And the model that came out on top is...

Like so many of you, we were glued to our dvr's last night as the finale we've all been waiting for took place. The three top contenders were all ferocious so it was clear it'd be a fight to the photo finish. Indeed, it was as each girl tore it up in her own way.

First up of course, the Cover Girl commercial and photo-shoot.

The commercial shoot was much like many Top Model commercial shoots of the past - - some girls turned it out while others turned it off. Surprisingly, top contender Teyona let the pressure of the commercial get the better of her, but still managed to pull of a killer shot in her photo-shoot. As if we expected anything less from this fierce faced beauty! Also sort of surprising, the shy Allison managed to crank out a good commercial too, even after getting off to rough start.

Too soon, it was time for the final three to face the judges. With so much good stuff to work with, even the panel of experts had a hard time deciding who's time it was to fly back to the States, without a chance to stomp the runway. Aminat received praise for her commercial, but yet again failed to deliver a picture-perfect photo. She found herself next to Teyona, whose appearance in the bottom two was a first for her. Even though Teyona broke down about her disastrous commercial shoot, her killer body of work and fab photo won her a spot in the top two, and she said goodbye to her bestie, Aminat.

In the last challenge of the cycle, the two remaining girls donned itty-bitty, Brazilian bikinis and took to the runway. While the judges later admitted they thought Teyona would not only stomp the runway, but all over Allison in this challenge - - they were proven wrong. The once terrible-walker Allison tore it up! But the big finish had the models writhing in oil at the end of the runway. Teyona worked it, even though her weave gave up halfway through. Her crawl toward the big finish even gave Tyra chills.


The decision between the top two was by no means an easy one. All the judges remarked about how neck and neck the two ferocious ladies were. But alas, only one can be on top, and the title went to Teyona.

Congratulations, Teyona! You deserve it!

Tyra, I am SUCH a fan. I just turned 40 2 weeks ago & am a SWF. You are not only "really pretty" as Allison said, you are really real and really nice. I have tried to find a place to leave feedback for Next Top Model but never found any. Nor did I find the WTF place you mentioned on your show with Mario. However, I hope you read this! Thank you for making women even more beautiful and confident. And thank you for only having models on your show that are not mean to the women. Paulina was mean and that wasn't pretty to watch. How about asking Cindy Crawford to do a season? That would be awesome. Today is the first time I'm watching the Tyra show and I love it. Thank you for giving all of us women a role model who is "really pretty" outside - and inside. Lynette in Boston

TYRA!!TYRA!!ALLISON SHOULD HAVE WON!!!! she has lots of fans! in youtube, almost all was rooting for HER! u said it..YOU WERE PROVEN WRONG! then why not make her the WINNER? U liked her pciture most when u became their fotographer! oh my!!! SHE should have WON!! SHE TAKES LOTS OF GOOD PICTURES! she can improve her walk..and besides..TEYONA DOESN't have GOOD ATITUDE!! GO ALLISON!! she's the best for all of us!!

Have you lost your mind? Allison was the winner! She had the most different look and was so much better than the winner! What were you thinking? The other girl...what was her name...was so predictable and was not interesting at all!!! Really what were you thinking? I thought AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL was to find someone different, someone who would bring a cutting edge to fashion....Tyona really? I think you must have had a hang over!!!! and the other judges must have been on dope!! You must have had a total moment of insanity....I don't think that this program is really what it is intended to be...a program to find cutting edge models to inspire and encourage people who think they can't win to truly win...Allison was so far superior to Tyona it was laughable and I truly do not know what you guys were thinking> Did you have a hang over or something? Truly dissapointed in your decision! Tyona could have been any model and Allison brought diversity and interest to the forefront! Really????? I cannot believe your decision! Absolutely bizarre even on the runway with black whatever Allson performed better than Tyona! Good Luck on that choice! You may like her but I think America didn't agree with your decision to make Tyona a supermodel! Minimal at best unless you use your influence to support her, she will never make it on her own!! You will never know how dissappointed America really is with your decision! ALLISON ROCKS! TRULY ROCKS!!! You may smile with your eyes but you must have clouded contacts!

OH hell no!!! Tyra is theee best!!! And Tyra does everything she can to help! She is a role model ok! And she does not take out her anger on anyone. Naomi was a true b**** to her and Tyra never did anything wrong. She is forgiving and a good person. All tyra wants to do is to help young girls gain self-esteem and self-confidence and a person who does that is a grrreat person so "tired of tyra" don't you diss her!!! D

I agree with Whitley 100%.Allison should've won.Teyona was a complete wreck.yea teyona won but whos gonna remember about her??Allison didnt win but shes got so much support.shes gorgeous and will book like crazy.GO ALLISON!!!YOU ARE A WINNER

For those of you who say Tayana won because of her pics, as Tyra has said many times before on Top Model: Being a model is not about taking pretty pictures (or winning challenges, booking all the go sees and having all the judges like you), its about personality, versatility, and passion. Although Tayana clearly had the passion to win the competition, Allison's passion showed greater. How so? By her consistant improvement every week. Allison went from a complete wreck to a picture-takin'-runway-walking-outspoken-commercial-performin' model. Tayana, on the other hand, did take some pretty pictures (IMO, the only picture she did well in was the full face color mood one) however her ability to remain consistant and improve from week to week fell. Example: Tayana failed in her first attempt at a Cover Girl commercial, and then again in the final challenge with the new Cover Girl commercial that, BTW, is suppose to aire nation wide. Allison failed in her first attempt, but greatly improved on her second attempt. Tayana may have had the passion, but in truth she didn't really give it her all the entire time. I mean, Allison out shined her in the runway challenge. Although Tayana fulfilled (to the judges anyway) the photo shoot/challenge wins/booking go sees part of the competition, she failed to obtain and real memorable trait that makes her the Top Model that people look for and saw in the earlier cycles. Allison had that memorable trait, and even though she didn't book a go see, her model-eques look will make up for what she didn't gain. That being said, me being an African American woman and a fan of both Top Model and The Tyra Show, I truely feel that Allison should have won based on her consistant improvemts which should have shown

ALLISOn should have won the title of america's next toop model!! she is unique and had a personality like noone i have seen on the show before. nigel, miss j, paula, and you have made two, TWO, bad choices in a row and i am not going to watch the show anymore if the judges keep giving the title to the woman who does not deserve it. i am only 14 years old and i know my older sister and mom feel the same way as i do.
