Hi Y'all,

If "Top Model" and Ashton Kutcher's "Punk'd" had a baby, it would be my new show, "True Beauty" (premiering tonight, January 5, on ABC after "The Bachelor" at 10/9c).

Ashton and I executive produced it together, and I have to tell you, it's a great show! It's a beauty competition where the contestants are not only judged on their outer beauty, but they're also secretly judged on their inner beauty. So, it's right up Ashton's alley because it's kind of like we're punking them -- we use hidden cameras and put our contestants in crazy situations and even bring in actors to help us test what they're really like when they think no one is watching.

It is so much fun to watch, but it also has an important message: no matter what you look like on the outside, to be truly beautiful you have to be beautiful on the inside. I remember my mama visiting me when I was modeling in Europe, and she was looking around backstage at one of my shows. She was amazed at how beautiful everyone was -- all these models and fashion people, but she couldn't help noticing how ugly so many of them were on the inside -- the things they said, the way they treated each other. That's what this show is all about; you can't judge a book by its cover.

We picked 10 girls and guys who think they are the most gorgeous people in America. The 10 we found are definitely smokin' hot, just ask them! You won't believe some of the things that come out of their mouths. Vanessa Minnillo is our host and also a judge. She's a former Miss Teen USA and beautiful both inside and out. Our other two judges are Cheryl Tiegs, America's first supermodel, and Nolé Marin, the stylist who used to be a judge on "America's Next Top Model." They make a great team. It was up to them to make the hard decision of who would go home every week until there was just one person left, the person who truly has both inner and outer beauty. Even though our contestants had no idea what they were really being judged on, they all wanted to win the awesome prize -- $100,000 and a feature in People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People issue.

On the "Tyra Show" that airs January 5, I give an exclusive preview of "True Beauty." (I've got Ashton, Vanessa and Nolé on the talk show.) We also do one of our famous "Tyra Show" social experiments and do a little judging of our own -- on some people who think they're unbelievably hot. You have to see what they say and do, and what happens when I tell them we were testing their inner beauty.

And in case you're wondering -- YES, that Ashton is as fine in person as he looks in magazines, TV and the movies. On today's "Tyra Show" he tells me what he finds beautiful in his wife Demi. She is FINE too. And both of them together is just FINE FINE. Fine-squared!

Okay, I gotta run, but watch the "Tyra Show" and "True Beauty" today (January 5!).

Bye y'all,

hey tyra- my name is brandi im an 18 year old mother, i got pregnant at 16 and the guy i was with for the past 2 years just left. my son is now 10 months old and with out a dad. These 14-16 year old girls are crazy for beliving these guys saying they will stay with them. i know i was and i regret trusting someone with all my heart and being broken down by him every day he mentally abused me, brought me down so far i felt like a nobody. I am proud to say i finally showed him the door and realized i need to make myself and my son happy before trying to please a man. Your amazing.. thank you for the courage you gave me to take a stand in my life and start over new. Thank you Brandi

Hi Tyra, I just saw the show on "kids physic". I truly believe they are not "personal powers". I believe they are gifts from God (in the Bible 1 Corinthans 12:28)given to them to encourage others and not for others to depend on them to find out about dead people or call up the dead for answers. The incident where a spirit attacked the young girl is certainly true, and the only thing that can stop it is calling on the name of Jesus, but she must also believe in Jesus Christ. It's sad that the church the other girl attended didnt believe that she was given the gift of prophecy and she is certain a "seer".

TYRA I'M SORRY BUT WHAT A UGLY DRESS YOU WEAR TODAY, YOU LOOKS LIKE BIG MAMA.

thats a great idea now that the Tyra show and ANTM are being cancelled Stylista and True Beauty are taking over! great thinking you money greedy werewolf

Tyra, I think that it is a great idea that you are doing this show and I hope that not only the people on the show but your viewers as well can learn that being beautiful is NOT just about looks. It does not matter if there is a "fat" or "ugly" person on the show. And I think that the people that are complaining about the size and races of the contestants need to take a look at their INNER beauty and see where they would fit on the show. Keep up the GREAT work TYRA

HELLO TYRA,AND ASHTON AND ALL OF THE OTHERS THAT WORKED ON THE NEW REALITY SERIES THAT PREMIERED TONIGHT.AU IN GENERAL, I LIKED IT. MOST OF THE FEMALES (OF COURSE) THOUGHT THEY WERE SO MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN ANY ONE ELSE THERE, AND SOME OF THE GUYS FELT THE SAY WAY !!! THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED WHEN YOU GET ALOT OF DIVA'S AND JOCK'S IN THE SAME ROOM. HOWEVER THE JUDING ON THE OUTSIDE BEAUTY SET SO MANY OF THEM, AND THE WAY THE WERE MEASURED AND POINTS TAKEN OFF....IT WAS REALLY TACKHY. AND I CAN UNDERSTAND THE HURTFUTR FEALLY. (PUT YOURSELFD THERE). BUT ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE, I DO FEEL THE RIFHT WOMAN WAS SELEDCTED TO GO HOME, SHE DEFITEDTLY DID NOT HAVE BEAUTY MANNERS AND A KIDNESSS OF THE HEART , MUCH LESS TRUE BEAUTY. SHE HAD TO GO. WAITING FOR NEXT WEEK GOOD ONE GANG,

