They might be pregnant, but they're still addicts.

With the addition of a little one to the family, the party might be over, but the adventure is just beginning -- but pregnancy isn't stopping these soon-to-be-mommies from indulging. And we don't mean indulging in a hot fudge sundae with a side of pickles -- we mean in smoking, drinking, even drugs! Along with a panel of experts, Tyra takes on a pregnancy intervention to help these women change their lives -- as well as the lives of their unborn babies.

NEXT: The Best Tyra Show Moment Ever!

Hey Tyra, I work in the hospital and what I think is that these sorry ladies that call themselves mothers-to-be are not considered mothers yet, mothers are excited when they find out their pregnant, fiance don't leave their unborn a cigarette, they don't mind gaining weight because it is a part of being pregant that's way they have Weight Watcher and South Beach diets or practice eating healthy,or get their lazy selves out of the house and do general exercises, such as walking light weights swimming, so deal with until its over. If they dont care about themselves and they unborn child now they are not going to when they arrive in world. But to make a long story short, someone should take them to a local childrens hospital with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and let them experience what it is like when you have to take care of a child that is a preemie or see what it looks like to see your child that is less than one day old on a respiratory ventilator that has to manually breathe for them because they chose to smoke instead of considering their unborn child.

Hey tyra, I love the show and watch it all the time. I loved todays show i was 19 years old and pregnant (unplanned) it took me a week to quit smoking cigs but the health of my baby was too important to keep smoking it wasnt hard at all i think that these ladys are making excuses and its ridiculous to me i bet they dont breast feed either!!! i did start smoking after 1 1/2 years of quitting but i still dont smoke around my son. these ladys are pathetic they shouldnt have kids if they cant sacrifice an sddiction for there kids thanks tyra for allowing us to exspress our veiws P.s These women need to pray about their addiction they might not be able to kick the addiction but god can take the addiction away.

I just wanted to make the point, that yes cig smoking is a serious addiction, BUT, like every addiction you are the one who needs to have a reason IMPORTANT enough to Quit.... Millions have addictions... millions have quit... My reason was my children.. unfortunately i didn't know how dangerous it was whenI carried my first two girls, but before I was pregnant with my third I was not feeling well and then decided If I was going to be here to raise my daughters I needed to quit. Basically... it was cold turkey..mind over matter... Also I had a husband who smoked, a sistr who lived with me who smoked and her boyfriend who smoked, as well as all of my friends.. I DID IT!!!! SO CAN THEY!!! THEY JUST HAVE TO DECIDE TO DO IT>>>

Tyra you have a lot of nerve saying anything about smoking. When you have no idea how hard it is to quit. But that just shows you how much of an air head you are.Stay at somthing your good at like taking photos. You shouldn't be knocking something that you've never experienced yourself. I smoked when I was pregnant with my youngest and no matter how hard I tried to quit, I couldn't. YET She turned out to be a perfectly healthy 8 pound baby. For you to be attacking anybody is just B/S. Because you you have no idea what you're talking about. How about offering these girls some help instead of offering them a f*cking headache!!

is there a place where you can watch full episodes of the Tyra Banks Show ? If there is, can you please tell me . Thank you! :) ♥

I watch the Tyra show quite often, but today was ridiculous. An Intervention? Only qualified professionals should be in charge of an intervention. It seems that Tyra tries to be a "counselor" well in reality she is really just judging these poor women who are dealing with an addiction. First, I think if Tyra wants to try to be a counselor, get some education on it because you were just judging those women and have no idea what they are dealing with. Second, get some education on addiction, you obviously know nothing about it. This show was just a disappointment to me. Yeah, of course pregnant women shouldn't be smoking, or drinking & drugging, but learn about addiction first and then do a show on it. And when someone doesn't agree to your "intervention" you just put them down. What is this????

Hey tyra its me again, you seem empathetic to all of your guest today except the cig smoker! What's the deal? Could it be that you and a host of others don't real view cigs as a drug! And recognize that some smokers need just as much help quitting as say a crackhead! Thanks again for listening

Hi tyra and fans! Tyra thanks for this topic, really guys it hits home for me! I am almost 6 myths pregnant and I smoke almost a pack a day, I have a 5 year old and I smoked with him. He was born with a cleft lip/palate and I feel it was my fault! So now I feel sooooo guilty and I'm scared to death of the risk factors. The father of this baby walked away, I just lost my job and I feel like I'm going insane, god knows I don't want to hurt my kids but I'm so stressed OUT! I don't know what to do, please believe I'm not making excuse but the cigs seem to help me not loose my mind! I pray for his health and ask god to help me with this, its just so HARD!! So please try not to judge these women, help them, build them up and encourage us to make better choice! Most importantly pray for us and our kids, trust when I say prayer changes things!! Thanks for listening!

I am currently watching your show, and I understand where the women are coming from regarding smoking and being pregnant. 5 years ago, I was pregnant and smoke 1 - 2 packs a day. During my 3rd month, I ended up getting really sick and got put on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. Anyway, my doctor told me that the best thing to do was to wean myself of the smokes instead of quitting all at once. So that's what I did. Unfortunatly, that didn't help much. My son was born 8 weeks early and he was on oxygen for the first week and was in the ICU for the first 28 days of his life. But in the end, I went from 1 - 2 packs to just 1 or 2 cigarettes a day.

