I just saw your show today, wished that I knew about it previously, since we could have helped to give you some input of our experience's that we've had, so far!! Of course, we've been doing & trying alot of different avenues for my little one to get "discovered" too. At the age of 2, I started getting her into a local Pageant system from our city, she's competed for the last 2 yrs. now, she's 3, next month she'll be 4. She's enjoyed doing them up to this point, but this really hasn't helped to get her that much exposure for her career, but hopefully it should help on her resume. We have gone to a local "open call" from an Agency that came out to our area from PA,(Highlite Modeling & Casting Agency -in Scranton, PA) they liked her & asked us back for a photo shoot, the following day. Apparently they ONLY like the "professional" photos taken by this young woman & guy, that they are contracted with to do them. So of course, we PAID for these pics to be done for the Agency to the cost of $320.00 for about 20 photos of her. But she is in their Agency & on their website, but not much more than that, we've never received ANY responses/replies/inquiries back from this agency -or so called agency since doing these photos of her. We've also attended the "Great American Model & Talent Search" (GAMTSonline.com) too. Also at age 2, we missed going to their "event" for further exposure for her, in Pittsburgh PA, so we went later in the fall out to Los Angeles, CA to attend that event. Of course, we also PAID a fee for her to have "life-time" portfolio updates with these people, we are still

hey tyra my name is jacqueline and i live in norwalk ohio...i have been wanting to become an actriss since i came here from mexico...I m an illegal alien...i imigrated from Mexico when i was about 8 i have been here for about six years..i want to be an actriss real bad but all the odds are against me becuase first of all like i said im illegal..and i live in a small town in ohio where there are no places to audition..i went to an audition in Cleveland but i did not make it..i was sad but i'm not giving up..many people have laughed at me but..even if they do im not losing the tiny hope that i have for my dream to come true...and if some day i do i will show the people who told me i couldn't that i can, and i'm not a Mexicant! so if you could give me any advices or help me in any way i would greatly appreciate it...many people have also told me that im ugly and fat and that im not going to be anything in life!!

Hey Tyra, I am 14 and my birthday was in January and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to be an actress. I live in North Carolina so it isn't like I can just go down the street and audition for things. To audition I would have to travel and my family doesn't have enough money to do that. My family does support me and stuff, but lately it seems that they are trying to get me interested in other things like guitar and writing. I don't think they understand how important this is to me. Tyra, What is your take on Barbizon Modeling? My wife and step-daughter have committed to payments and begun the classes already. However, I see an awful lot of negative when I google this company. I felt comfortable leaving it up to my wife until I saw your show today and the statement was made about paying money for this sort of thing. Is my wife getting ripped off?

Hi Tyra. I entered my 1yr. old daughter (Myah)into a modeling/talent contest that was held at our local mall by an agency called Model Productions. She won the preliminary & then the agency requested I pay $150.00 for pictures as part of the final contest. I paid and got to keep the negatives. After the final contest, I was sent a 1yr. non-exclusive contract w/this agency (until Myah recieves 3 jobs). I am now requested to order & pay a minimum of $150.00 for casting cards at $1 a piece. (The agency is out of Miami, Florida. We are in Virginia.) I am suppose to send back the contract along with 15 of each size (total 30) casting cards. I would keep the rest. It is also stated in the contract that auditions for out of state jobs would be held online or by video & if Myah received a call back; at that time the agency would pay for us to go. I've heard,"if it's ligit, you shouldn't have to pay anything." Do you know of this agency and does this sound like normal procedures? With Gratitude, Victoria

Hi Tyra I am a mom of a ambitious teen who would love to act and sing, but my problem is that I could not find a place that have what I am look for,for her with out someone saying you should pay up front. I live in a big city and to weed everyone out is hard. I really am leary to help her in this but this is what she wants and I need help to assist her in her dreams.