Hey Tyra, I just watched your first episode of true beauty. I did like the show but I hated how Hadiyyah-lah Sa'id was eliminated. I'm sure she is a good person. To eliminate her based on 3 instances and tell her that she is not beautiful on the inside.....that was not done well. It is not fair that her self-esteem is ripped off to have one good episode to make the show a hit. That is not fair to her that the world judges her goodness based on 3 instances. Next time, when a contestant is eliminated, it would be nice to add some nice things so that their self-esteem is not ripped. I hope this would be noted. If a show is made on true beauty, true beauty should also be practiced what is preached by the show makers.

whoa!! everyone who is negative on the show. You have to admit ( just a lilttle) that it was good and the contestants are all beautiful. Chelsea is funny and the other blonde is beautiful as well as the guys and the other girls. Remember it is a show!!! My neighbor NEVER watches Reality shows and she cannot wait till next week. Good Job to all...

Hey Trya and ashton: I watched your new show and I think it was really good. I was not sure which one of the two of them should have gone. Maybe three of them because they all step over the boundary of the privacy of the records. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder for society but beauty is skin deep in my eyes. You do not have to be perfect because no one is...it is what is inside the heart that counts. I could not believe that she could not hold the door or offer to take some of the stuff out of the delivery guys hands. How rude ...she was and so is that blond who will be next think the stuff don't stink. I think I am cute but not drop dead gourgeous but I am a better person than they are... I advocate for disabled who are disfigured and they could not put a shine over anyone of the disabled we deal with. My son is disabled and his heart is gold... no money can buy that.... But the show is real eye opener to people who think just beauty outside makes it in the world...lets see who ends up winning....

Tyra I am very dissapointed that you would promote a show such as this. The part that disgusts me the most is the "beauty scores." Deep rooted emotions were flamed in the two people of color; and by the clip that highlights "you know what it is," I'm sure that you are aware of the race factor. It is as if they showed this scene to say "Hey look THEY are playing the race card." As an African American woman you know that society is constantly telling people of color that they are not beautiful. To have two people of European descent score them on their physical attributes was a slap in the face. Of course Hadiyya-lah was angry after hearing the beauty score. Now I am not defending her behavior at all. She was quite rude, lied, and inconsiderate. However her character has once again perpetuated the myth of the "Angry Black Woman" (despite her origin, she is going to viewed as black by America.) To top it off CJ was nastily told by the older former model to accept the beauty score as real and put it in his pocket. All I can say is Shame on you Tyra. SHAME ON YOU TYRA.

What was wrong with Cheryl Tiegs lips? Can't we grow old gracefully. She looks ridiculous! Sad.

I didn't see the show but from the previews I can see how ridiculous this stupid show will be. I like Tyra Banks but she def. did no good whatsoever on the typical beauty on the outside. Just for money and views... no one will watch when they are all "ugly" or "fat" because people have been brain washed to think that man whores and sluts that are stupid and worthless actually measure up to something and let them make money off shows because they sure are interesting and beautiful.... yeah right. Guys have porn already, can woman please have their sanity and brain back.

I liked the show. I'm not a reality show person but one that sticks it to the pride and blind to the inner true,MAN thats the kind of show my brother (to a point) would make. To all the people bagging the number test was not the real test it was the hidden camera test. i do agree that their should be more heavy set people but that can be next season. i thought all the 10 people were ugly in some way or another but the one with short hair i looked into her eyes and i feel this smartness that i like ( its early so...) the blond of the two to be voted off was the one my brother really wants to go( he wants to just... i don't know but it didn't sound good) i like the show and my brother and i plan to watch more. i hope that one season the show their is a person that is the nicest sweetest person in with the wolves in sheep's clothing.

I don't understand why people are hating on the show. I thought it was really great! The whole idea was that they cast people who are stereotypically beautiful and kinda conceited...that is why they did not cast physically "ugly" or overweight people. I think that would have been a dead giveaway that something was up with the competition. Think about it. The beauty score thing was pretty much just measuring proportions and symmetry of their bodies. What is the big deal? This is all for show, people! The beauty challenges are supposed to be all about physical beauty! I especially loved the end when they showed the person who got eliminated the way they were acting. Hopefully the eliminated contestants will learn from what they see of themselves and be able to become better, more beautiful people. KUDOS to Tyra, Ashton, and everyone involved in this show. You have at least one big fan!!

I also agree that the premise of the show to find a "true beauty" is in conflict with sending the contestants to get a beauty score. Beauty can NOT be measured, it depends on the eyes of the beholder. I think it is really sad because why whould anyone need to know what number they are, people are already so busy comparing themselves to celebrities but now they have solid numbers to confirm how attractive or unattractive they are?? I think the idea of this show is positive, but the execution of the first show failed. What is an ideal anyways... You constantly have models such as Chanel Iman who are skinnier than 95% of the world? If that is the ideal I would be very happy to have a low number. What you find is beautiful shouldnt be forced on others and labeled with a number.