I would just like to say I am currently watching this show and I feel really bad for the two women up there who are smoking while pregnant. I am a smoker as well and yes i smoked while i was pregnant. I talked to my Doctor and under his recommendation because of the problems with my past attempts at quitting, i was told not to quit cold turkey but to cut down as much as possible because just quitting would probably put enough stress on my baby to make me lose him as well if i tried to quit near the end of my pregnancy i could go into labour too early and lose him... I cut back to 4 or 5 a day and i have a perfectly healthy 10 month old. I ended up being induced b/c i was a week over due and he was over 8 lbs.. so now every woman ends up with children with low birthweight or health problems. My advice to anyone is to cut down as much as possible and if you can quit even better, I dont' agree with accusing pregnant women, who smoke, with murdering their babies.... i don't consider myself that way and I do care about my childs health.....

I just want to say that I had smoked for a while and my husband did too. He had a bad car accident and was in ICU for three days with out a smoke. So he quit and still does not smoke to this day. As for me I let him thing that I had quit smoke, but I continued to smoke behind his back for a year. He found out and was really mad. So I decided that I was going to quit cold turkey. I throw them in the garbage and never picked them back up. Smoking is not addiction it is something that you want to do. You don't get addict to them it is just something that make you think it calms you and it really don't. I could not even think about smoke sense I have quit. I can't even stand to smell the smoke or the odor on someone. It gives me a headace. Some people use smoking as an excuse for everything. And that is why they smoke. They got to really want to quit smoking to quit. I know cause the first time I tried to quit I start smoking again with in a coulpe of weeks. but the second time I quit, cause it was getting to expensive and hurting my health.

HELLO TYRA, THE GUEST ON YOUR SHOW TODAY BROKE MY HEART. I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE A 7 WEEK OLD SON, SO I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE STRESS WE GO THROUGH WHEN PREGNANT.THE FIRST GUEST CONTINUED TO SAY "SHE HAD BEEN SMOKING SINCE SHE WAS 14 AND ITS NOT EASY TO STOP", I UNDERSTAND THE ADDICTION ASPECT BUT AT THE SAME TIME, U HAVENT BEEN PREGENAT SINCE U WERE 14 EITHER. I HATE THE FACT THE SHE NEVER TOOK FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF WHAT SHE IS DOING. SHE JUST CONTINUE TO MAKE EXCUSES, AND THE FATHER SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF BECAUSE EVEN AFTER KNOWING SHE WAS PREGNANT, HE CONTINUED TO ALLOW HER TO EVEN HAVE 1 CIGARETTE. I CANT EXPRESS MY ANGER TOWARDS THESE WOMEN......JUST BE GLAD I WASENT THERE BECAUSE I REALLY WOULD HAVE LOST IT!THANKS FOR ALLOWING ME TO EXPRESS MYSELF.

those two girls who smoke while pregnant, someone really needs to shake them upside the head. everytime you take a puff of a smoke, the baby inside you stops breathing, the placenta starts to separate from inside and can cause the baby to suffocate if it fully separates therefore, you would have just killed your baby. no doctor OR OB would advise to persist in smoking while pregnant, they would encourage you to stop only for those 9 months of being pregnant, because they KNOW it is harmful to the child. They talked of stress, you want to hear stress! I was 18 when i got pregnant, still going to school, struggling to graduate, had the pressure of being pregnant as well, worried about whether or not my boyfriend and i can afford to have this child, worried about how to tell my mother, father, step mom, step dad, grandma, boyfriends parents and family, my brothers and sisters, struggling to afford things for my child...that is stress! EVERY PREGNANCY IS STRESSFUL! But you dont see every pregnant lighting up or shooting up some sort of substance to make things a little better. Life is stressful, children are stressful, pregnancies can be stressful. But its how you deal with that stress and go about it that make a difference. I doubt any of you smokers would willingly feed poison to your child when they are born, why do it by smoking when they are still in your womb. Because that is what you all are doing. Feeding poison to your unborn child. And you and your smoking habbits and your needs and wants are greater than your unborn child(ren). That is selfish, cruel and disgusting. The health, and well being of your uborn child should be at the top of your

Tyra, I am watching the show right now and I feel so sad for the unborn children. How could these soon to be mothers be so selfish? I am not a mother yet, but I know when that time comes I could never imagine doing something that will harm the baby. I was very sad to listen to the first lady on the show. I feel so sorry for the unborn baby and her othre children. She seems to have no remorse for the harmful things that she has done. How can she say that she is not a bad parent, not caring for your child's health is being a bad parent! I only hope that God will help these poor defenseless children.

Ok so I really wish i could have at least been in the audience to speak my mind. Right now im 30 weeks pregnant and i do smoke. i try to limit myself to 5 a day. I wish there would have been on OB that has been through this and knows that ok yes smoking is harmful to the baby. But any OB will tell you that stress is extremley harmful to the baby also. Im 20 years old and have been smoking sense i was 8 years old. Also my husband is deployed in Iraq, My mother is a suicidal Alcohalic. Now none of these are excuses but when you have this in your life, your stress level is extremely high. When i tried to quit smoking i was putting my child in more harm, because of the panic attacks, depression, and more. So I believe some people need to think about that. I dont judge people for things they do, i accept them, so dont judge me or other woman in this position. thank you have a good day, Jen S.
