topmodelFINALE.jpg

And the model that came out on top is...

Like so many of you, we were glued to our dvr's last night as the finale we've all been waiting for took place. The three top contenders were all ferocious so it was clear it'd be a fight to the photo finish. Indeed, it was as each girl tore it up in her own way.

First up of course, the Cover Girl commercial and photo-shoot.

The commercial shoot was much like many Top Model commercial shoots of the past - - some girls turned it out while others turned it off. Surprisingly, top contender Teyona let the pressure of the commercial get the better of her, but still managed to pull of a killer shot in her photo-shoot. As if we expected anything less from this fierce faced beauty! Also sort of surprising, the shy Allison managed to crank out a good commercial too, even after getting off to rough start.

Too soon, it was time for the final three to face the judges. With so much good stuff to work with, even the panel of experts had a hard time deciding who's time it was to fly back to the States, without a chance to stomp the runway. Aminat received praise for her commercial, but yet again failed to deliver a picture-perfect photo. She found herself next to Teyona, whose appearance in the bottom two was a first for her. Even though Teyona broke down about her disastrous commercial shoot, her killer body of work and fab photo won her a spot in the top two, and she said goodbye to her bestie, Aminat.

In the last challenge of the cycle, the two remaining girls donned itty-bitty, Brazilian bikinis and took to the runway. While the judges later admitted they thought Teyona would not only stomp the runway, but all over Allison in this challenge - - they were proven wrong. The once terrible-walker Allison tore it up! But the big finish had the models writhing in oil at the end of the runway. Teyona worked it, even though her weave gave up halfway through. Her crawl toward the big finish even gave Tyra chills.

The decision between the top two was by no means an easy one. All the judges remarked about how neck and neck the two ferocious ladies were. But alas, only one can be on top, and the title went to Teyona.

Congratulations, Teyona! You deserve it!

ohh pliz. will u just grow up. y do pple always seem to have a problem when a black person wins??? i dont hear any1 complaining when a white person wins. lets not forget tht teyona produced some of the best photos in topmodel history, was always kold up in the top three thru the competition. so hey, the best girl won. dont be hatin.so what if teyona was too good for modelling. dont forget she already has to work harder than ol the otha models in the industry jus coz she's black, unlike allison who'll make it easily coz of her color. and by the way, lets not forget tht 8 WHITE girls out of the 12 cycles have already won the title. is a lil chocolate too much for your predujiced selves???

Tyra I'm writing to you because I need to thank you. My daughter who is now 7 loves you and top model and talks about how she will be on the show and does her runway walk all the time when we watcht the show together. But I wanted to let you that in one of the season I cant remember which one I want to say season 8; but anyways it was where the girls did a photo shoot on second hand smoking and ever since Malaya(my daughter) has seen that she preaches to everyone especially her dad that if they smoke they will die. She vows never to smoke because she doesnt want to be ugly and have her hair fall out like in that photo shoot. So, I just wanted to say thank you and let you know that it isnt just young women and older women that you have a lasting impression on but also children and young ladies. So again thank you for having such an impact on my daughter on a such an important subject like smoking!

I recently saw the commercial for Canada's Next Top Model...and I found it quite amusing. It starts out as manequins on an assembly line getting put together, all identical and perfect. Then Jay Manuel suggests we break the mold to find the next top model, and yet the models look almost identical to the manequins. They each have their own beauty and personality, but their body shapes appear all the same. I love the fact that your next season of America's Next Top Model is for short women, and the idea of a plus size season would be even more amazing, but how about bringing some of that inspiration to Canada? If you had a Tyra Show episode dedicated to Canada and Canada's Next Top Model, Canadians would be so excited to watch it! Did you know that here in Canada we can watch American channels and shows such as American Idol, America's Next Top Model and America's Got Talent, while Canada's Next Top Model, Canadian Idol and So You Think You Can Dance Canada aren't even heard of in the States? Americans should be introduced to these shows, and have the option to watch them!

i know the finale aired a while back, but i never commented on it. i REALLY wanted Allison to win

