I would care very much if my mom was in the sex industry.. especially if my parents were still married. Everyone wants to make money.. but I don't feel that it's right to go and put yourself out there, not just for moms, but for anyone. Parents want their kids to go down the right paths, so a mother doing that.. isnt showing her kids the right way to live life.

well im a 18-year-old female, and well i was completely outraged at this show...but not for the reasons that you think i would. i was very disapointed in Tyra whom i imensely looked up to for a long time. i felt as if you were pushing your personal views on the guest and you made the guest, especially the domina mom, look like some type of person that intentionally wanted to hurt their kids. it doesn't seem like that. they took these jobs and just like any other HUMAN BEING they became used to thier lifestyle. i know that it may hurt these girls but they'll get over it if they really love their moms. life is not a bed of roses and if my mom had a job like that i would be shocked at first but i would get over it. we live, we learn, and then we move on. i applaude these women for their bravery.
TYRA I THINK THE MOTHERS ON THIS EPISODE WERE ATTACKED FOR DOING WHAT THEY FEEL THEY HAVE TO DO TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES. EVERYONE'S SITUATION IS NOT THE SAME SO EVERYONE CAN NOT BE A SOCCER MOM BECAUSE THAT IS NOT THE WAY IT WORKED OUT FOR THEM. TO THE LADY THAT MADE THE COMMENT ABOUT HIDING HER BOOTS AND SAYING SHE WOULD NOT BE A DOMINATRIX THAT'S FINE BUT WITH A BODY LIKE HERS SHE COULD NOT ANYWAY. I FEEL LIKE THE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED WERE ASKED IN A WAY TO MAKE THE PARENTS SEEM LIKE BAD PARENTS AND THAT WAS SO WRONG. TYRA , YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW, UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT THE STRUGGLE BECAUSE EVERYBODY WAS NOT BORN WITH A SILVER SPOON. I just saw the show today on the mothers being in the sex industry. I am not mad at the show everyone is entitled to there opinion and what they feel is in the best interest of children but lets face reality. I am a single mother that tried going to school and working a part time job to find that the money that I was making only paid rent. Then I started going to school, working a part time job and a full time job to make money and then realized that I never saw my child. So how is that really benefitting her. We live in a world where men are not men they boys posing as men (looking like adults on the outside but are really boys on the inside)and women that have to be both mother and father. When we try to get assistance from the government they don't want to give a little bit of help unless you can't do anything but remain on the system. So for all of those that were in the audience that day and even you Miss Tyra please let me know where is the happy medium???
I think what a person does in the bed room is their own personal business... If anyone has ever heard of sites like Adult Friend Finder Or ALT or Swing lifestyle or Adult Playground or anything even close to that... Then they would know that there are MILLIONS of people in this world that live these kinds of lives. It may not be their job but they still live in that kind of life style. The average age of members for those kinds of websites are 20's to 50's... Men AND women! Out of all those millions of people, do you all REALLY think that NONE of them have kids? 9 out of 10 of them do! And their kids have NO IDEA what they do when mommy and daddy go out on a Friday or Saturday night... So personally I think its a choice that should be left up to that person and everyone else should live their own life and not snub their noses up in the air at people for the way they live their life, because they would not want other people doing that to them for anything they may do in their own personal life!

I share the same emotion as most have written. I do think that it is very judgemental to talk down about what the dominatrix/mother is doing. It is hard to work different jobs and be able to do all the things that you have to do as a mother. To a child you have to be like superwoman because they expect and want you to be there at all times. I feel that by being there for her kids when they needed her most. Yeah, 2 society she is doing something that should've been kept under wraps for the sake of her childrean however, she wasn't doing anything that the average mother wouldn't do for her kids and that is show them love and let them know that you are there for them. I don't think that it is sending mixed messages to let the single parents know that this is the industry they should go into. I think it just let us as single parents know that other single parents have been able to make it through (even if they had to do some things that weren't pleasing to society)I commend her for being able to survive for her and her kids. I too am a single mom of (4) and wish that I could be here for my kids all the time and get them involved in activities that they would like to do but right now it is impossible. And the way that the economy is right now jobs are scarce and you aren't always able to get hired for jobs that would accommodate your kids schedule.
i would not like my mother to work in that industry, but that is because i have grown up and been raised in a way where sexuality is not exploited in that particular way
I think its a personal choice. Whether you work at burger king or you have a very "hot" job, thats your life, your choice. Just remember that for every action there's a reaction. I think my mom is a very hot intelligent woman and she's 41. She would never go for a "hot" job, she feels its very degrating to dance for men simply for money. Of course i would NEVER judge her if she had such job. I say, u you do what's best for you and your family. Just know u have 2 paths in life, you can either go right or you can go left, the choice is yours. AND THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF IT!!!

Hey Tyra, I am 18 years old my mom have worked as a adult entertainer since she was 18. She has been in the business for 17 years. She is now 35 years old and has put herself threw medical school. She no longer dances, but when she was dancing she sat me and my little sister down and asked us if we wanted her to stop. Me and my little sister both told her "no". I am VERY proud of my mom and if she wants to dance than I see no problem with that. I dont see why people make a big fuss over exotic dancers. For one they are not having sex with anybody. They get on the stage and do what people do everyday "strip" the differnce is that they do it in front of a crowd, with music and for money. Some women dance to put themselves threw school (my mom), some dance to pay off bills or their debt, some just dance because that is what they like to do. My mom has taught me that, that is not the way she wants me to go and that there is other options out there. If she decides to dance again I will support her ONE MILLION PERCENT and if anybody has a problem with that then thats their opinion. I love my mom and everything she does.
