It's time for Prom 2009!

"The Tyra Show" is dedicating an entire hour to all things prom. Three prom princess hopefuls compete in a race in hopes of winning an entire prom package, while a dateless girl is surprised with an on-set "prom-posal" from her secret crush. Tyra meets a girl fighting for her right to style... who sued her school district after her principal told her she couldn't wear a tuxedo! Watch as Tyra gives her tuxedo a "DIS-GUSTING" makeover. Hi Tyra! I loved this show! I read all the comments for this section and saw one comment saying something like this, "what you did today was make girls feel they had no significance if they dont have $200 or more" that's not true, or at least not to me. I was VERY pleased to see that show due to the fact that my parents have been separated for about 6 or 7 years now and Mom supports my brother Jose M, 11. My Sister Aileen, 10 and myself, Maricruz, 18. See, my mom has been rasing us partly on her own because my dad doesn't really help her as much as he's supposed to he gives her about 100 IF lucky weekly for the 3 of us and thats supposed to cover food, etc. As an undocumenented family, our opportunities for work are less. My mom works at a taco stand and i work in a "mariachi band" my mom doesnt get paid even minimum wage and well in my job, work isnt always guaranteed. with that job i try to help with what i can, buying my own personal use stuff. Im now Senior and I joined the school Senior committee so we have to raise money to have an amazing prom. the problem is that most likely prom will be amazing but i might not be able to even go because I can't really afford my dress or even the 'Senior Fees' and well it sucks because I've been waiting for this ever since i knew what PROM is. lol. but I guess. Either way I still have some faith that maybe, hopefully I can raise money for my dress and shoes and anything else i need for prom . We've settled a date for prom and

I really like this episode Tyra. I love what you are doing. Helping the less fortunate can be one of the most refreshing thing in a persons life, and knowing the type of person you are Tyra, i know it gives you joy. I know that there are alot of girls out there who wont be going to prom because of financail problems but those that you help will surely enjoy their prom. I am senior too and i know how it is just thinking about what hairstyle to get much less what dress you gonna wear.Keep doing what you are doing, its better to give that receive. Hope to meet you soon.

hey tyra, this was a good show, but not my favret for it brought alot of emotion to me. Though i am not old enough to go to prom i have a family friend who has there prom in 2 weeks. She is going through kemo for cancer. I know what she is going through yet i can not feel her pain, her boyfriend is good enough to look past tell her she is beautiful which she is and they are going to prom. the reason i am telling you this is because you normally dig deap and find the people who trully deserve the amazing prizes you give away. But i trully think you could have look harder and found someone who has more then just money, teeth problems and so on with problems like that.

tyra and staff my daughter and her friends were in the audience for the prom show they had a great time, THANKS for the show and thanks to all the sponsers!!!, you/your staff wanted dress/prom photos we are not sure where you wanted us to post/send them, can someone get back to us via email, this was our first trip to NY, we had a great time so many things to see and do for such little money, we had such a great time! Hope to come back again

omg!!!! my prom is coming up on the 5th of june. im so stressed out over what hairstyle to get. i like one hairstyle that tyra sported but i don't know anyone who can hook me up....i need help!!!!

Heyyyy my name is Amanda and i love in new jersey in a little town called keyport i am so fustrated because prom is coming up june 5th i already have my prom dress and shoes but i am going so crazy trying to figure out what hairstyle to wear i have hair that is so easy to work with but frightened to go to a hairstylist and it might come out ugly i need some help pleaseee help!!!!

My senior prom was last Saturday and it suckkedd. I had pictured me and my friends dancing having fun but it was nothing like that. I didn't take digital camera pictures with my date because me and my friends where all supposed to meet to take a big group picture but they ditched me, they just said we'll meet you later for dinner. When dinner time came around, they were almost rubbing it in my face how they took so many pretty pictures and i should've been there but they didn't even invite me. At dinner they would just talk amongst themselves and i felt like they didn't even want me and my date there. I felt so out of place and so did my date. And it was like that the whole night, both of my friends took picture after picture after picture in front of my and didnt even bother to tell me to be in their picture. My date felt uncomfortable and didn't want to dance, so basically my senior prom was ruined because of my friends. =[

May 06, 2009 Tyra, Have you seen the movie,"Shopaholics"? Girlfriend, when are you going to have me something to model from Morilee's Bridal? They have my whole entire bridal team on their movie! Morilee's Bridal is a place I worked before as a Model and a Franchisee in Lubbock, Texas and Dallas,Texas on Mockingbird!Tyra, do you have anything for me to model back from Morilee's Bridal? They can not be giving away any of my bridal dresses for free! My room on Flatcreek Drive in Richardson, Texas was NOT free from Margaret Joyce Spears! So, Mr. Chandler and Dr.Laura Chandler from Hollywood Theatre in Garland, Texas need to have me something to wear or model from Morilee's Bridal. Dr.Laura Chandler seem like a good Doctor M.D. but so is my Biological Mother, from the front cover of the book "Donna Alward" and her name is Dr. Rochelle Medici, MD Neuro-Psychologists! i always thought you had the bigger picture in mind. what you showed on your show today is if you dont have more thant $200 you cant look fabulous for your prom. where was, what i can do with $75 or if i had no money? most people watching today wanted what they saw. shame on you. back in 1978 i had no money, i went to sears got this drop dead gorgeous gown for grown-ups and made it my own. it was $9.99 it had a bear back it was beautiful.i worked 2 jobs for that gown. what you did today was make girls feel they had no significance if they dont have $200 or more. great job for the few you gave free stuff to. what about everyone else. i heard you say were in finacial hard times, but nothing showed it.

please!! Help I Am a single widowed mother I spent alot of money on my daughters prom dress and some other. Girl bought the same dress please Tyra can you help us out, my daughter has been crying as a mother it breaks my heart but I have 3 other children to support and In these hard times I just can not buy her another dress again. Please help the prom is May 8th
