I see nothing wrong in this young woman's decision to sell her virginity. I don't understand the outrage at this choice either. Many young women her age lost their virginity in less than ideal circumstances all the time. Especially college aged-women who yearly engage in lewd debauchery during spring break. Why is this different? Just because their is a million dollars involved rather than some mardi gras beads, for example? There is nothing inherently valuable in virginity. Like everything else in life, it is only as "special" as you want it to be. Virginity as a construct is heavily influenced by religious values so if you aren't religious, are you supposed to buy into it? I applaud this young woman and I see her as being fully in control of her sexuality and her identity. It is people like Tyra and the audience, who easily cowed by popular opinion, can not construct a coherent argument against the merit of paying for virginity.

It is such a shame to auction off any part of an individual body. A human being is priceless. Once her virginity is loss to whatever amount she could never gain it back. This is rediculous. Priceless Tyra. This young lady is educated and still doesn't get the just of the importance of how priceless she is. So sad. She could become a millionaire and still be a virgin. Sheesh.

It's interesting how women, when the motive is strictly money, try to convice themselves that it's a feminist movement and that they are embarking on their sense of empowerment. I can respect the decision more if she would be honest and say it's because of the financial benefit, end of story! Also I do realize that their is a stereotype of virgins but just in observation only, this girl had a certain arogance as well as an air of confidence of her ability to please a man. Hmmmm maybe she not quite as innocent as she letting be known. I believe she and her sister talked about the potential of how much money could be made if the claim of virginity was introduced. As for being so "intelligent", I think finding a way to do this without having to give away 50% of what you make would be brilliant. Case in point don't hide behind your schooling or your moral reasoning call it what it is. You want to sell your body for some big bucks no matter what the cost.

i just wanna say im 25 years old not a religious person and still a virgin. i hate judging people but i must say what this girl is doin really pisses me off.its proving one more time that sex is not only about love but money. all i hope is that she wont regret it cause thats something you cant have back. money cant buy everything and love and dignity are one of those things. i rather stay virgin all my life than give it to someone who just dont deserve it. if there is more girls or boys like me please dont be ashame be proud of it. i know its not always easy but im sure its worth it.

I never understood why women feel that prostitution is anti-feminist. If anything, this has to be an idea that men created so they can have free sex. I have always been embarassed for men who visit prostitutes and strippers. Why would you pay for something that women get for free. Women, would YOU pay for sex? Men are so notoriously obsessed with it that you'll never have to. Would it be better for her to give it up to someone she loves only to have him later break her heart? Virginity is over-rated. Money doesn't just make the world go round, it is essential to survival. How can you judge this girl who has had the strength to save herself, and then found a way to use that to improve her quality of life.
