NEXT: Dealing With Working Mom Guilt?

Hi Tyra, This is my first time making a comment. I feel as if you are acting like a lawyer and leading your guest to give the answers you are seeking. Tamara's daughter seemed fine and you tried to put words in her mouth. You led your guest instead of allowing them to answer for themselves. It is so easy to pass judgment but my mother always taught me not to criticize unless you were in a position to help better the situation. Unless you and anyone else with an opinion are going to take care of her children and place food in her refrigerator then we should just listen. She probably has more problems after being on your show then she did before. I hope her and her family the best and it is obvious that she would do whatever she thinks is necessary to secure her family. I love you Tyra and I love your show but this just didn't feel right with me.

(What the hell is wrong with you Tyra?) I can't believe how disrespectful she was of those mothers. They were both hard working mothers gettin the paper neccesary for supporting their families. They should not be so harshly judged just because what they do for a living is not understood by everyone. Not evryone is capable of doing what those women do but that does not make it wrong. They are not hurting anyone deliberatly and every job has its downfalls. Tyra and everybody else needs to stop hatin on them, besides they are gonna do whats right for them anyways and not do exactly what everybody else wants. It's impossible to please everybody so it is most important to do what pleases you.

Is it just a coincinence that all the messages I have read are in support of the 2 mothers? Here they are doing all they can to support their families, yet recieve no support themselves, especially from the pius TV host? I find it ironic for someone who, most likely traveled the world as a model, was exposed to alternative lifestyles has no understanding or tolerance for others. I thought to be naive and judgemental were mutually exclusive. Another messanger hit it on the head saying sex sells. I guess for Tyra, it just depends on the timing.

I defiantly agree with what all these women are saying about today’s show. The comments are real and to the point. what I want to know is: Tyra since you feel so passionately about this topic; you should have another show about it, and I would love to be on it to give my judgmental opinion on you performance on today's show. I hope you will be reading these posts; I can make my commit when you invite me to you show. Love ya.

Hey Tyra....I love to watch your show and I hardly ever miss it, but this show really disaponited me. Some moms have to do what it is necessary to survive and if they find it that turning their fantasy into a job that helps them move forward in life then i dont think we should be judging them so harshly. Ones job is suppose to be something that you like to do....that one looks forward to going and not thinking about calling in sick to miss out on it. Hope not to have offended your idea but maybe we should take it easy on moms that are just trying to take care of their families and survive in this economy and cruel world.

Hey tyra the show was good but I don't think that there was nothing wrong with how these mother's make their money. Their doing what they like to and what work's for them as a single parent myself I would do anything for my child but I'm different from them I would not be a domin person because that's not my personity. I feel like u were tryin to make the teen grils talk their mother's out of doing what they do. Would u feel better if these parent's were getting food stamp's or watining on a welfeir check in the mail and not work at all? There doing somthing and that's all that should matter. It's a lot of other wrong that they could do like sale drugs but their not so the hell with what the title of the job is I'm happy that their doing somthing in order to take care of their kids and no one should look down

Tyra, I can not believe how degrading you were exspecially to Tamara. You tried your best to turn her daughter against her. You were a total B. Instead of being empathetic you belittle. I use to really think you were compassionate and respectful, but the more I see your shows, the more I see you as fake and all about yourself or does everything have to be about you. Oh maybe it does like you not having or keeping a man, is that the problem or why you make women feel worst than they did before your show. You being a woman and a woman of color should know better than to think that it is so simple to care for a family alone. Oh I forgot you don't have kids. Maybe your mother did some things she may not be proud in order to make a better life for you. I am very disapponted in you. And as far as I am concerned I will not waste any more of my time watching you tear people down.

The dominatrix mother as I see her have nothing but the best interest of herself and her family, yes. A sweet person at heart. BUT as a mother she have to set an example and be a positive influence. Her eldest daughter is now 21 isn't time to make a change?? It's POSSIBLE to have both adult to support the family. It's time to let go of her unhealthy past and start a new future. She is a pretty women who has many potential and I do wish her luck.

Tyra,Tyra!!!! normally i really like your show a lot. i did until today have a respect for your mind. but, today you were way out of your element. you sdhould have listened more, and talked less. then, you would have heard what your guests were saying, especially Tamara. how dare you try and villify someone for using their body...not even naked, when you would not be where you are had you not been ok with taking your clothes off in front of millions. come on, fighting for ratings is fine, and putting on a show is your job. but, it is not ok to put people on your stage, twist their words, try to extract non existent feelings and sentiments out of them is palin dirty. you are better than that...or are you????? what we'll do for money, huh Tyra? watch this show again, and think about how you handled yourself. being judgemental without all the info, does not wear well on you...makes you look Fat...with hot air!

