I love you Tyra, but I was just watching this episode of the show and you claimed that Cleopatra was black and that Elizabeth Taylor shouldn't have played her because she is white. Cleopatra, though given the title of Pharaoh in Egypt, was a descendant of a Macedonian Greek, which was a Hellenistic culture. Her family ruled an African country, but they were not of African descent.

so im watching the tyra show and it is the one were these strait guys doing gay porn and well wanting to get into the porn industry i completely understand were these guys are coming from (even tho im bi) i mean they are trying to make a buck but i would love for her to answer this or ask the crowd if these STRAIT women if they have ever kissed a girl bc we all know best friends do stuff i know bc look at all the pic on face book and tell me if they would do the same thing........ i dont like this attack on these guys trying to make money come on tyra stop attacking people bc they want to provide for their family..... i mean the bartender thing was a good point that just bc your doing it does not mean you live it but i still think that they should in their profile to say that they are strait or something so we know

I really don't see why this is remotely an issue. I'm a lesbian and I used to work at a place similar to hooters, you make bank at places like that! Plus everyone there knows no one is going home with them. Its a fun atmosphere, I enjoyed working there more then when I was waiting at a cafe that was supposed to be trendy and a relaxed atmosphere. If these guys are confident enough in their sexuality to do this, more power to them!

I don't really get how you can put being a bartender in the same category as Porn. When I was in College I worked as a bartender and a cocktail waitress in a club that catered both to straight and gay people. It was a goth club. Part of the job is to flirt to set the mood and the tone of the club environment. I had no interest in the women or men at the club. But it's a job and a act and you play it up. I can gaurantee none of the women I served felt that I was doing more then my job. It is no different then modeling in a picture with a man that you are not sexually attracted to you still tell those models to play it up and be sexy for the camera. Those bartenders are just doing a job and in this economy if they have a job it's great for them.

What an interesting topic! I know I always ask the sexual orientation of every cute girl bartender I meet. And the thought of getting a lapdance from a lesbian.... gross! Also, I think it's offensive for people to fake anything in porn. /end sarcasm/ There are a lot of real attacks on the gay community out there (hate crimes, attacks on gay marriage, etc...) that could use the attention this show wasted.

I always watch your show, and I am looking forward to the Mama's Boy one tomorrow and the one where balck women are trying to make them sleves look white.:(. I think the show today was very good. It showed us, that people can do what they want, and shouldn't be judge by it. However I don't think I would be able to be with a guy who was "gay for pay" because you might be having sex with your man, or be planning to be married, and he is having sex with other guys for money. It would be kinda like he's cheating on you don't you think. Also, I don't really think it is fair for men to be doing "gay for pay" cause you don't really mean any of it. Gay people have chossen to be like that, and it almost seems like the men doing " gay for pay" is making fun of that.Although it's there choice, and I am sure they mean anything wrong by it. Also I think it is okay for straight men to work in gay bars, becuase they are making their living, and that is their gob. I enjoyed watching the show. Your shows are always great!

As a gay man, I was personally offended by the magazine editor that put these guys down. So what if straight guys work in a gay bar? If a gay man worked in a "straight" establishment, it wouldn't be wrong; because if a straight man had the same opinion about a gay man working there, that would be homophobic or discrimination. I hate when certain gays give the entire community a bad name. Discrimination can go both ways - even gay men discriminating against the straight community. That man made me SICK and I am ashamed for him.

Hi, Tyra! I always watch your show and really like it but today I was greatly disappointed when you mentioned that Cleopatra was black! There is great amount of historical evidence that Cleopatra was not black and thus, wrongful and ignorant to comment such statements especially about something that is supported by historical evidence throughout centuries 1) Cleopatra was from the Ptolemaic dynasty which at the time was impossible for black Egyptian to be a descendant of Ptolemy. The Ptolemies ruled from the enclave fortress of Alexandria named for Alexander the Great. No one who was not Greek,or Macedonian was even given free access to the city of Alexandria, not to mention the palace. The royal family of Ptolemies was as inbred as any European royalty and the name Cleopatra was reserved for the daughters of most noble of the Greco-Macedonian families. 2)Another evidence is from contemporary sources, as when Julius Caesar took Cleopatra to Rome at the time the black skin of people was mentioned everyone in Italy if someone was black, as there was a black man called Hannibal who ravaged their country and caused starvation. Thus, is she was black it would have been mentioned at the least when she was physically described in detail by Plutarch. 3) "Queen Cleopatra was an initiate into the Eleusinian mysteries and the high priestess of the Ptolemaic death cult dedicated to the god Serapis as depicted by the cynic Diogenes. No black woman could have been initiated into these rites as a high priestess of those mysteries that have been the foundation of white European culture from ancient times to the present."

I saw this show today (I´m from sweden so it takes a while before it gets here. If my boyfriend asked me if he could be gay for pay I would told him not to. The bartender thing is okay but not porn. Just flirting is okay, i´ve seen him kiss his male friends and it dosen´t bother me.

I say no those men are not strait like they got to be bi or something. I mean strait men just can't go around kissing other guys and stuff unless there gay.

Most of you must live in a bubble! There is a very well known director of Quality Gay films in Europe, who hires mostly straight men who are paid quite nicely to do a few hours of work. It is rough in some of those countries to get steady work. This has been going on for years. A penis has no concience, and when money is needed, many will heed the call like that, No Viagra or Cialis needed here, that's for sure!!
