hey tyra.my name is kami and i am just slightly overweight.I dont really see it as a problem since i dont get tease really and i have lots of friends.I also have two average size guys fighting over me right now so my life is pretty good.Oh btw i am 13 going on 14 next week

Hi Tyra, Unfortunately, I missed your show, but am very interested in seeing the episode. While I have never been over weight in my life, I have been teased for other areas of my appearance that some may consider flaws. I have always felt horrible though for those that are teased for being overweight. Obesity is a disease, just as is cancer. That's like making fun of a kid for having luekemia. Sure, obesity can be treated, but like any other illness- it's not easy. The illness within itself is life threatening. And while a person can control their diet to some extent, it's very difficult to eat healthfully in a society where HFCS and Saturated Fats are in so many foods. And these unhealthy ingredients have become socially acceptable. If I go out for friends with a pizza and order veggies for a topping, my friends tease me to "live a little and have some sausage and pepperoni". NO! I know everything in moderation, yadayadayada, but why are people forcing others to eat unhealthily? I wish that the government could seriously make some reforms on foods. I mean banning some foods. Would they allow people to eat ingredients that have been proven to cause cancer? (Well, excluding aspertame >:0) No. So why can't we make healthier foods? And make them affordable?! I've been blessed with a family who supports my passion for healthy foods. But our grocery bill is SKY HIGH! It's not fair to people who can't afford these prices- they're forced to forgo healthy foods! The obesity epidemic, in conclusion, deeply saddens me. People say they know it's bad, ect., yet, they don't do anything to prevent it. There's nothing wrong with having a different shape, I'm all for it! Curves are awesome, but so is health.

Hi I am 15years old and im 259 someone help me aka_candygurl@yahoo.com

Hello ladies, First off I too got very emotional watching the show. I know exactly how they feel. When I was their age I was overweight and had the dark neck. I still do. I also have irregular periods. The dark neck is called acanthosis nigricans and it is one of the many symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. I was heart broken and happy all at the same time. Happy to know that I knew that something was really going on and I looked it up and read all of the symptoms and couldn't get over how many times I said YES to each of them and found support message boards. It was great to get to talk to other women going thru what I am going thru. If anyone wants to talk, don't hesitate to email me. mo_place@hotmail.com ~ Maureen

Dear Tyra, this show was amaizing. I didn't realize how much sugar we as society was eating in our daily lives. Since then I've been looking at labels like crazy just to see how much sugar I'm putting into my body. I'm 26 and I'm trying to loose weight to improve my health. I was wondering if you could post the products the one guy used that were low in sugar. I was very interested in the soda that contained steevea, because I can't have anything with aspartame in it, which is in diet soda. So if you can post it it would be helpful. Thank you, Lisa.

Hey Tyra! I was watching your show on overweight teens & my eyes instantly filled w/tears. I relate to those young ladies all too well. I too was a young overweight teen, & now face the same issues as a young adult; & thanks to your show I'll now be looking into the darker pigmintation on my nape. I'm a PROUD big girl, but still I face the challenges of morbid obesity. Unfotunately, I've recently lost my job, therefore, losing my medical insurance-which in turn terminated all plans I had for gastric bypass. I STRONGLY feel that for many reasons I'm an advocate to the phat girls of America & I'd LOVE to keep in touch somehow w/your guests so that together we ALL can overcome this journey. It's not easy, but with the support of those who understand, it makes things a LOT easier...PLEASE let me know if there's anything I can do to be of ANY assistance/motivation for these young ladies.

hi tyra my name is ashley im 15 yrs. im from new york city. I watch your show everyday at 5. I think your show is very inspiring to teens especially myself! Im obese for my age im 5"6 and about 257 lbs I play softball in my school and whenever I play I loose weight, but when I don't play that's when I gain weight. I have a problem with weight and I want to know wat I should do dat would help me.

i missed the episode but my friend is two away from Tyra. We go to the same school and she is the sweetest girl and everyone that knows her likes her. I really wanna catch the episode..is there anywhere i can go watch it at? love guera

I can totally realte to most of these teen when it came to their relatives making fun of them HOWEVER, I have got to say that when the doctor started to read out the "ideal" weight for these girls I began to get MAD. I have battled with some body images when I was younger, and according to their guideline because I am 5'1 Im supposed to be somewhere in the range of 135lbs. Listen Tyra I am a Mexican American young woman who wieghs 145, I have no back fat, love handles....NOTHING like that. However I am still conidered to be overwieght??? WHy i dont know, but I feel supper confident, and I know I am beautiful. Not only that but I am healthy and by that I dont mean I eat salads or count calories....because I know I can't live without a dang cheeseburger......I mean I can run up and down stairs without running short of breath. SO I think that you should be judged by how much you should weigh only by your height because other factors play huge parts on your weight such as your background like samoans,

I missed this episode. But really want to watch it. Is there somewhere I can see it at?
