Don't be a hater on FB!

If you're like us over here at "Team Tyra" we are constantly updating our Facebook profiles and "friending" old faces. Facebook is awesome, but there can always be a little too much of a good thing. We are broadcasting every detail about our lives 24/7 online now and it seems like there is no such thing as privacy.

Here are a few etiquette rules we think everyone should follow when using Facebook.

  • Only tag a photo of a friend with their permission.
  • Only make friend requests of people you actually know -- not complete strangers
  • Relationship status changes must be mutual
  • Do not write inappropriate stuff on your friend's walls
  • Don't over "poke"
  • Do not leave your Facebook page up in communal places

Well a Poke on Facebook is like when you want to walk up behind or by someone that you havent seen in a while and wait for them to turn around recognize you. Like when they turn around it's like an OMG moment! That is how I took 'Poking' or it could be perverted as well!

hey tyra i wanted to explain poking to you....when you message someone you are writing them whatever you want to say to them and when you poke someone you are just kinda saying hi without saying anything that you wanna say.if you dont have anythin to say but you wanna say hi you poke someone. Then theres superpoke which you can do MANY things....flirt with, hug, fling a thong at,party with...theres like 100 different things you can do.hope that helps you

Tyra, Oprah had the man on her show who started facebook and he said poke on facebook means they want to know what you are currently doing meaning to update your status has nothing to do with flirting as many think.

heyy tyra i love your show very much..!!i watch your show everyday

How hypocritical of you to have Levi Johnston on. What did you think would come of this "informational" show. How can you exploit a relationship that left a child with one parent. I'm sure he didn't call you asking to appear, I know you said no money was involved, but again what were you trying to prove? Trying to make Sarah Palin look bad, well god forbid if the chosens kids, Sasha and Melia ever got in some trouble whether it be smokin weed like the Bidens or a pregnancy like Bristol and the baby daddy don't want to be involved are you gonna bring him on? They had sex, she got pregnant, and if her mom believes in abstinence does that mean the kid does? Ratings aren't worth hurting someone, hey are you gonna give Bristol equal time, probably not.

Everyone is under the impression that a "poke" is a sexual gesture but it really isn't. A "poke" is when you are trying to get that persons attention for something, like "Hey! Pay attention to me!". It could be that you found a friend on Facebook but you aren't really sure if its them or not, so you "poke" them and they have access to your page for one week. If it's the right person, then they will know who you are and in turn, add you to their friends. Creepy people over use it, but a normal Facebooker will use it for the above reasons. Anyone who thinks a poke is sexual, might have a complex that they really need to get over. Come on people, enough with the innuendo's, take it for what it is. Its called a poke, like a poke in the arm, not a poke somewhere else.

I think the general purpose of this, at least in the beginning, was to kind of say hi to friends that you haven't added yet, let them know your on facebook and that you should become friends on facebook as well. Nowadays, its used for anything. It's just a little thing fun that facebook decided to have on their website. It doesn't affect anything else on the site.

Hey Tyra! I enjoy watching your show, I remember you back on the Fresh Prince! :P I saw you asking about what a "poke" is, so I came on to share it with you! With a poke, you can discreetly contact someone not by a message, but just to let that person know you are thinking about them! One thing that is fun though is poke wars, which is simply poking people back and forth. I have friends that I've poked with for about 3 years now :P

I thought a "Poke" was when someone is not your friend on Facebook, so they poke you in order to gain access to your page for a couple of days if you poke them back...IDK! I love facebook though!

Hi Tyra! Love the show. With a poke, at least before they made all the changes, when you poke someone, you can view their profile without being their friend for up to 30 days if I'm not mistaken.

It amazes me that the people of this great country amuse themselves with shows such as Tyra's. What good does it do to give a young person who has an illegitimate child time and exposure to tell his sexual history to the world? The laughter, etc. left me sick and I was NOT watching the show -- instead I watched the brief video on the Internet. To spend your time inside watching such garbage and adding to the wealth of this woman is why this great country goes downhill daily.

A poke is a sexual gesture.
