Don't be a hater on FB!

If you're like us over here at "Team Tyra" we are constantly updating our Facebook profiles and "friending" old faces. Facebook is awesome, but there can always be a little too much of a good thing. We are broadcasting every detail about our lives 24/7 online now and it seems like there is no such thing as privacy.

Here are a few etiquette rules we think everyone should follow when using Facebook.

  • Only tag a photo of a friend with their permission.
  • Only make friend requests of people you actually know -- not complete strangers
  • Relationship status changes must be mutual
  • Do not write inappropriate stuff on your friend's walls
  • Don't over "poke"
  • Do not leave your Facebook page up in communal places

You know what crumbles my cookie.. when people OVER comment on my pictures/status'... I mean an album with 100+ pictures and they comment on every single individual picture!! Really? is this necessary? and a recent situation that just happened.. this girl (in a psycho hospital f.y.i) was sick of the argueing my sons father and I did on our status'.. so she posted a HUGE blog about it and deleted me off her friends.. but she wasn't too bright because my bf was still her friend on facebook! than she decided to create millions of AIM Screennames and repeatedly IMed me yelling at me because we deleted her from his friends list.. facebook sometimes has tooooo much drama.. I feel like when i delete a friend off the list or block them completely, they will just disapear into thin air or something. Its the ultimate slap-in-the-face.

People should not play on facebook in the middle of a college class. I pay money to go to school and learn so I can get good grades and eventually get a better job. It's very distracting when the person next to me is freaking out because he just figured out what skype is and of course must call all of his friends IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS. Summary: use facebook at appropriate times and in appropriate places.

a "Poke".. a poke is simply a way to say "hey baby.. ;)" like if you were sitting next to someone and they kinda poked you..

Hi Tyra!! I was lucky enough to catch your show on my last day of vacation, and as a Facebook lover I would like to offer my opinion on what facebook "poking" is: a discreet way of initiating conversation with someone who you may not have spoken with in a long time, possibly ignored, or are clueless of how to begin the conversation. I hope this helps! I love your show! Keep up the great work! By the way Tyra, I thought you may like to know that I am getting married to my soul-mate on April 10, 2010 and facebook is responsible Love always, Vinita

What exectly is a "poke" on facebook? Ill tell you. I'm a facebook expert lol. A poke is quite simple actually. Alot of people overanalyze what it is. A poke is just something people do because they were probably thinking about you while they were on facebook at the time. They poke you just to say hi without actually saying it. Its pointless beacause all they have to do is send you a message.

Hey Tyra! I love you show! But, a poke basically is just a simple way of stoping by and saying hi!

POKE. The biggest thing about the poke - if you poke someone you are not friends with, they can see your profile for a month (or some time like that). So, people may poke in hopes that you poke them back and they can see your profile.

Post a comment is not responding to soemone's wall post. If I post "How are you?" you should not post as a comment, but as a wall posting on my page. I don't stalk your page to see if there is a response.

Tyra, I've always had a dream of becoming a model but I'm short (5'0) petite with stretch marks after two kids, I'm 28 yrs. old now and just decided to give up those stupid dreams. Plus I live in Milwaukee, WI and nothing good ever comes out of where I'm from. I've had it bad my whole life and have come to face reality, I'll never make it. I just find it inspiring how women like you have that drive to make it no matter what. You are a strong woman to me and I hope you inspire our future generations like my daughter to be whatever they want to be,unlike some of us where it is what it is like it or not. Thanks for your show I love it, stay cool.
