Beware the five diet-deadly scenarios of the college years!

We all know about the "Freshman 15" -- it's where those 15 pounds come from that's a mystery. You might only help yourself to the lightest fare in the dining hall -- but somehow those pounds are packing on. Dr. Daphne Oz, author of "The Dorm Room Diet" tell us how to avoid packing on the pounds!

Test Mess
A lot of times cramming your brain goes hand in hand with cramming your mouth. Study food -- one of college kids' biggest source of nourishment. During the day, you might have access to perfectly great choices but at 2am crunch time -- it's vending machine city. Just be prepared -- keep quality snacks like almonds, carrots and even a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips to munch on. Matter of fact, a combo of raisins, semi-sweet chips and almonds makes a pretty sweet and easily stashable trail mix.

Go Big Blue!
Tailgaiting is a huge part of college life -- it's also a huge part of why your diet can go south in an instant. A whole day of hot dogs, hamburgers and beers -- too much! While you don't want to bench yourself, you don't want to bulge yourself either. Instead, make sure the festivities have a healthy choice by bringing them with you. Fruit salad is always a hit -- diet or not.

Party Hardy
Your average college party isn't going to have a healthy tray of sushi -- you're lucky if you get a few pretzels for munching around the keg. To combat the crazy party pickings, make sure you eat something filling and healthy before the festivities. Also, once there keep a bottle of water in hand so if you feel the urge to snack past your full point, you can sip instead.

Gather 'Round for Gossip Girl
Watching shows with your suite-mates can be a great bonding experience -- don't sacrifice that! But definitely reconsider the mindless munching that goes along with your TV nights. Maybe plan dinner to be eaten during the show so you can plan out a healthy meal and not eat extra, needless calories.

Nighttime Noshing
The best part of living with people is having a gab buddy at any hour of the day. College can be drama and that's okay because you get by with a little help from your friends- - but you also get big thighs with a little help from your friends! If you and your roomie end up dishing until the wee hours of the morning, find something else to do to occupy you- - like playing cards -- instead of munching.

oddly the 10-ish pounds i gained my freshman year of college helped me. I was struggling from an eatng disorder throughout high school. when i graduated i was still close to being under weight. the weight i gained in college gave me curves. my self esteem is higher. i actually feel beautiful! :)

Hello Tyra, I emailed you guys before about the tickets to the show. One of your reps. did get back with me and told me to call whenever I was in New York. Well I lost the number and never got a chance to experience the show so I was wondering if you guys could call me again so this I can actually see the show. Thanks -Cee

Tyra, as a teen I would like to say weight is a "BIG" issue for most girls. We look at celebrities and see how they have the perfect bodies and how guys go crazy over their amazing bodies. We pressure and do dangerous diets to have perfect bodies like them. I have never been satisfied with my weight or my body. I always thought it was the way I shaped and how I developed earlier than most girls that wanted guys to date me. As I got older, I came to the understanding that my theory is true. Every night, I cry myself to sleep because I just want to love myself and my weight. Cna you help me Tyra???

Tyra, i was born with a malformation called Cystic Lymphangioma. My whole left arm is weird looking, swollen, and i can barely do anything with it. ive had 69 surgeries on just my arm. Not kidding! when i was little i didnt care what people said. it wasnt until 7th grade that i was self-consious. im a freshman now and ive worn a jacket for almost 3 yrs striaght to school. its getting in the way of my life. i want to be confident and not care but if someone even looks at it i put on a jacket and sulk all day. i need help. i want to be a normal teen and go to dances and not wear a jacket every single day. i need your help.

I think if not over eat, won't gain too much weight. but for myself... being over physically active. I can't do any sport work out, because I'm over active, so I would feel very tiring to do any sports.. I'm opposite from lazy, I'm over active. for now I would rather gain a bit weight, then do any physical activity. I rather just stay home more, and quiet down more. I rather be fat, then be hyper. It's good to feel quiet, stable inside, but fat outside; better then good figure outside, but over active and always feel exhausted. feel stable inside is what matters. how was it when i had good figure outside, but inside is like dark hell..

Tyra, Love your show and you are beautiful, but sometimes you appear cocky and like you love that you are tall, lean and beautiful. You are, just try not to let it show. Love your personality Tyra!

Trya, I love your show but am rather upset by the segment you did with Daphne Oz. She said she was 5'8 and 170 some lbs and was completely overweight. I can tell you that I have had some extremely hard times in my life but when I was 172 lbs I was a size 10 with my jeans falling off me! Currently I am overweight not only due to lifestyle but also meical issues (but am not afraid to admit it as I have lost 34lbs the HEALTHY way in the last 11 months). My point is that we need to make sure that girls understand that its not the "perfect weight" but rather a healthy lifestyle and size girls are comfortable with. Not every body style is made to be a size 2. As well as that no matter what weight, or size they are all women are beautiful. Please ensure girls know that PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Daphne said SQUOZE the artery? Her Dad must be cringing at how stupid she sounded. WHY would I buy her book??

Hey Tyra! Just wanted to say how much I love your show, and how inspiring you are to all of us young women! I have a question! So many people I know go to tanning beds a couple times a week...but I was wondering, is it as bad being out in the sun? What are other ways to have that healthy glow without using those creams that make you look streaky! Thank you so much! Audree
