I think people should do what they want, even mothers with children but there are some conflicts. When a child is younger it's not the best example to see get the idea that "well my mom does... so why can't I?" Though I'm sure that can be handled, it can get risky because there's a difference between it being a job than being promiscuous and that can be hard for some to understand. Also, it would be extremely difficult in teen years. Boys already pull that MILF expression. They'd be curious. Even the song "Stacie's Mom" expresses that common desire teens have to get with an older woman. Basically, to summerize, it can send mixed messages and though possible, I'm sure it would be very difficult at some point for the kid/s and the mother.
I would not be happy if my mom does this job I will feel shy to meet people bceause they Might say thing about my ... I would say if any Of The mom who has this job ask how ur child feel Beacuse they might be going over hard time ..
I am not against mothers in the sex industry. I think that it is a fast way to make money but I do not think that it is a way of life. They should be role models to their children but at the same time money doesn't grow on trees.. sure there are other options but I'm sure they won't make as much money as they want or need to support their families. sometimes going back to school is not an option when you don't have the time. oh by the way I LOVE YOUR SHOW!!!!
I think Tyra did a great job making these women realize their jobs are not role model material for mother's... I think people who are offended by this show need to wake up... I have always felt disgusted by these types of jobs... It's funny seeing these women say they "have to do this to support their kids" ha ha ha.. I'm a single mom and I would rather struggle as a factory worker and know my child has what he needs... I feel so bad for the daughters trying to get through to their stubborn mothers... The dominatrix's daughter seemed scared to stand up to her mother and she is 21 years old... It's a shame... I will pray for these women... Great show Tyra! Showing Love From Alabama!
Well I will say I have been trying to get into the sex industry for a while now. My reasone for wanting to is because a good friend told me I would make a great sex therapist. Why you are thinking? She and I have always exchanged sex tips and stories with one another. The main reasone I would like to be a part of it is to help women bring out thir sexual being to thir compainion a little more. I also beleive sex once involveld with the right person can be an experience for greater than the physical that some people think. Olso I went a pleasure part once and I thourght to myself I could do these party, I could sell sex. The truthe is I have not done either one of them yet one because school is so expensive and I dont have that kind of money. If I had that kind of money I would be industry also.
In regards to the mother who worked as a dominatrix, a dominatrix is not a "sex worker." A dominatrix is different from a stripper or prostitute in that this type of expression is based soley on power and control, not on sexual acts. Tyra, let's be realistic, when you can't pay your morgage, your bills, and you see your children suffering as a result, you do what you have to do to survive. This mother can either have 17 jobs, never spend any time with her children and continue to struggle or she can work 10 hours a week, pay her bills, and raise her kids. We all make sacrifices. Tyra, respectfully, when was the last time you worried how you would pay your morgage?
i think in my opinion that if she find this bad jop she will be able to find a good jop but it depends on her morals and courage and the way she wants to be and i am sure that god will help her because of her courages and her refuse to this bad jop
I would be really concerned about her safety. A strip club is a dangerous place. I've heard many stories. I would also be really embarrassed to have a mom who worked for sex. Yet i would disown her.
As a woman, every one has reasons for doing what ever that they do, may situation beyound her control could lead her in to it. why would you abandon a woman who is going the extra mill to save her kids, if you have a better option to lead her out of it fine, she can save some money from it to divert in to different business,this does not mean it good to be a sex worker every woman happens to be a roll model if not for any one for her kids.
I would completely support my mom if she was ever to work in the sex industry, because my mom gave up alot to make sure that I had what I needed when I was younger, never has a day go by that I don't think about how much my mother sacrificed to make my life better and better.
I will get the Word of God into her spirit and it will change her life. This has happened because many have been lured into Satan's trap believing that by abusing sexually your body you could get loved too. The scriptures prescribe that is not Love but the opposite of the Love of God. Therefore, sexually abusing your body is a true symptoms of the total lack of Love. By getting the Word into someone's spirit we show them true Love that shall guide him/her in the realm of the spirit under the shadow of Jesus Christ's wings where there is healing-in this case, healing for sexual immorality. I plead the Blood, I plead the Blood, I plead the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ over sexual immorality. I plant the Holy Cross on It.
I used to finish watching a Tyra show and feel happy or inspired/uplifted. Even my husband enjoyed watching it! Now I can only watch maybe 20 minutes and all I see is a very judgmental person who brings guests on her show to criticize them. I thought Tyra could have been the next Oprah - and even Oprah is conservative at times, but still treats people with respect. I'm unsubscribing from the mailing list and taking you off Twitter. I will no longer watch your show. That's a shame, but it's getting to be too much.
It looks like this episode was reaired today. I read some of the comments and they go back to last year 2008. This episode should have been trashed and never aired again. Tyra--you really should consider taking journalism class on objectivity in reporting. Your behavior was embarassing and rude to your lovely guests. It was clear you were ready to rip your "guests" a new one and drive those mothers off the cliff before they had even opened their mouths. So I guess you'd berate Madonna too if she was on you show today. You'd insist that she's a bad, inconsiderate mother because how she's made her living and the costumes (studs, leather, whips, chains) and role playing she performs during her concerts. Because Madonna has done basically the same thing as those moms during her shows. Right? She's just as guilty as those moms you belittled today? Oh, I would love to hear you go back and forth with Madonna about her integrity, her intentions, her right to freedom to expxress herself as an ARTIST, her commitment to motherhood, and how she should be living her life. Tyra, come on. You could do so much better. I'm sticking with Oprah...a seasoned host that understands that she is to report on a story not inject herself and her judgements in it.
I would ask her to pay off my car and school loan for me!