Personally, I don't the problem with these jobs. Times are extremely difficult you do what you got to do to survive! These days no one is willing to hire people I know this from personal experience I've been out of the job for more then 2 years! If I need a job I would take it! As long it's not sex for money (I draw the line there.) As for the whole "be a role model" How can you be a role model if you can't afford to pay the bills! Survive is the main thing to do now especially at these times. People need to lighten up it's a job it's better than not working at all!!! People need to be more open and understanding it hard at normal times it's even worst now. If you don't agree with their life style don't say anything at all but at least have some respect for what they do. Tyra; it doesn't help if you keep attack them unless you are offering a better job be a bit more understanding. We are not rich. We can barely afford the basic needs. Unless you can personally come up with a better solution to the lack of jobs don't judge and compare them with other people we are not all alike we are individuals with different and difficult problems! Any job is better than nothing! Or at least give away free basic needs like a toothbrush or toothpaste at the very least or have a program to help people with the basic need any little thing will help and would be very appreciated. :)

i feel that tyra totally disrespected those mothers. My question to her is what is the difference between a model walking down the cat walk while music is play in wit a bra an underwear on than a stripper who is dancing on a pole? Those mothers main focus is taking care of there kids an it looks like they doing a hell of a job of doing so. Its easy for people to judge when they dont have kids, Those ladies could not get a word in, i thought i was wacthing the tyra show not judge Judy!

I've been a fan of your show America's Next Top Model (to the point of I may actually try to audition at some point), so I decided to watch your talk show. I have to say that I was appalled by what I saw. Being a submissive in the BDSM community with my boyfriend, I found the show offensive to my lifestyle. Because the type of lifestyles that those mothers chose are taboo, they apparently are horrible mothers due to their job. Does the fact that they actually are providing for their family now mean nothing? Your attitude was one of disgust, which honestly very much upset me. Being a part of the BDSM community isn't anything to be ashamed of. I'm a college sophomore at Cal State Fullerton and am on the Dean's Honor Roll and I am a full submissive to my boyfriend. There is nothing wrong with leading a life such as that with children as long as the family/vanilla life doesn't become crossed with the life behind doors, in my opinion. I can honestly say I was very upset by this program. I hope most of the topics from now on do not attack a lifestyle that really has nothing wrong about it. - Koshka

Thank you, Tamara! Everyone loves to villify the sex industry, but speaking as a former stripper it makes me proud to see someone else who refuses to apologise for their career! To Tyra, I love your show and I think you explore important topics, but you preach self empowerment, and for some of us that's exactly what the sex industry provides, not all of us do it because we're hurt inside. Everyone has hurt in them, let's face it. I think the open mindedness and acceptance shown to other groups on your show (i.e. ethnicities and sexual orientations) is lost on this topic and it disappoints me because it shows the kind of prejudice you yourself seek to abolish. We do what we do because it works for us, we're not out to hurt anyone and we're still normal people.

HOW CAN U JUDGE SOMEONE WHEN U SHOWED UR HALF NAKED BODY AROUND THE WORLD SEX SELLS RIGHT IT ALSO HELPS A MOTHER TAKE CARE OF HER CHILDREN. U WOULDN'T KNOW THAT BECAUSE U HAVE NONE OF UR OWN SO U WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND A MOTHER DOING WHATEVA SHE HAS TO DO TO PROVIDE FOR HER CHILDREN. U LOST A LOT OF VIEWERS BEING SO JUDGEMENTAL AND TALKING DOWN TO UR GUEST LIKE U ARE BETTER THAN SOMEONE BUT THAT'S NOTHING NEW WITH U IF U LOOK UP TO A REAL BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN LIKE OPRAH MAYBE U NEED TO HAVE A SIT DOWN WITH HER SO SHE CAN SHOW A THING OR TWO I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE U TRIED TO TURN THE GIRL AGAINST HER MOTHER MAYBE U NEED TO STOP TRYING TO BE SOMETHING U NOT AND KEEP IT REAL

I JUST WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYBODY ON HERE FOR TAKING THE SIDE THESE LADIES AND SEEING TYRA AS THE JUDGEMENTAL PERSON THAT SHE IS. I DON'T FEEL LIKE ANYBODY SHOULD BE JUDGING ANYBODY EXCEPT GOD AND GOD YOU ARE NOT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD DO UNLESS YOU ARE IN THAT SITUATION AND IF YOU HAVE TO RESORT TO THE "SEX INDUSTRY" IN ORDER TO MAKE ENDS MEET AND HANDLE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES THEN DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO OR "DO YOU". UNFORTUNATELY NOT EVERYBODY IS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BECOME A MODEL OR ACTRESS OR SINGER OR DOCTOR OR LAWYER OR NURSE ETC. BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO BE. SCHOOL IS EXPENSIVE SO BEFORE YOU EVEN ATTEMPT TO JUDGE, LOOK IN THE MIRROR. APPLAUDS TO TAMARA AND ALL THOSE WOMEN DOING WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO TO SURVIVE.
