Times are hard and I actually admire the women strive to make ends meet by any means necessary. As long as they hold on to themselves, their morals and their family, there is nothing wrong with dancing every now and then. In my opinion it should be thought of as a meantime job, not a profession. It should be used as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
I saw this show today..I felt so sorry for the daughter of the dominatrix. If my mom worked in the sex industry I would be SO EMBARRASSED! It would HURT to know that my food and clothes, and computer comes from my mom fulfilling males fantasies as a sex worker. Maybe her mom is mad at the daughter for being born in a way..like see..look what I have to do to take care of you! Look what you are making me do. They are all hurting. I hope they can work things out, and that her mom can find something in life that makes her happy even if its 20 years later. It's not over yet, lots of life left to live. --Blessings To All!
ID BE CONCERNED ABOUT HER SAFETY. BUT ID ALSO BE SPOILED SOOO...
That's not ok at all ..Our mother is our perfect picture during childhood n' growing up..I can't say that a stripper is something perfect ...She can be beautiful without stripping or cant she..
Tyra, I usually love your show, but today's show was absolutely ridiculous! You were so judgmental, especially to Tamara. There is noting wrong, illegal, or unethical in what she does for a living. It was so wrong of you to make her feel bad about herself. It seemed that half of your audience wasn't buying your judgment--and if you would have let more speak you would have allowed us to see that. I was very impressed with Tamara because she is a strong beautiful woman who is able to support her children. I think you owe her an apology. In my eyes, Tamara retained her diginity and you did not.
i dont even know what i would think. first i think i would be a little grossed out. i mean seriously being a hooker may seem glamorous, but it really is a bunch of BS.
I work in the sex industry I have done porn and I have my own adult web site so if my mom worked in porn... I'd be like "Yay, cool. Now I can share my secret life with you." lol. Cleopatra Reign
Tyra, I don't even know if there are enough words in the English language to describe the level of disgust I felt watching today's show with the dominatrix mother. How dare you stand as a host and act so blatantly judgemental to a "guest" on your show! I too am a single mother and single mortgage holder who (due to the economy) has been unemployed for almost 6 months and believe me, bills and responsibility don't take a break because you've come up against hard times! I applaud this woman's efforts and the fact that she has been able to maintain a home and an excellent relationship with her children while working at being an outstanding mother. She is not engaging in any sexual or illegal activity and though her work is unconventional, she's not doing anything that should carry any shame. Next time you choose a topic that you are clearly opposing hopefully you can at least give your guest the courtesy that you gave the homosexuals seeking marriage and split your audience 50/50 so that there is support for both sides! Your guests were wrongfully attacked and judged today by MANY who have never walked in their shoes. For any future guests that have such great suggestions (i.e. returning to school or getting a "better" job) I'd hope that those ideas are followed by a big fat cheque because none of that is free and I heard nobody offering to help today - only judge!
Okay. this is totally ridiculous. I am watching this episode right now. I can't even imagine. If I found out my mom was doing this as a night job... even if it was to BETTER ME. I don't care. I'd rather not have all the luxuries I have now. even if she could find another job. I don't care if it didn't pay as much. That is WRONG. (for anyone. not JUST A MOM) I don't think those jobs are right. I can't believe people would do this to their children. that's an embarrassment. even though they might be getting money to pay for groceries and things, it doesn't matter. that's wrong to strip at night and expose yourself in that way. Think about what kind of example you're setting for your child!!! It makes people think it's all about sex and money. They may not be HAVING SEX. but they ARE SELLING IT. It's wrong. they are exposing themselves to men who pay money and saying to their kids that it's okay. They would be HORRIFIED to find their kids doing that and it's hypocritical to tell them not to. This is disgusting to me.
I absolutely love Tyra but Today I was most ashamed of Tyra. How hypycritical. Tyra sells sex and sexuality. How dare you stand in judgment. What would you prefer them to do, Welfare and food stamps? What today's show may have actually helped some of us unemployed moms to discover is a hidden job market. Thanks Tyra you know you're the best!
Tyra i really think you are losin touch of reality the fact of the matter is you brought two young ladies on show with their mothers to try to bash how they have taken care of their children in reality right now is recession these two ladies have done what they can to make sure that their kids want for nothin loookin from the human eye these young ladies seem to be headed in the right direction if they can identify that what their mothers do is not what they want to do to take care of their future family im apalled with you for havin that so called pyschologist up their who probaly has no children to take care of ridicule these ladies about how they take care of home i realized after today that your audience is geared to your young woman that inspire the same type of lifestyle top model that you have everythin is not ran in order get a life or in touch with reality
Sex appeal is sex appeal. I see no real difference in using your looks or body to achieve success and/or money. To exotically dance or dominate both professions use sex appeal as does modeling and many other well respected career choices. Either way you look at it Sex sells, and for single mothers who are trying to provide a better life than what a fast food/factory job can provide for their children it is a lucrative option. We are not here to judge others. Those women could be prostitutes or never home, chasing low paying jobs. Their children would probably then complain about not having enough of what they are used to or their mother not being home enough. What our parents choose to do is none of our business and it's definitly not our place to judge them.
You know, I'm really disappointed in this episode. The way a woman decides to express her sexuality, even when she decides to use her body for money, isn't something that she should be attacked for. Do we feel the same way about male studs? There weren't any fathers on there with daughters or sons who were uncomfortable with daddy being a jiggalo. Sex is natural. All women use their body in some way to get money, attention, a boyfriend, a husband. This is ridiculous. The daughters seem more embarrassed by what OTHER PEOPLE THINK of their mothers than how it really makes them feel. An those psychiatrists or whatever? Lord please. Yeah, we're all a little bit crazy. Go sit on a tack.
hi tyra, i had been so disapointed if my mom had been a dancer. i know i'ts just a job. but then she will be acting like a hoe, and that will be so sad !
Tyra I am appalled that you and your ignorant closed minded audience would try to make this woman seem like there is something wrong with her. If she has to support her family than that’s what she has to. The way I look at it if you think it’s that bad why don't you cut her a check?
