NEXT: Isis!

Dear Clark, Thank you so much for perpetuating the stereotype that "The South" is filled with people who CHOOSE to be ignorant and stupid about the outside world. I've lived here all my life, yet I was able to learn that when people were different, instead of admonishing them, I would learn and understand their differences, thus making me more educated and tolerant. It angers and disappoints me when people use that "I'm from the South" excuse. If you acknowledge that there is ignorance, you should have the sense to transcend it. Doing otherwise practically means you dont' care.

I watched this episode w/ Isis and a part of the segment w/ Clark really bothered me because Clark was backed into this corner where she was trying to be forced to say that God makes mistakes!!!!And even though I also dont agree with Isis lifestyle either.I agree with Isis statement that God doesnt make mistakes. He doesnt and he opposes homosexuality he has never condoned it what did you think the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gommorah were for, those cities were filled with homosexuality. people who lead these transgender and homosexual lifestyles will have to stand before the God a lot of them think condones this and made them that way and be told depart from me you work of iniquity. What makes them that way is a spirit of deception that has crept in and led them to believe that they are not who God originally intended for them to be. Also the statement about children born with sicknesses thats for a reason and only God knows how those children will impact those who they come in contact with. But homosexuality IS NOT something youre born with.

Yes, you are probably very right, God would be very mad seeing the hatred being spouted by so many people over this issue. Instead maybe people should try to accept what they do not understand, just like trying to understand things in religion. It is often said that God moves in mysterious ways, or God has some sort of plan we cannot fathom because we are only human. Did any of the naysayers here ever stop and think that maybe being transgender, or gay, or lesbian, of black, or muslim, or whatever is all a part of a plan just to see how we react and treat those who are different than ourselves? Maybe that's what this whole thing is all about. If we cannot find it in our own hearts to divest ourselves of all this hatred toward the unknown, then what chance does anyone have, no matter what side of any fence you may be? There are a lot of people posting here that have failed the test of being a decent human being.

shame on you! GOD is very mad and iam too.

Jeez, Lakisha, you have insulted many people with that one post. I am one of them. I am a lesbian, and I am so proud of Isis for what she did. She's gorgeous in her own way and is so brave for going on national television and saying, this is how I am, deal with it. I wish I had the courage to do that with my mother, but I am getting around to it. The world just needs to be more openminded and not be backwards like our ancestors, or even our parents, the baby boomers. My dad was against homosexuals when he was growing up, but is now being more open. So, shove it Lakisha, you need to open your mind. What if someone said that African Americans need to wipe off the foundation and join the rest of society as a caucasian? Or all the other religions need to stop and be christians? It's the same thing!

Who did she say was her best friend in the house?

Well, those are about the most intelligent comments I've seen in a long time! :-)

To CS, The real shame here is the ignorance and close-mindedness that you are willing to publicly display. As Michelle said, it is ignorance like this that gets people killed everyday. Why can't you just "stop trying to convince yourself" that being Transgendered is so wrong? I am a 47 yr old trans-woman who fought the same battle as Isis for 38 years. Being transgenderd is not a "choice" or a "lifestyle"...it just is. I assume by your comment that you consider yourself to be "straight". I also assume that you don't give much thought to that fact. For 38 years I looked in the mirror and saw the body of a boy/man standing in front of me while my brain told me I was a girl/woman. At 45 I took the same steps that Isis is now to bring my body and my mind into alignment. This, absolutely, is something that I would never ask for, never pretend to be or CHOOSE. This is the way God made me and I've taken the appropriate medical/surgical steps that God has made available to me, to correct my medical condition just as someone with cancer etc would. Open your eyes CS. There is much more to this wonderful world that God has given us than just the black and white that you CHOOSE to see.

Unfortunately you are completely and absolutely wrong. Isis is a woman. You are showing your ignorance and misunderstanding by not listening to what's been said on the show and also on this forum. You may not want it to be a fact, but it is. Live with it, or not, but that doesn't make it any less real. It is statements such as yours that kill people every single day with your intolerance. Why can't you accept that people don't all come out of exactly the same mold? We can be very different from one another and have many different challenges to face. Just be very glad you never have to face this one yourself.

Omg this is a shame. that is a man. not a woman. stop trying to convince yourselves.

Hi Tyra my name is najuma and I love your show. I live in Brooklyn,NY and you inspire me so much. I wanted to ask you how do you do your job so well with out being tired. You are very beautiful and I want to be just like you when I grow up. I go to I.S.252 in Brooklyn and I was hoping you can come there and give the girls and boys a speech about their future career, violence, teen pregnancy, and other things that teenagers need to know. that reminds me of the show when you were talking to some girls about having sex at a young age? And explain to them that saying people have diseases just for the fun of it is not funny. Im in a predcament very, very similiar to that and now no one talk to me. I mean I am propbably one of the healthiest student in the school. Another thing I want to say is to talk to the girls about their self image cuz I have been called names like ugly, pimpleface and hairy beast and it hurt my feelings, So Please.please come

I wish Issis the best. If she wants to continue modeling then she would of had harder times if Tyra hadn't given her a surgery. She would have extra stress to deal with in her own way along with trying to be the right age, height, skin color or weigtht. And YES a persons chart is made before they exit heaven, THEY choose ahead of time who what where when & how things happen in their life according to how much THEY plan to learn while on earth. Its like getting a degree bachlore or whatever THEY choose to show how THEIR time on earth was spent. YES we choose some hard things out of THINKING we can handle it but only in the end do we know how we do.

And to Tyra, I want to say thank you for being the incredible ally and advocate that you are. We, as Trans folks can use all the friends and allies we can find, especially those in influencial places like yourself. Someone said, in one of these posts, something to the effect that we trans people would not be afraid or ashamed of what we are doing if it was not wrong. Were it not for societies' general ignorance and close-mindedness wrt transgender issues I believe there would be alot alot less hatred and bigotry directed at the gay and transgender community as a whole. If people could just open their minds and embrace people FOR their differences rather than judging people based on their differences we would not have to live in fear or shame in the first place. It is only due to some peoples' perceptions of us that we fear for our lives every day when we step out into the public eye. Unfortunately there are those out there that would kill us in the name of their God just because of who and what we are, and that's the real shame.