Dear lovely Tyra, I don't know where else to contact you, except for in these comments, because I know you read them. I know how much you love to help people and I'm not one for asking for help, but I've come to you. I'm 20 years old and aspiring to become a wonderful photographer/model. Everywhere I go my camera is right by my side. I cannot become a model because I'm short (5'4''-5'6'') and I have tattoo's on my body. I would love to be able to model for an agency for girls that are different with an average size body and that have personality, not just a perfect body and a face. So, I know that my modeling dreams aren't too hopeful because of my height and my tattoo's. It saddens me how one sided the world is about models. But I guess that's life. On the other hand. Photography. It's the one thing I absolutely love to do. I dream of being a famous photographer some day. Like your photographers on ANTM. Every day I take pictures of things and people. Posting them on Deviantart.com, hoping someone will come across me and want me to take pictures for them professionally. I can't currently go to school or take Photography because I am trying to save as much money as possible (which is hard to do with a 7.40/h wage) to bring my wonderful husband back to Michigan to be with me so we can get on our feet together. He is currently, unfortunately, in Pennsylvania (where we were before I came back to my mothers in MI) trying to work hard and save money so he can make it back here to be with me again. I haven't seen him in three weeks since I left PA

dear tyra i want to a model myslef can you help me be a model like you did when you were 15 years old. plaeuse help me. get a agency, just like you did that guy that was a male model.but i want to be a female model. i want to on tyras show.so you can help me.

Hi, I would like to state that I'm a 58 year old female. I think the show is great! There will always be a positive & negative reaction to everything that is done on the show. Just take time to really listen as well as you hear. Be fair , when Tyra suspects a harmful and negative response from the judges; she would immedately address it.She is a builder of self esteem, and believes in equal opportunity to all regardless or skintone or economcial situations. Mr. J goes out of his way to help the girls.Follow up on some of the girls from the show, they are better people from being there.Keep it up Tyra. May God bless and keep you.Oh ,by the way i'm BLACK.

This is for Emily, who stated that Teyonya won because she is black end of stotry", um Emily have you watched for the last few seasons? even the last season where Mckey won?? it is not about black or white it is about who was best. Allison came a long way but she did not do the best. Stop the racial thing, please.

The only thing that really bothers me about this show is the way beauty is portrayed in the media. I have yet to see a slightly overweight, short or every day woman come out as a "top model." I'm a young adult and I believe it's time for us to redefine beauty. It's not all about perfection and flawlessness. Are our imperfections not what set us apart and make us beautiful? Thanks.

Its amazing some of you pple can even post comments here and be so negative. Tyra is making her money the best way she knows how and for that she deserves all the respect. Some of you need to go read a book or something to improve on yourselves, your spelling skills and your English before you come here and be so negative about other pple and their weaknesses, or "your perceptions" of their weaknesses. Teyona was great and deserved it, Allison improved and if the show was longer, then she might have improved all the way to the top... all in all, find what you are good in, rock it, and stop hating on other pple. Its Tyra's show and whoever she wants will win it!!!!

Interesting. I wasn't aware that crying and having emotional breakdowns on a consistent basis equated to wanting it more than someone who had more self control over their emotions. Allison had a quiet, meek personality. And yes, there have been caucasian winners in the past, however, a little google research shows that every three winners are African American. That much is quite blatantly obvious. It's more of a quota that they're filling at this point. Personally, I believe Americans should have the final casting vote on the winner, merely because Tyra has a very bias opinion on who stays and goes. It's no secret that Saleisha from a few cycles back was acquainted with Tyra at age 14 while attending Tyra's Model Camp, and was also in a Wendy's commercial within the five year time frame that she wasn't supposed to for entering into the competition. Favorites, anyone? It's painstakingly obvious how this show runs and if you want to equate everything to the 'whites' as being racist and 'jealous', what does that say for those of us who are neither jealous, white, black, or even female? This show is supposedly about models who make improvements, and that is exactly what Allison has done. She improved and overcame a lot of the fears she came onto the show with. Sure, Teyona was 'consistent' but there's another word for that: stagnant. She stayed the same and didn't push herself to any max or extreme. She's already reached her peak while Allison has been consistently getting BETTER. But all in all, this show is about entertainment, and I guess that's the only real accomplishment I can say this show has attained.

teyona won because she deserved it and she wanted it so bad. Alison is good in her own way but she is not expressive, always looking down and naive, she was only in the competition because she was improving everyweek and those of you who are disappionted at tyra should be disappionted at yourself because you dont know what high fashion is. Teyona is what high fashion needs. love you tyra

I am happy that Teyona won she had great pictures and rocked that runway haha she was soooo fierce!...alison had great photos and looked dcute on the runway but i felt like i was missing something from her... she seemed like she wasn't confident always so shy and quiet..... but all in all both are great! Oh and by the way im MEXICAN for al you people claciming that my gurl tyra is racist u racist people
