NEXT: One Dress, Five Ways

I'm from a small town in Georgia and Clake has no idea what she's talking about. Ok yea I've only run into a few transgender folks and gays...they are accepted just fine. (Welcome to 2009) The elder folks tend to turn theirs noses up..but as a young adult I feel like I've grown up knowing that people are different and to accept everyone as how they are and the decissions they make!!!

Clark is very ignorant! How dare she use the fact that she is from the South. I'm from Starkville, Mississippi and very open-minded about the things that go on in the world. There are even gay and transgendered people in Mississippi as well. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia the southern capital of gays and transgenders. This happens throughout the country not just in the west, north, or east. Girl get educated before you start to open your mouth because you look really stupid!

ok this is for clark from the show and one of your posters here named sharen and for all of those who wish to quote the bible as a sheild for their disgusting ignorance. if you dont like people who are diffrent then find some place far away from them and all of you can build a giant wall around your little utopia as thick as your ignorance and closeminded hearts desire. the catholic church and christianity in general has persecuted people for their diffrences since the inquisitions and this is why todays society has suffered so badly. if you look into history previous to the 1500s you will find TONS of trans gender people, gay, lesbian, bi sexual. the romans even encouraged homosexuality or bisexuality in their warriors to foster love for the person they were fighting with as an incintive to fight that much harder to keep that person alive. it is the fault of the cristian faith that humanity is so clse minded on other religious view, sexuality, life styles, even until the 60s color was seen as a reason to seperate the tribes of man. if you want to quote a single passage from the bible then by all means go ahead but be prepared to follow EVERYTHING in there. this includes not laying with a woman when she is at that time of the month. not eating anything with a split hoof. the list goes on and on and on. you people amaze me in your idiotic behavior in thinking someone wont call you on these facts. you pick and choose what you want to use against those you hate and try to say it is gods view. im glad that i dont believe in the same god you do because of these very facts.

OK, so let me understand this exactly, Tyra used the example of the girl on girl kissing to prove that people should not have a "double Standard" when it comes to each other! Ok, and she also said that the southern Baptist church would ex-communicate the girl if they found out she had kissed a girl, so,,, i am curious, is she agreeing that indeed it is WRONG for a person to change who they are, and to lead a life other than what God intended, by referring both as examples for the other? Just as she said,, oh look you are not perfect, and you kissed a girl, so therefore, you are not perfect, so dont judge others??? HELLO, we all fall short of the glory of god, but that doesnt mean that we go on TV and promote, or normalize what is truly wrong in the eyes of god. We all do things tht are sinfull, but to use one person's sin to justify someone elses is just Plain wrong. I truly feel sorry for our younger generation. People are not born homosexual, it is a choice, i am not perfect , by any means, but i will not try to validate my sins by spotlighting someone else's sins!!!

Here is my belief on transgender people, Like Isis said, God does not make mistakes. I truly believe that transgender children happen because of genetics. Homosexuality is by choice, there is a big difference. There was a time when couples had to have a blood test done before they were married so that if there was any thing that could affect their children they would know about it up front. Blood tesets aren't required anymore so what ever genetics are passed down to the children are sometimes not found until after birth. I believe transgenderism is a brithd defect caused by genetics and not a mistake made by God.

Tyra....I enjoy your show and I think you have a wonderful caring heart! I appreciate what you do. However, you said something today that bothers me and I feel the need to tell you. Today's show is with Isis and while I admire her for her work, I disagree with her lifestyle. That doesn't mean I want to blast her, I wish her well! This comment is not about her, I worry that you suggested while talking to Clark, that God makes mistakes. One thought, God wouldn't be much of a "God" if He made mistakes now would he? He would be just like us. Be careful Tyra...please....God doesn't make mistakes! WE create the travesty and tragedy that we face out of our disobedience, not live with God's mistakes. I think you are great, but please rethink or clarify what you mean by saying GOD makes mistakes. Thank You for what you do, thank you for a fun and informative hour! Thank You for allowing my comment even if you disagree with me!!

