Yesterday was the 161st. anniversary of the Virgin Islands Emancipation from slavery under Denmark. To commerorate the day, there is an anual walk from Christiansted fort, to the Fredricksted fort.The walk is about 10 miles plus a few miles because it is not a straight run. I made it in about 5 hours. Today I am sore as hell, blistered feet, but I feel good about the walk. I am turning 65 next week,and it is the first time I attempted the walk.

HELLO TYRA, I LOVE WATCHING UR SHOW. I WOULD LOVE TO COME ON UR SHOW AND TELL MY STORY ABOUT MY 2 YR OLD SON THAT IS LIVING WITH A BRITTLE BONE DISEASE. IT IS CALL OI, IT IS A VERY RARE DISEASE BUT VERY PAINFUL. I JUST NEED SOME HELP WITH HIM, I AM HAVING IT VERY HARD, AND I JUST FEEL LIKE GIVING UP. Dear Tyra, I saw your show today July 3, 2009, and my heart went out to Ashley and Grecian as they talked about wanted to quick smoking. My sister Johnnie was a change smoker for 40 years. When our mother died in May of 2001, my sister would say at the house near my mother house because she knows I can’t stand smoke. She said to me, “Mary I know I need to quit smoking, but I can’t.” I asked my sister if she really want to quick smoking and she assured me she did. I told her ok, and didn’t say anything else to her about it. During the first month of each year my church, “The City of Refuge” fast the first 21 days. I added my sister to my prayer list. Shortly after our fasting was over I was talking to my sister and she said since I stop smoking…at that point I asked her when did she quick smoking? If I remember correctly she said the 10th of February. I told her about our fasting and praying for her. She told me, I knew it, I told my friend that my sister has something to do with this. She went on to tell me how she tried to smoke one cigarette all day. Every time she would put the cigarette in her mouth she would have to take it out…and to this day she had not smoke again, and can’t stand to be around anyone else that smoke. I wish that you will let Ashley and Grecian know my heart with out to them for two reasons. One they want to quit, and two is because they are pregnant and need to quit.
Going to my MI's house (mother inlaws) for some food and fireworks. Every year the men in the fam set out to purchase hundreds of dollars in fireworks to set them off and they try to have the best "grand finale" in the neighborhood. So far, we have the best. Hopefully this year we wont have to run from a bottle rocket that got loose and headed for the house & our guest's =) Be safe and have fun everybody!
I would love if i could be in usa to celebrate the usa "birthday" But i live in europe-kosova. But of curse i will celebrate it in my heart by closing my eyes and just pretending that i am in washington d.c. I hope that i can afford to be there in next year so and my birthady cuold be celebrated there (july 6th) USA congratulation love you and your firs family
