Live happily ever after with a shot gun wedding!
He put a ring on it -- congratulations! And what's more, you're not wasting any time and are just cutting to the chase, heading straight to the altar. Naysayers be damned, a quickie wedding can be done -- as long as you do it right. Here's a few ways to say "I do" without a full year's worth of fuss.
Compromise Conundrum
If it's more important that your wedding is soon, then you need to realize it might not look exactly as you planned. The first step is to consider an "off" month. During less popular wedding months, venue prices are slashed dramatically. Also, you could go with an off day -- like a Friday or Sunday. If you save money on the spot, then you have more in your budget to put towards "untouchables" -- like your dress.
Printing Pressed for Time
Instead of waiting for your invitations to come back from the printer, print them yourself! There are a lot of "do it yourself" invitation kits at craft stores and no one will ever be able to tell you printed them on your PC. If you won't forfeit the invites, at least save time on the favors. The favor company will most likely be able to get you un-personalized favors way faster than personalized ones and it'll be easy to add ribbons and tags to them yourself.
DIY on the Fly
While it might seem like a huge time/money saver to do things on your own -- it's not always the case. For a frazzled bride-to-be putting her wedding together in only a few short months, adding on more projects isn't a good idea. So if you're going to DIY, make it count. Flowers purchased in bulk are more cost effective and you're going to have the whole bridal party (and then some) all together for a rehearsal anyway, so put them to work on your centerpieces. No time is wasted and your fiancé's burly brother arranging roses can provide some comic relief.
