I wonder if the people who claim to be against gay marriage, or homosexuality altogether, have actually read the section in the bible that concerns sex. I was reading it with a friend because I kept hearing "It's against God's law!" so I wanted to see for myself what all the hullabaloo was about. It turns out that the bible only states that a MAN may not lay with another MAN. Concerning women, they aren't allowed to have sex when they are menstruating and they aren't allowed to have sex with animals. In my bible, not sure of other ones, it says NOTHING about lesbianism. So...all you bible thumpers, look it up in your bible and see if it is different. I'd be interested to see if it varies. But according to me, people should do what makes them happy. Even if their families don't have the same orientation or believe in gay marriage, they should show that they acknowledge that their family member is happy and support that. I totally agree with Tyra in the statement that she made about prisoners getting visited by their families after committing atrocities to their fellow human beings. Why can't families support their gay family members when their decision only affects them and no one else (other than their partner)?

Tyra- My experience is that I was the one who could not or would not accept me for being in a gay relationship. I was brought up in Holiness and that RELIGION forbids homosexuality. This teaching separated me from God and it did not allow me to enjoy the happiness with the one person who has completed my life. I was not able to form a SPIRITUAL cinnection due to the religious fear I had developed for the vengeful and wrathful God that is portrayed in the religion I was taught. What I realize today is that God is a loving & caring God and that He loves me & accepts me for who I am. David was a murderer and God appointed Him as a king, and a great one he was. I will pray for Julianne's mother for her to be freed from the cult like thinking that she has developed due to her religious teaching. God's will for each of us if for happiness, to love each other as He loves us. Why is her mother so convicted by the doctrine of homosexuality ahnd yet she is not under conviction for the doctrine God has set down for us to love one another as He loves us? I will pray that she is able to break through her religious beliefs and that she becomes more God-like by becoming more spiritual.

I like your show, but don't always have a chance to watch it depending on my schedule. I was wondering if you have ever discussed plastic surgery and how it affects the person? I know you have personally had a nose job, and this interests me, because my daughter does not like the way her nose looks. She has commented that she wants to have surgery in the future. I have mixed emotions about it, and would like your input. Thanks.

hi tyra well me personal dont see whats wrong wid being gay i mean i like it an some people have reasons to lead to why they are i mean love is love to me if thats da path they take then ok..wel im gay n i have aproblem my mom dont know and i dont know how to tell her she dosent like gay people and stuff like dat but sum people tell me that im livin to diffrent life bkuz im one way round her than anotha when im not and im tired of that i wish she could just accept me as i am an try to atleast be understanding..its my life so i should have a say so i just need some advice to tell her..what should i do.

Hey Tyra: I was recently watching your show and the advertisement for the show on gay marriages kept running. You have some very wonderful topics on your program and I think the gay marriage is definitely something that needs to be spoken about. Unfortunately, it is always shown very one-sided, making the people who do not support gay marriage crazy people, who have no respect for people's rights. That is a very simplistic view. I oppose gay marriage and have gay friends and family members whom I respect and love because they are good people, not because they are gay. I don't respect or disrespect people based on their sexual orientation or the color of their skin. For those that truly believe in God's law, and that a man was made for a women and vice-versa, there a moral reasons not to support a gay marriage. There is absolutely no way, any couple of the same sex can procreate. And if this were the days before artificial "everything," most of us wouldn't be here! I can go on and on about this issue because the subject is so skewed on mainstream t.v. and we are looked at as bigots for our views. Having tolerance for EVERYTHING, isn't going to make our society a better place. We need to get back to the basics of letting God lead our lives and where we are going after this world. Our society is too concerned with the here and now, and how we can personally control all aspects of our lives and not enough with letting God have some control of our lives and our destinies. I hope for some more good programming from you and hoping some balanced programming as well!