I leave in the South (TX) and i was upset by the comment that Clark made...born and raised in TX and i have seen it all. I work retail in a store for young women and we always have transgenders, gays, white women with black men, black women with white women, black women with black women I MEAN EVERY THING.... and i am not uncomfortable helping them when they need me.I think Clark just put a wrong name on the south. Here in Houston,TX I know for the majority people are welcoming no matter who you are.... I am proud of ISIS, she is making the world see the struggles gays and transgenders have to go through. KEEP PUSHING THROUGH !!!! =) ******Clark made the choice to kiss a girl and it was a double standard, she needs to reflect on her actions before being judge mental!!!!******

Isis you are very beautiful and I am sorry for all the pain you have to feel everyday of your life. Im happy that you are being who you know you are inspite of the closed-minded people in the world, just know that there are people who except you for being who you are. I know how hard it is to be transgender, I watch my cousin go through so much crap everyday. She has a hard time getting a job. People wont touch things that she has touched at the grocery stores. People give her dirty looks and say horriable things to her and about her. I am the only person in our family that is 100% behide her in being who she really is, so she comes to me and tells me everything that people do that hurts her. I love her so much and just wish that people would stop being so closed-minded and just except people for who they are even if who they are isnt what others want them to be.

I don't want to sound as ignorant as Clark, but she looks more like a man than Isis. It is ignorant, intolerant people like her who make gays, lesbians, transgendered people feel they have to hide. As a gay man I spent half of my young life hating myself and thinking I was going to hell for being who I am. Luckily I got past my issues and have accepted who I am. Sadly there are so many others who could not, and are no longer here. Like Isis said, people are free to have their personal/religious beliefs, but there is a point when expressing those beliefs becomes inappropriate. Actively trying to hurt others is just wrong, and is more telling of who they are. I love how Tyra called Clark out for being a hypocrite. I hate how people pick and chose their religious views in order to justify their hate. I am glad that Isis has come forward and brought this issue into the light. Hopefully as people become more exposed to diversity they will become more accepting.

Im just sitting here watching your show and I had to turn the channel for one of the first times. Seeing Tyra use the same attitude that Clark was being put on the spot for was ridiculous. Yes, Clark was out of line for her comments done forever ago when that show was on the air...but she apologized. Being put on the spot about your beliefs in god and being laughed at by Tyra(which was prob. her mentor at one time) and a whole studio audience is just absurd. Shame on you Tyra sometimes your so sincere but you are also judgemental just like the one's you attack on your show.

My name is Sharen Mitchell, I am an African-American lesbian and I live in Charleston,South Carolina. Unfortunately, there are a lot of residents across the state who are of the exact same opinion as Clark. The transgendered/gender queer community in SC is actually pretty significant and Tyra was ABSOLUTELY correct in saying that some move to cities that are more accepting. The LGBT community in SC has been forced to live in one of the largest "glass closets" in the country. I myself do not hide the fact that I'm gay and will share it with anyone who asks. But, I still "live in the south". Many of us are "After 5". From 9-5 some play it straight because our careers may be affected. South Carolina currently has no active laws banning discrimination based on sexuality. South Carolina is an "Employment At-Will" state. Therefore an employee may be fired without reason. If discrimination is suspect, it is up to them to prove discrimination laws were broken. LGBT residents don't have this luxury since "sexuality" is not included in these laws. Isis was ABSOLUTELY correct when she stated that transgendered residents in SC hide their identity. A majority of them "pass" until their transition is complete. Some may lead double lives. We in South Carolina continue to fight hard for change and to educate our state on acceptance without exception. I love Charleston. My family has been here since the 1880's and I'm not going to leave because it would be "easier" somewhere else. This is my home.

As I continued to sit and listen to Clark's statements I became even more pissed as time went on. The fact that she kept saying she was from the south as an excuse to her ignorance was really disgusting me. I am from the south, Mississippi at that and I have ran across many gay/lesbian/transgendered people so I don't see where she gets her facts. Has she not been to Atlanta because if my memory serves me correct that is a part of the south and it is the home to many of the people whom Clark says "hide or move away". I feel that it is people like her and her closed minded attitude that make others look down on the people of the south. When she looks back on the things she has said she is going to feel very stupid, and to you Clark do not include the SOUTH in your tirade of ignorance, accept responsibility for your uneducated comments because not everyone in the south feels the same way you do. Thanks

I for one do not believe that God makes mistakes. People make decisions on how they want to live such gay. As far as Tyra's example of a child being born with a disease there are many factors that play into that and because God is who he is he may use that child's life to get the parent to come to repentance or someone else close to that child. I do believe we need to respect people for their life decision but we don't have to like them or approve. I don't approve of gay, transgender or any other lifestyle that is not ordained by God.

Tyra...i am a 38 year old trans woman, i accepted this truth 5 years ago, but i almost didn't make it, i have attempted suicide several times in my life...i wish i could have seen someone like isis on t.v. when i was young..perhaps i would have been able to be who i am at a younger age and didn't suffer the way i did...tyra..you have saved lives by having isis on the show and i love you more than ever...god bless you!!! xox
