ANTM Cycle 12: Finale

And the model that came out on top is...

Like so many of you, we were glued to our dvr's last night as the finale we've all been waiting for took place. The three top contenders were all ferocious so it was clear it'd be a fight to the photo finish. Indeed, it was as each girl tore it up in her own way.

First up of course, the Cover Girl commercial and photo-shoot.

The commercial shoot was much like many Top Model commercial shoots of the past - - some girls turned it out while others turned it off. Surprisingly, top contender Teyona let the pressure of the commercial get the better of her, but still managed to pull of a killer shot in her photo-shoot. As if we expected anything less from this fierce faced beauty! Also sort of surprising, the shy Allison managed to crank out a good commercial too, even after getting off to rough start.

Too soon, it was time for the final three to face the judges. With so much good stuff to work with, even the panel of experts had a hard time deciding who's time it was to fly back to the States, without a chance to stomp the runway. Aminat received praise for her commercial, but yet again failed to deliver a picture-perfect photo. She found herself next to Teyona, whose appearance in the bottom two was a first for her. Even though Teyona broke down about her disastrous commercial shoot, her killer body of work and fab photo won her a spot in the top two, and she said goodbye to her bestie, Aminat.

In the last challenge of the cycle, the two remaining girls donned itty-bitty, Brazilian bikinis and took to the runway. While the judges later admitted they thought Teyona would not only stomp the runway, but all over Allison in this challenge - - they were proven wrong. The once terrible-walker Allison tore it up! But the big finish had the models writhing in oil at the end of the runway. Teyona worked it, even though her weave gave up halfway through. Her crawl toward the big finish even gave Tyra chills.

The decision between the top two was by no means an easy one. All the judges remarked about how neck and neck the two ferocious ladies were. But alas, only one can be on top, and the title went to Teyona.

Congratulations, Teyona! You deserve it!

Tyra I just want to say you have doen so much for me i watch you on top model and i listen to what you tell the girls and i learn from that. The last model search i went to they wanted me to do but i couldn't but im ok with that :] the fact that they wanted me was enough I'm not going to stop going to them. My dream is to model maybe its for me and maybe its now but ill keep going until they are tierd of me:] i learnd to present myself in a new way and i have to say it was amazing and i have you to thank for that. I will be listening to you more and trying new and different things i never would have done befor and i just want to say thank you well wish me luck on my next one love halley :]

Hey Tyra I love ANTM i know this might be far fetched, but since your going to do an all short Top Model would you be open to doing a Plus size Top Model. I know that you have a Plus size model on the show but they never seem to get very far because they are competing with other girls that look nothing like them. I've always wanted to strut my stuff on the runway or take "disgusting" photos, but I've never had the courage or the chance to make that dream happen. I'm 25, so my chance for modeling is pretty much over, but I know that there are other beautiful plus size woman out there that would love to have that chance. Its just a suggestion, probably one you have heard before but I just wanted to express my feelings. Thank you so much Tyra you are an impression to me.

So I'm constantly watching ANTM and The Tyra Show.. I'm pretty much hooked! The decision to make Teyona "America's Next Top Model" kind of threw me off. I don't know if the panel had something against Allison but I thought she was the most clear choice..Teyona might have wanted it more but isn't it America's Next Top Model, not America's Next Top 'who wants it more' ??? :/ I'm sure the judges know more though... :) just letting it out there..

i was very upset when fo went home.:( that was my girl! i am so excited for the new show!! i was watching it yesterday. i want to model so bad but im scared i wont make it all the way. alot of people tell me i shoud join but i dont know how to get myself started, i was at 6 flags one time and these guys stped me told me i should join and that they will vote for me. so random

I've been watching ANTM for a few seasons now and I always enjoy it. The drama in the house is funny as hell and the girls are always in such wide range of beauty, I love it. I was very inspired when Whitney won a while back, it proved to the world that you don't have to be scrawny and emaciated to be beautiful. I remember being the thick girl in my group of female friends when we were young. I always had more booty and more booby. They were all a size 2 or a 4, I never was. It took me years to accept that it was part of my culture to have some curves and to stop fighting it. I am half italian. I had a lot of problems with self acceptance. I made jokes and kept up a false bravado to cover it. Now I know I am beautiful. Thanks for the help.

Allison was so good, she blew every one a-way in the last performances she gave. She went from "who is that :s" to " who is THAT :O" her transformation was so beautiful to watch and at the end she really was the best. Teyona was always the same hardly an improvement in the whole competition She wasn't better at runway show (au contraire!) and her face just doesn't sell, Allison is loved by every one. I did love when she was anounced second she immediately went "good job Teyona" and she was just happy with what she had accomplished. I wished every one could have that sense of handling things. Allison is an inspiration. Not Teyona

I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that Teyona would win. I thought Allison or Aminat had it in the bag, and I was like, "What the hell?!?!", when Teyona won. Teyona is unforgettable and their is nothing special about her. Her photos were average, if that, and I have no idea how she won at all.

I just wanted to say, I saw a show w/ people saying how ANTM was inspiring and I do agree, yes, it's fun to watch the 'drama' and I love seeing the pictures they come up w/, but the girls are so different and rare, I know Tahlia inspired a lot of people w/ her scars, and I loved a couple seasons ago when they had a girl on w/ aspergers syndrome. My 5 yr old son has autism, but most people would never know it. He is very high on the spectrum, but I know there is no real cure and it is something he will have to deal w/ the rest of his life, he has different way to learn things, and though he has a rough road ahead of him, he is a fighter. I'm so glad she went on the show to show others that different and unique is not bad or scary. My son is a gorgeous, sweet, loving, compassionate, funny little boy and I really hope people will see that and look beyond the veil of autism. Thanks for looking beyond the 'pretty' when you select your contestants.

are you kidding me? Celia should of NEVER gone home, and she should of won. but she was sent home so Allison should of won. Tyra, you absolutely chose the wrong person. I'm not saying this by favor, but really, did you think about this?
