I am sure she could have done something different. Being a single mom is nothing new these days. Women are taking care of 4 and 5 kids on their own without resorting to prostitution. Its never the only option its the easiest option. Its the quickest way to get money. To me is just like making the choice to sell drugs. You are doing something disgusting and justifying it as your only choice. Its a cop out plain and simple. I am sure she could have worked if she wanted to there is no doubt in my mind. Her sister sat on that stage and told her she would help. She wants the lifestyle more than she wants anything else.

I think Tyra was right, my mom was a prostitute wile pregnant and when she had me and my 3 brothers and sister and we all where mad at her for it. she could have done other jobs and she now admits that she felt like it was a way to get easy money.

Hi i watched the show and also agree with the comments. Tyra is supposed to be an inspiration to help people. All she did was criticize the poor girl and then cut her off by going to commercials while she wss talking saying we gotta take a break. I believe that tyra should have offered Alana help like counseling to get out if she deicided to. This girl does not have family support and she has a lot of courage to go on national tv and tell her story she does not need anymore people judgeing her and telling her whats wrong. She just wanted Alana to say that she was un happy at the Bunny Ranch well not every prostitute out there is unhappy.! I am not saying that what Alana did is right but i am no one to judge her and neither are u tyra instaed of incouraging her all you did was forecfully try to manipulate her. I have never seen Oprah judge her guest they all have different stories and should not be judged

I think she did what she did now she is a rolemodel she needs to do what she feels is right not what everyone tells her to do

What did the innocent, in-need baby ever do to you?? And yet you give away vacations to people who accidentally called your cell phone number. But you can't afford to buy a simple bad of diapers or food, anything? Out of the $23 million you made last year alone?

Dear Tyra, First of all I love your show. I am from Trinidad and Tobago and I am a teacher. I teach at a girl school. Regarding Alana's dituation, I have to say that I feel more sorry for her than upset. It made me realise that positive role models are very important. I know that if she had more positive role models around her, her entire life would be different. I mean having sex at 16 with a guy who clearly does not care about you must be hard. Lessons have to be learnt and I do hope that having a baby will give her a new perspective on life. I hope she listened to your advice and the testimonies ahred by other women. I hope she changes her life and in so doing the future of her daughter.

Dear,Tyra I LOVE watching your shows but for this show I think you judged too harshly. I may not be a mother but I know my mother and many other mothers will do everything in their power to take care of their baby. In this case she became a prostitute.

Dear Tyra I can't judge Alana, and you shouldn't either. no one should. Aside from the fact that she was a prostitute and might continue, she is a woman that has suffered. Her family turned away from her, and the father of her baby antagonizes her and denies paternity. That alone is emotionally battering. Everyone that was supposed to love her be with her in times of need just walked away. She did not have unconditional love. Pregnacy is supposed to be the happiest time in a woman's life. For Alana, this probably the most desperate and agonizing time of her life. She had to provide enough for her and her baby, bills and expense pile up. This just causes worries and its healthy for pregnant woman. What did she do? She became a prostitute. She made enough money to have a roof over head, a doctor to treat her, food so her baby would develop, and baby thing for when the child arrives. Yes these are material things, but she can't give her child a father who would for nine month be estatic about her birth, or grandparents that would cue and cuddle this baby with love. Aside from a being a loving mother and an unconditional provider she cant offer anything else. Yes she is selling herself, but I believe that just looking at her daughter and it seems worth it. alana might not want to be a prostiute, but for her daughter she did it and might do it again. It seems that her only support group is her "pimp" and fellow coworkers. I'm sure she wishes they werent the only ones there for her.I'm sure she's aware of the fact their support has a monetary interest. She's not stupid but she most likely prefer having them

I love watching Tyra and I also think Tyra does a lot of great things for people in general! BUT I do have to agree with some of these coments!! I thought the point of a talk show was to inform people on a genre of topics. Sometimes when I am watching Tyra I feel like I am watching one of those lousy judge shows! It is ok to express the fact that you do not agree with what this young lady is doing with her life but to make her feel like absolute garbage was pretty extreme...to be honest I got disgusted and felt sorry for this young girl and refused to watch the rest of the show! I've also seen the same situation on the show with teen pregnancies. The young girls who were pregnant (who already felt horrible about themselves) were made to feel stupid, meanwhile, the young girls who were saving themselves for marraige were treated like saints and best friends by Tyra! Just wondering ..... did anybody see the episode of Oprah where she interviewed Brooke Taylor from the Bunny Ranch? I know Oprah doesn't promote or like prostitution BUT I bet Brooke Taylor was much more comfortable being interiewed by Oprah than Tyra! Afterall no mater who does or doesn't agree with what people on these shows do with their lives.... it is their decision!! It is their life!! Tyras disgust towards these people probably won't change their minds, but it does seem to be bothering her viewers!

I have read a lot of the comments about the show and i see most agree with me. Now i would like to know if Tyra reads them if so I'd like to know if she has any regrets the way she treated Alana and her boss or does she even care..or is she blind to her own faults? and i would like to know if she has anything to say about all these comments...or does she not care what her viewers think?..

uhh, i think trya had a good point,okay this girl has a freaking SUV flat screen all the "material things" you guys all feel bad for the prostitute. ITS HER FAULT! will smith was raised from welfare, and lived in the slums. LOOK AT HIM NOW! he's a billionare. okay this girl is jsut stupid, she had some many oppurtunities but obviously the joy of exploiting her body is more important. she doesn't deserve her baby girl. plus, she lies. she couldn't give a straight answer and looked flustered. you could tell by her body language she had no clue how to back her situation up.
