Tidy up and create more space in your home.

If the piles of books and the disheveled arrangement of beauty products just make you want to toss everything out that you own and call it a day, don't reach for the trash bags just yet. We've got a few ideas to make that clutter go poof and give you a clean and more organized home.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Those old kitchen canisters you never fill any more easily transform to hold your cotton balls, q-tips and other toiletries, so get them out of your kitchen and clear off some counter space.

For that jumble of wires that's taking over your desk like a patch of bad weeds, look to the old shoe hanger you never use any more. If your shoes relocated to a bigger, badder standing shoe rack years ago, take the one that used to be draped over your door and rededicate it to your electronic plight. Organize all your wires in to different pockets in the hanging shoe rack and clear them off your desk.

Downplay Your Doodads
We're all guilty of colleting too many hair products and souvenirs and other itty-bitty junk that seemed so important at the time. You don't have to toss-out all your hair products, (although you should consider losing that five-year-old tub of Dippity Do,) all you have to do is wrangle them. A decorative tray is an added beauty bonus in your bathroom and organizes all your goodies into one spot. Same goes for the side table in the living room. If you know this spot's a culprit for dumping your keys, change and other pocket-bounty, slide a little tray or even a plate with a little lip on it to make the miscellany marvelous.

Put a Label On It
It might not be a direct way to solve your clutter, but it can definitely help prevent it. Once you get all your seasonal clothes, ornaments and other occasional stuff in to tubs and containers, label them to death. This way, you're not rummaging through boxes, throwing stuff around and then are too exhausted from the hunt to try and pack it all back up.
