You Tyra haters got it all wrong- I was judging them so can Tyra- they are wrong. When you have children you can't have a discriminating job like that! You should wish for your child to have a respectful job not one that is so dirty! Tyra's Victorias Secret career is totally different! She is selling good quality bras not sex!! And besides Tyra is not a MOM!! This is where the problem comes in. Moms and Dads need to be role models for their children. Tyra has the opinion that has the best interest for the kids! So back off people!!! You go Tyra!!
I feel you were far too harsh, one-sided and extremely judgmental in this interview. It was so very obvious that you had a personal problem with the choices the mothers have made and you were making every effort for the daughters to view their mothers in the same disgusting light you view them. That was very difficult to watch...

it's just a job it's not a big deal about half my family are in that industry it doesn't make them any better or worst then who they real are and it doesn't affect or change their personality. Actually they are much nicer than people with regular job you would be surprise how nice and good people they really are.

I watch Tyra's show daily in Kenya. Av 5 grown children an had my 1st child at 19yrs (she is now 30yrs n the last is 18yrs. My husband died wen they were very young we've never been rich. I earn USD 150.- pm. (worked in varios companies) as a secretary, worse being in Africa. Cant support these women. They shud av stopped stripping immediately they started avin a family or opt not 2 av kid at all. Weather u like it or not its not gud 4 their kids. Am 1yr old at my job at 47yrs. Pls change yr character.
This is for Tyra. I seen the saw with the two mothers in the sex industry. It was a good show, but I did not like how you came across to the women. Especially the first mom, the dominatrix. It seems like you was judging her the most. Also, it seems like you want that drama between the mom and her daughter. I will tell you like this, These women is not hurting anyone. They are feeding their children and keeping a roof over their heads. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I did not like what you said, the psychiatrist and some of the people in the audience. Tyra I think you should look at your own life. You worked for Victoria Secret and that sells sex. Even being a model too. You are being a hypocrite. The psychiatrist was way out of line. Just because she has a degree does not mean she know what she is talking about. Her opinion sucks. She was not no good psychiatrist. She was actually too opinionated and the audience. I have a degree in management. I got laid off twice. It is hard to find a job. Also, I am still paying for my student loan. I have rent to pay, bills, i have two children too. You and everyone else need to get off their high horse and stop judging people that are trying to provide for their families. Tyra and others that is very judgmental and have money should help women and give them jobs.
I think that in this crappy day in age... it's so hard to find a job that will pay enough to pay for just your rent but if you have kids and you have no help I say you do what you have to do. just make sure that you arent putting your self or your family in danger. hire a Bodyguard or something.
I used to be head chef in a strip club, and I have never met a stripper who doesn't have at least one child.
My sister is a stripper. She has a nice house, nice cars, and gives her kids almost anything they want. She's been doing it for like 5 or 6 years and she is still going strong. She doesn't need anything fake on her she gets her money the honest way. There's no need to go above and beyond just stripping to make a buck and if you do well that's on you.. But I love my sis and she'll problem be stripping tell her heels fall off and that's alright!!
It is not our place to judge. That is God's domain. However, we must remember that with all that we do there is a consequence to follow. If we are prepared to accept the consequences of our actions then let every one do according to his conscience. Personally, I cannot condone such a 'job'. I am sure that there are many other ways that these women can make money to feed their children. We need to stop finding excuses to justify immorality. This is not even a life or death situation. Wrong example for our girls. At the end of the day it just depends on what values we hold and what we want for our children. I hardly think that this would be the kind of role model we would want our little angels to emulate. I am a single mom too and I know what I would choose.
I generally love Tyra's show, but yesterday 6/11/09, she went above the call of duty to embarass the women. The women were at peace with what they were doing and even the 20 year old was at peace with her mom, but Tyra wanted to totally embarass them. As the single mother, husband left when my 20 year old was only 2 and never looked back, you do what you have to do to make it. I never stripped, but when you sleep with a man or even stay with a man, even your husband, just for the money he brings and cringes when he touches you, you are no better than the women who strip, at least they are being honest. Until you walk in the shoes of single mothers or any mother trying to provide for their children, you can't critize, because no one has the same shoe - what worked for you may not work for some one else.
for some reason, i think tyra didnt treated the guest as in the "moms" respectly. it looks like she only brought them to the show to like critize (which is a good thing to do) but also like embrass them publicly. like i mean, there was a part where the first mom started to get emotional and tyra was like, omg, i didnt know there was like a human being right there or when you started emotional, everyone saw a human being. it seems like tyra is refering to the first mom as a object. Besides, i think the mom are adults, they can do whatever they want to, but i do agree with Trya that, the career they have are not the only choice they are to choose from but Tyra, just remember that the country is in heavy bankrupt and jobs are getting laid off. people with a bacholer degree cant even get a job. then how the heck can people with higher education gonna feed themself.
I think the Dom-mom was doing it for the right reasons and the stripper mom was stuck on pretty...
