My friend's father was a pastor at a church for a very long time. Her mother was very involved in the church community, as well as her and her brother. Within the past year, her brother came out and told his family that he was Gay. Instead of being appalled and rushing him over to some holy water, they just talked. In the end, they decided that they will be there for him no matter who he chooses for love or anything. However, they will still not believe in his choices. I think that that takes strong courage and bravery from both the son and the family. They will always love and cherish their son no matter what. Oh, and I loved Kimmmay's post!

Tyra i am watching your show and personally as a teenage lesbian i thank you for what you are saying. Just becasue she is a lesbian doesnt mean anything and why cant her mom go to her wedding its the happiest day of her life so what if the person that makes her happy is a girl. And im sorry i was rasied in the church and i still believe in God and he will always be in my heart but im still gay and there is nothing wrong with it. I believe that every gay person is accepted in the eyes of God because he knew when he made man and woman that they would taste the apple and eventually they would become curious about their own sex.

As the mother of a lesbian daughter i wanted to express my thanks to you for being so accepting of all people. We can all learn acceptance. I understand the heartache of the mother in today's episode; however, she must remember that her daughter is a gift from God. He made her and He accepts her and so must she. Attending the wedding is not supporting the lifestyle that she cannot accept, it's supporting her daughter. I was so happy to see that the family attended the ceremony. My prayers are with all of them.

I too am a Christian and I believe that you should love the person but hate the sin. I am not for bashing homosexuals for the way they are choosing to live their lives because we all sin. And in God's eyes their sin in no greater than people having premarital sex and cussing. God wants us to love everyone, and not judge them. Those who preach the Bible should know that Jesus hung around the outcasts. He loved them because no one else would. I don't agree with homosexuality, but in this life that we live, it is not our place to judge the people who choose to live their lives differently. God is responsible for judging them. The homosexual community knows that it is not socially excepted and it is their choice for how they want to live their life. As far as Tyra and being raised in church... I think that if you are a fan of Tyra you should already know that she has liberal views and accept her for who she is. If you don't agree with her beliefs don't watch her show. But it's entertainment, and something to do with 2 hours of the day so I don't mind. This is a very controversial issue and not everyone is going to agree. But everyone should be respectful of others opinions. God will be looking at you and the way you choose to live your life. So instead of bashing the homosexual community for their sin, I believe we should show them God's grace and amazing love and forgiveness. Because if Jesus was walking the Earth, He would show them love and compassion.

Its Quite Rediculous How Mal-Informed People Are, Espically Those Who Think There Experts...And Its also ridculous how people pick and choose which parts of the bible to take litterally and which parts they dont...because in all honesty if we took every part of the bible literally we would all be dead..i a number of different ways. it says in the bible that if a child lies to his/her parents that child shoiuld be put to death, it also says if a women is not a virgin on her wedding day that they should be taken to their fathers house and be stoned to death. it also says it is an abomination for mixing fabrics...or easting shell fish....on top of all thease facts we must remember that the bible was writtten by mortal men. not by God...and its views are also a reflection of the time it was written in..so meanings of cirtin words have changed. for example an abomination at that time meant more or less unclean.it also says in the bible to love your neibohor as your self and that is part of the ten commandments.. but it seems that if a person is gay that commandment of love gets thrown out of the window, by that persons family, friends,and people arround him/her...there are many more things in the bible that completely discontend the theory of God hates gays. besides the fact that god him self said he loves everyone of his creations....so before you prach the bible, and use God as an excuse for your bigitry and dicomfort for people not like you. get your facts straight..because im shure the lord isnt happy about people using him as an excuse to break several of the ten commandments...Ive gone to church almost every sunday for almost as long as

After watching this show on Gay Marraige, it makes me feel so good. It means so much that Tyra is so accepting of gay people as I am one of them and that she does shows on it. It goes to show that no matter what your beleif, it is not wrong and there is nothing wrong with it. My primary concern about this show is not whether or not gay marriage is right or wrong. It's about how horribly the mother was treated because she believes differently than Tyra and the other guests. Does this woman not have as much right to her beliefs as the others on stage? She loves her daughter and spoke kind words about the daughter's fiance. She does not hate anyone. Who is Tyra Banks to tell this woman how she should behave towards her own daughter....to tell her "you can be a BETTER mother"? Who is Tyra Banks? She's a talk show host...not an all knowing superiour being. Not long ago things were different. Gay people were thought badly of, even murdered, for being gay. Obviously very wrong that this ever happened. God calls for us to LOVE all people. Now people who believe that homosexuality is not God's will for humans are treated as the "bad guys". Not all who believe in God are homophobes or hateful. It is possible just to have a different opinion and still love people. I wonder how far this change will go. How long will it be before Christians are not just being slammed by talk show hosts, but are actually being beaten and killed just because they go to church and read the Bible.

Tyra used the example that people visit loved-oned in prison who have committed murder. That is different according to the scripturs. That visiting loved-one did not participate in the murder(because they are visiting, not also convicted of assisting in that crime)so they are not part of that sin. I thought this show was great. It Really opened up my eyes to how opinionated people can really be. I understand that people have their own beliefs and religion and what not, but this woman floored me. I thought she was being very selfish in the way she approached the whole thing. Your daughter is clearly inlove. its 2009 people, be a little bit more open minded. Especially when its your own daughter. Loving a man dosnt make you more of a person. I was greatly disappointed with this show. Tyra you seem to push everyone to believe in a gay relationship. People that are religious and hold on to those beliefs like the mother should not be forced to accept the relationship. As a television host you should have an un-bias view on the show. Its not fair of you to do that to people who have a different view than you on national tv.

you fundamentalist bible people are the sick ones. being gay has nothing to do with being right or wrong. it's just a way of life and it happens all through out nature. not every married man and woman has babies or is faithful or upholds the SANCTITY of marriage (which is now a joke). marriage is about health, social, and economic benefits. once upon a time, it also had to do about love which no one can judge. lastly, if jesus talked to prostitutes and showed them compassion what makes you think he would treat a gay person any different? stop taking beautiful messages and twisting them around because some homophobic priest is telling you gay people will destroy the world.
