hey tyra. im 17 years old and this episode really got my attention. i was one of those girls that did nothing but drink, smoke and party everynight. I was never home but when i was i was sitting in my room cutting myself cause i didnt want to live anymore. it started all that when i was 11 years old and it JUST ended last october. i got into a car accident when i was high and put went into rehab last year. when i got out i relapsed and my boyfriend helped me realize how out of control i was. if it wasn't for him and my family i'd probably be dead right now. i lost a lot of my friends because i got clean but that doesn't really bother me anymore. i lost my virginity when i was 14 years old. i didn't really care about myself. i know a lot of people that have STD's and a few of them are my really close friends. After i cleaned myself up everything got so much better. I'm about 7 months pregnant now and honestly i can say it changed me completely. I'm still with my baby's father and i know it will be tough but its helped me stay clean and focus on the future. :)

Dear Tyra, my name is Lisa and I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with genital herpes last year and I was watching your segment on teens having unprotected sex, which I found interesting. I was upset that when you spoke to some of the young girls that had contracted STD's. It seems as if you were surprised that they did not talk about their issues with more shame and embarassment. It is definitely an uncomfortable issue for people to address, but it is also something you have to live with for the rest of your life, so why should anyone have to feel bad about it or shy away from talking about it forever? I believe the problems that most of these girls have is due to the fact that they are not getting the proper education. The education system is weak, and has been teaching the "abstinence only" plan, which is obviously not helping anyone at this point. This not only ties in with STDS, but also teen pregnancy. I do not neccessarily think that these girls should be frowned upon because of their actions, but we have to ask...where are they learning about sex? And who is guiding them into adulthood? Because if it is not the school system and parents refuse to educate their own kids...they are left to make these choices on their own, and nothing will change. I actually spoke to a thirteen year old a couple years ago in a dance class I was teaching and she had told me that she did not know what condoms were and how her and her friends boyfriend asked her to have a threesome...It is all just really upsetting to me, and I just want people to be able to talk about these things more

Hi Tyra! My name is Kait I just recently watched the show about what "teen girls are REALLY doing" I found what some of the girls had to say was really interesting. I know girls like this,and girls who are far from it..I'm currently 18 years old, but I lost my virginity when I was 15. I'm happy to say that I am still dating the guy I lost my virginity too. We are still very much in love, and we stay monogomous together. I do believe it is okay to loose your virginity at a young age(14, 15 +) as long as YOUR ready, and your actually in love with the person.

In this show i was really upset when Tyra said in the begining of the show that teens only knew "teen love" that they didn't know "adult Love" Yet at age 19 i am totally and completely in love "ADULT LOVE" with my bofriend/almost Fiancee who is now 22(we have been talking about it for awhile now)But we have been together since i was 15, and we "LOVED" eachother after a week of dating, we could feel the connection, "the ONE." so does that mean that my "teen Love" changed into "adult love", yet how could it when i feel the exect same way i did when we first said "i love you"!!!

Hey Tyra!! When I watched this episode, I was honestly disgusted with what many teenagers are doing. I am 16, almost 17 and I am a virgin. I have never tried any type of drug. I have been in fights, but I was just protecting myself (well they are all pretty much my mom's bf). But, I was truly just disgusted with what some of those girls were saying. I don't plan on having sex until I am much older. I just don't think it or any of the consequences are anything I need in this point in my life. I know I would painfully regret it. I have just made out with a few guys that I regret and get so mad at myself for. I can't imagine having sex and feeling that. And as for drugs, never. I did not have a childhood because my parents did drugs. I suffered for many years of my life because of drugs. My parents being on drugs was hell for me. People just don't understand what drugs could do. It is horrible for anyone to do them especially teens because it could get worse when they get older like it did with my parents. Hey Tyra,Im 13 years old and still a virgin.Ive never tried drugs and dont plan to.There is a lot of kids at skool who are havin sex,doin drugs,and who drink a lot.Im always hearin kids talkin bout how there is gonna be a party and there is goin to be drugs and alcohal and even some rooms if any kids want to be havin sex.I feel kind of weird knowin that im 1 of the few kids who arent doing any of that.Im not ashamed of it,but I do feel weird.I know as a fact that ATLEAST 50% of every Jr.High skool are not virgins anymore.Theres always kids getting caught having sex in the bathrooms.A few 7th and 8th graders dropping out of skool cause they are pregnant and then the boy disappears!I know that nothing can ever stop teenagers from having sex,but if they are gonna do it,they need to be more careful and start using protection.Girls need to be taking the birth control pills and make sure that the guy they are with are honest and will stay with them if anything was to happen.they shouldnt be havin sex with a complete jerk!Sex population is increasin so much,that even little kids around 6 or 7 are already having sex!!i know some of my friends little brothers or sisters are already having sex and they are only in like 1st or 2nd grade!I really think that is too much!

kk i'm 22years old and i started having sex at a young age i see myself as one of the lucky one cuz i didn't get pregant till this year .i am almost four month pregant. see what i'm trying to tell you is that you can't tell teen not to have sex but you can tell teach them wright and hope that they don't do the wrong thing by telling them to protect themself and try not to be to over protective of them. basically teach them then give them a little trust they will make the wright or the wrong one but it will help them grow up witheither choise they make .
