We've got the chores you can procrastinate on -- and the ones that just can't wait.
Of course you want to kick it with your friends and family after dinner during a party, and there are some post-gathering chores that can wait until after everyone has successfully laughed off their meal. But others shouldn't wait until late -- besides, you should recruit your guests to get your kitchen chores done in no time.
Take the Time to ...
Scrape Plates
Clear off everyone's plates and either stack them or even pop a load into the dishwasher.
Clean and Clear Sharp Knives
Especially if little ones are meandering, it's not a good idea to have these lying around -- or hidden in a packed sink.
Stow Away Leftovers
Pack up the leftover eats and make sure everyone gets a doggie bag.
Leave Until Later
Scrub Pots and Pans
Just toss them into the sink and let them soak. It will be easier to scrub off the scum later.
Clear Away the Glasses
Everyone will most likely go for a second (or third) drinks, so leave those be.
Get All the Meat Off the Turkey
Leave the bird be until after you've had a chance to sit down and let the tryptophan wear off.
