Deciphering the best kind of interview outfit.

It's been a long standing tradition for wide-eyed, job hopefuls to don the run-of-the-mill "interview suit," but nowadays- - the outfit you wear to meet your destiny doesn't have to be the same old, same old. Dress for success, but make sure it's the kind of success you're looking for. Here are some tips for working the best interview outfit for your desired job.

If Creative is Your Calling...
When interviewing for jobs in the creative fields (think magazines), it's important to really think about what type of content your potential employer produces and then what type of gig you're going for. Wearing a collared dress with a blazer may be perfectly appropriate for an ad production position, but if you're looking to work on the editorial end at Vogue- - you need to let your inner fashionista out.

For Easy Going Work...
If you're interviewing at a small graphic design firm and the mood is obviously more casual- - you don't need to go the whole nine yards and put on your entire three-piece-suit. A well cut pair of pants, button up shirt and a sweater will pair nicely with some sweet heels or even nice flats. The idea is to impress, but also show your employer you understand the environment. Sometimes, it might even be okay to wear a really good pair of jeans with a dressy top and a nice jacket, or a least a more casual skirt.

When NOT to Skip the Suit...
For jobs in finance or law firms, you never want to forfeit the business attire. For any job where you know you'd need to be in a roomful of high-end executives on a daily basis, (and not ones that would start a meeting with, "okay, dudes, here's what's on the agenda..."), whip out the good ol' interview suit. Remember, these jobs require you to come off poised and professional at all times, so make sure your suit is tailored and well-fit- - this is the time to give your mom back hers and invest in a new, fashionable one of your own. These jobs will actually require you to wear it.

I always say dress for the interview in accordance to the job you're interviewing for.A nice casual look is ok,If say, you're interviewing for something in the service industry, but a big no-no for a corporate job.For that a good power suit will work wonders.First impressions go a long way.

It is always nice to look good for an interview and a good look is to have on a pair of black slacks and a white tailored shirt, you can never go wrong with this look because you will be looked at as being in the middle and still looking professional.

What are you talking about that dress at the top is inappropriate to wear to an interveiw. I go with a nice skirt suit, an embellished no sleeve, semi-sexy shirt, and accesories. Anywhat, I love Tyra, When I am not in school and remeber I watch Tyra... it's soooo funny. I can't beleive it.

I loved the show today with cliton, it was nice to see that fashion is not just about looking good but being feeling good about your surroundings even at your home. I wish I can get a make over I use to dress really good but now it just seem as if I can't get it together. I would like to nominate myself on what not to wear!!!!!

WHAT U WEAR TO AN INTERVIEW IS SOO IMPORTANT, I HAD A RETAIL INTERVIEW AT A BREATY STORE AND WORE A BASIC SLACKS AND BLOUSE IT WAS CVASUAL BUT PROFESSIONAL AND THEN I HAD A INTERVIEW AT A HIGH END RETAIL STORE (COACH) AND I STARTED FREAKING OUT CUZ I DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING SUPER PROFESSIONAL TO WEAR AND NO ONE UNDERSTOOD WHY I WAS STRESSING, THERE LIKE ITS JUST RETAIL AND I SAID NO ITS NOT JUST RETAIL IT A MORE PROFESSIONAL ENVIORMERNT THAN AT THE BEAUTY STORE AND I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WEARING MY CASUAL BUSINESS OUTFIT THAT I HAD WORN TO THE BEAUTY STORE INTERVIEW SO I WENT AND GOT SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT MORE PROFFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS LIKE AND THANK GOD I DID THAT B/C WHEN I WENT TO THE INTERVIEW EVERYONE WAS DRESSED IN BUSINESS SUITS AND I HAD ON SLACKS AND A BUTTON DOWN BLOUSE SO TECHNICALLY I WAS STILL UNDER DRESSED I DID NOT GET HIRED BUT I DID LEARN A LESSON THAT U NEED TO BE PREPARED TO BE ABLE TO DRESS APPOPRIATLY FOR ANY SITUATION OR OCCASSIKON WHEN IT ARISES SO I NEED TO GET AT LEAST ONE BUSINESS SUIT (U CAN GET A INEXPENSIVE BUT NICE ONE AT ROSS OR BURLINGTON)THAT I CAN DRESS UP OR DOWN SO THAT I AM PREPARED IN THE FUTURE IF ANOTHER SITUATION ARISES LIKE THIS AGAIN.
