it is hard i just go out of rehab. drugs have ruined my life and im only 14 it is really sad i lost most of my friends and almost died. forgot every thing got a truancy for missing almost 3 months of school. got charged for trespassing. now i have to due a lot of community serves. but the good thin is iv been clean for 64 days and have had a lot of fun. it is really hard at home and i want to use a lot but i slowly doing it a living if i used again i would probably die.

hi tyra! im gonna be a junior an i would like to say a few things. firstly: i am sixteen and one of maybe six virgins in my grade. i am so not ready for that kind of commitment. i wish other girls werent so rude to girls like me. secondly: i am also one of those six who has never done drugs... i can even go to parties because thats all anyone around here does. our school has the highest drug and pregnancy rate in the tri-state area. and i dont want to be a statistic. thirdly, however: i have been in fights. this one girl, Mary, messed with me for a year and a half, lke huge JERK and she didnt even know my name. she called me Velma, like from scooby doo. and one day i had just had enough.... she wont mess with me again...

I also would like to comment about the pregnancy and drug issues. Both issues again involve mental and physical consequences to the mother and user. Also these consequences involve others around you...the direct parties involved to family to many ripples beyond your sight. The dangers of teen pregnancy to the teen alone are quite startling, but I would ask the teens thinking about partaking in this life changing decision to also think about the child. Your body and mind are not at ideal places to care for and nourish a child. Things may seem very clear to you right now, but the truth is your brains are still developing, and you have a ton of living to do. Your bodies often lack the nutritional/physical requirements to bring a healthy baby to full term, as well as lack the insight/knowledge to fully nurture that child. Drugs as well effect not only you in the short and long term, but also people around you and beyond. I personally know this, because of having several of the people I love most fall victim to the consequences and or addiction of drugs. The "illegal" drugs are deemed bad for a reason...many clinical tests etc. But remember that anything can be a drug technically...live in balance, and picture your future. Much love.

I lost my virginity at 21, I am now 23... and with the same guy who I lost my virginity too (Only had sex with one man-love him on an unconditional level). I had my first kiss at 18... (People actually think I am very attractive, my problem had to do with self esteem etc) I regret that I am no longer a virgin, but I am glad that I was more mature and very aware of the facts and figures of what sexual contact entails. We both had testing for STDs etc. He had multiple partners, so I felt the need to have both of us tested. We also use several forms of birth control, and talk about what would happen if I were to get pregnant on a somewhat regular basis. He also respects my wishes, and we don't have sex very often, because he knows that it is something that makes me a bit uncomfortable. Anyone you become involved with, should also respect you this way. I think young girls/women really need to be aware of the physical and mental things that sex entails. I also think honesty is very important in sex, with the partner, and anyone whom is close and might be affected by your actions. There is more to sex than just the act of intercourse. There are many other, safer ways young people can experiment and show infection. If you are uncomfortable talking to a trusted adult, the internet is a great way to gather information. When finding this information, be sure to be aware of dates, and the source. I don't want to judge or tell anyone what they should or should not do, but I would advise to think about your future and all the possibilities of your actions.

hey tyra im fourteen and im alot like these teens and i know why they do these things. its the same reason why i do it we have extremly low self esteem. think about, having sex makes us feel wanted n it feels really good n makes us happy, alchol numbs all the pain we've been through , drugs makes us temporarily forget about and have so much fun in that time, and violence because we get all that anger out . i lost it wen i was 12 and i dont regret it i've gotten in 5 fights even been suspened for it. i've gotten high and drunk in skewl. and fun doing it. im not saying im makin the right choices but just letting you know why we do what we're doing.

girls and having sex is one thing and taking drugs is another. i lost my virginity at 13,i know thats bad right. i started taking cocaine,smoking cannabis,drinking alcahol, and hanging around with the wrong people. my annger has got to that stage where i can't controll it knowmore, the reason why i'm like this is because i was personally victimised by everyone in my highschool, its not nice having to walk out of school every day knowing that your going turn around and get hit in the face all the way through school, im lucky i havn,t died, ive been asaulted 55 times through school, but for some strange reason i still had that strength to go on and finish school. i stopped takin drugs i have been with my new boyfriend since i was 14 now 16 and we havnt even had sex, im makin sure hes the right one, ma dad thinks the better of me now, rather than the worst but what happened at school will never change, now i have kind of gone back to my old self again and started smokin cannabis with my boyfriend and i smoke on average about 5.5 oz of cannabis every ay how can i stop ? please someone help.

Hey Tyra, I am a big fan of you and your show. I watch it everyday and I just happened to look through your website and saw this. Yes, I am a teen myself. Almost all of my friends drink & smoke or ends up being pregnant because they want to look cool. They make ignorant decisions and I believe it's because they want attention or they don't feel love enough. Why do they do these kind of stuff? Because they're not thinking well enough. Teenage girls wants to become a mother for attention or something else. But most of the time it relates to attention or addiction. 50% I do believe it's the parents fault because they don't tell their teens what is right or what is wrong. 50% it is the teens fault that they choose to have sex, do drugs, or even prostituting at a very young age. So out of that 100% you can't just say it's the parents fault or it's 100% the teens fault. Split that 100 and make it 50 for each. It's both fault. Because we are going to the future, it's less luck of teens these days getting in college. Teens should watch out what they do because the world isn't safe unless you make it safe by making smart decisions.
