This reminds me of a bible account were Satan the Devil was attempting to tempt Jesus, and asked him, for "just one act of worship." Doing so, Jesus would have compromised his standards, and likewise, no doubt the mother felt the same way. The industry in which Tyra is a part, contains a lot of homosexuals, and maybe that is why she was so passionate on the subject. But that does not justify her attacking an obviously hurting woman, and violating her right to choose. Calling into question the mother's love for her child was unfair. The daughter was trying to force her beliefs on her mother; as this lifestyle apparently was newfounded, unlike the probable lifelong beliefs of the mother, who was expected to make a decision in three days.

I AM IN AGREEMENT WITH THOSE WHO ARE DISAPPOINTED IN TYRA. THE BIBLE STATES WHAT IT STATES. MANY WILL TRY TO INTERPRET IT THE WAY THEY LIKE; THEIR CHOICE. OLD/NEW TESTAMENT BOTH STATE THE SAME FACTS. NEVERTHELESS, DESPITE ANY DIFFERENCES IN RELIGION, JUST AS THE DAUGTHER HAS BEEN GRANTED BY GOD THE GIFT OF FREE WILL, LIKEWISE, THE MOTHER HAS ALSO BEEN GRANTED THE GIFT OF FREE WILL. WHEN THE DAUGHTER MADE HER CHOICE TO LIVE HER PARTICULAR LIFESTYLE, SHE WAS WELL AWARE NO DOUBT OF THE BELIEFS OF HER FAMILY, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TRIED TO CHANGE THEM. APPARENTLY THE PARENTS DID A GOOD JOB OF RAISING HER, SHE RECALLED THE GOOD TIMES THEY SHARED. EVEN IN THE AREA OF MEDICINE, ACKNOWLEDGING AN INDIVIDUALS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS IS PARAMOUNT TO THEIR WELL-BEING. THERE WAS A LARGE CONTRADICTION IN THIS EPISODE. MOTHER HAD NO RIGHT TO DISAGREE WITH DAUGHTER, DAUGHTER HAD EVERY RIGHT TO DISAGREE WITH HER MOTHER AND ASK HER TO COMPROMISE HER BELIEFS. WHY COULDN'T SHE LIKEWISE RESPECT HER MOTHER'S CHOICES, AND BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL SHE HAS DONE FOR HER IN THE PAST? OR HAS THE MOTHER COMMITTED THE UNFORGIVEABLE SIN?

I agree with the mom 100%. (even though i think she shouldnt have gone in the end) Thank God for Christians like her who are willing to stand up for what they believe and not waiver, even if her own family is trying to pull her down. i have been with my girlfriend for alomst two years and i have felt more love than ever in my life. my parents are christians and when they found out went crazy. i mean my mom and i used to be super close and now were hardly around eachother and it hurts alot. its so sad to have your own mom keep things from you or only invite my sister and not tell me about there outings. its crazy how much your family loves you when everything is going there way but once you do your own thing they completly cut you out. my girlfrind and her family are the only ones that are there for me and im completly greatful.becuae my parents want me to struggle and suffer to the max...

I don't understand how any of you think that you have the right to tell someone to be ashamed of themself and they are wrong because they don't believe the same things as you do. They could say the exact same things back to you as you are saying to them: you should be ashamed of yourself for telling me that my heart is wrong, that I have something wrong with me because I am different from you. Take a look in the mirror. The only thing you have to take all of your beliefs from is a bible that was supposedly written thousands of years ago. You have absolutely no proof that it was even translated as your god meant it to be. So unless you are saying that you know what your god thinks, you have nothing. You say that everyone sins so how do you know that those who translated your bible were of your god at all? You will answer that you have your faith, right? Well so do many gays and others outside of your religious beliefs.

I am appalled at this show. I have been watching the show for a long time, but after this show,I don't think I will continue to watch. Tyra, why would you have this mother come on your show knowing how she feels about this gay wedding and then pressure her into going to the wedding? You say you went to church and Sunday school, but that doesn't make you a Christian. Homosexuality is against what God says in His word. Yes, God loves us, and he give us freedom to make our own choices, but His desire is for us to CHOOSE to love Him and CHOOSE to be like Him. The thing that you and your audience don't seem to understand is that when people attend a wedding, they are not just going to see what the bride is wearing, to see what colors she chose, what kind of food there is or how many bridesmaids there are; they are attending as witnesses to a promise to God for this couple to be joined as one. They are not just "guests"; but God holds the people who attend the wedding accountable for the couple-that means, you are promising to pray for them, support them, and make sure they stay together. Attending a gay wedding means you are accepting the union. It means you support the union and you are willing to stand before God on judgement day and be accountable for the relationship. We have to be careful who we invite to our weddings just as those attending have to be careful about the weddings they attend. Im so tired of this being such a topic. ok first of all christians and even ppl from my own religion catholic really havent done their research. Tyra, you go girl! Don't get discouraged by these ignorant and uneducated people! It is way about time for people to just GET OVER IT! If you have a problem with the gay "lifestyle" then don't live it. Period. Otherwise, live and let live. Some people do not hold the bible in as high regard as some let alone think it can be taken literally. Guess what? That is everyone's right! Going to the wedding doesn't mean support for the gay "lifestyle" it just means support for her daughter. People never cease to amaze me, using religion and the bible as a crutch. JADE I so 1000% agree with you about being disappointed in Tara almost baggering the mother to go against her beliefs. She never said that she would turn her back on her daughter. She never said that she disliked her daughter's "partner" but what she did do is to continue to stand her ground was the fact that woman/woman, man/man relationships are absolutely without one doubt WRONG! True, everyone is entitled to their opinions and if Tara feels this is the right thing to do, more power to her. I am muslim and we can't read into the Quron things the way we feel should be intrepreted, but rather what we read is in fact not to be tampered with word-wise or throught-wise. So is the Bible. This book was written and not to be tampered with to a person, couple, group of people or mass of people to read what we want to think we are reading or to change the concept of what is being read. I absolutely love Tara's show and try not to miss one program but I really hope that she would continue to concentrate on the many different versatile issues that she has been concentrating on and bringing to the forefront. TO Ben: I think you are referring to the verse Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." which comes from the old testament, but the new testament states in Romans 8:1-3 "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh," Which is saying that the laws and rules of the old testament are now replaced by God sending his only son to die for us, and if we accept him as our savior, we will have eternal life. but it then does come down to how a gay person can accept God as their savior, yet show no desire to become like him, and being gay is definately going against what he says is right because he states in 1st corinthians 6:9-11 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?
