatic issues going on in their own lives that have caused

Tyra i like your show i watch your show every day. But whan i saw this show, :( you were not right, uyou are not right too judg. im am very very very DISAPPIONTED IN YOU!!!!!! I AM NEVER going to watch your show again. what she did is nit right but she did what she had to do and she has my respect. Thats a woman that would do anything to have what she needs for her baby, shes doing it for her baby for that shes my idel. As for you.... i think your a feak. you say you been thru bad things. i dont know you but i know you havent been thru anything bad in your life!!! you got sll the money in the world what you need to do with that money is too give it to kids that dont have food of to family that need help. insted of makeing your own show.

I do enjoy watching your show and for the most part you are usually sympathetic to most people who are having difficulties in their lives, I guess except for of course young pregnant girls I'm not sure what this young girl did to you but damn!! you were quick to pass judgement when you have never walked a day in her shoes she was doing what she thought was best at the time for herself and her unborn baby, especially when not only does the father of the baby turn his back on her but her own family I mean give me a break maybe those are the people you should have been coming down on so damn!!hard with that judgemental gavel of yours, that young lady is due an apology after what you put her through on national T.V., your should be ashamned.

Tyra, I watch your show as often as work permits, however, this show really turned me off! I felt that you were extremely judging of this young woman. I don't approve of her choice, but I also know how limited her options are in her condition. Fair or not, she would have a very hard time finding a job in her condition. Maybe your producers should have investigated the job market where this girl lived, and maybe done some research regarding her actual options. I had been unemployed for 2 years looking HARD for a job with no luck until recently. I am a single mother of one, and having a rough time making ends meet. The job market in this area is not very good, most jobs are only hiring part time at minimum wage. That is impossible to support a child on. Could this young girl have really made enough money to get everything she needs to prepare for the birth of her child on that type of income? NEVER! I would never consider doing prostitution to support my child, but sometimes you find yourself in a position that you don't know what you might consider. I think you were rude and down right mean to that poor girl. And to top it off, I felt it was an insult to her for your show not to have even offered some sort of help to her. It was like your show was saying that because of her choice she made, she didn't deserve your help. Way to go coming across so high and mighty!!!

I think that being a prostitute is wrong regardless of being pregnant or not. Why would any woman want to degrade themselves. Some men don't care who they lay down with and now some women are like that. That's very nasty! Please stop prostituting and be a better role model for your child.

Tyra, in most things I think you are talented, gifted, and very sensitive to people who have issues. I have bragged to my friends how you just seem to be able to do everything. . . BUT, I must tell you that I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in your response to this young woman. It was very "un-Tyra". You were unusually insensitive and judgmental towards this young woman. And while she made a decision that made many of us shudder--we are not in her shoes. I am somewhat shocked that you didn't offer to help her an any way. While you seemed to be appalled that the John had purchased some baby items for Alana--at least he made a contribution. YOU OFFERED NOTHING but criticism. You let me down, girl, you let me down. You are much better than this--what happened that day?

Tyra, as a person who works with at risk populations, I am appauled how you behaved towards this girl. you judged, demeened and shamed this girl infront of thousands of people. I agree that what she is doing is not appropriate for someone that is in her shoes. However, I do not believe attacking Alana was any way to go about it. You referred to her as a bad person and that prostitution is the only label that definied her. This is wrong, she is also a female, pregnant, soon to be mother, daughter, caucasian. Who are you to decide which label preceeds all others. And I also want to touch on abother point that you made - Saying that what she is doing is causing psychological damage to the child. The child is not born, therefore, has no recolection of what is happening. To guilt her into thinking that is wrong. Yes, if she continues this behavior, there may be psychological issues that occur, but when it is an unborn child, no. Tyra, you also acted as though you were of a higher class then her. Well thank you for reinforcing stereotypes and increased judgement on this girl. I dont believe your show did anything but make things worse for this girl. i am very ashamed and embarassed for you.
