We've got fab ideas to put the life back into YOUR girl party!
Girls night should be a break from the norm, but when it's the same routine every week, the excitement dies out and the sanctity of girls night is challenged! You're dreading the same ol' trip to the local bar -- and if you hear "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" one more time, you're swearing off ladies night for eternity. Tired of regular dinner-and-drinks routine? Change it up! Here are our ideas to add spice to your ladies only party.
Clothing Swap
Clear out any extraneous hubbies and kiddos from your house and make it a girls night in. Ask your guests to bring over all of the clothes, shoes and baubles that they're willing to part with for a clothing swap. Get the cocktails flowing and you and your girls can strike a pose and leave with a whole bunch of new swag without spending a dime. And to make the most of your girls' night, send the rest of your goods to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
Bowl-o-Rama
If you're like us, you're not a good bowler. The upside? You probably don't spend a lot of time in bowling alleys and it'll be an adventure. There are lots of fabulously cheesy bowling alleys that feature ridiculously cheap drinks, blaring pop music and even karaoke. You get all the effects of a dive bar mixed with a little friendly competition. And instead of gussying yourself up for hours, you can simply rock a sweatshirt with your bowling shoes -- and still make the alley's best dressed list.
Scavenger Hunt
Sound too "summer camp circa seventh grade"? Think again. Arrange a pre-planned list of silly challenges, -- think "do the chicken dance in a supermarket until people join in" -- and break into teams. Arm yourselves with cameras to prove you've completed the tasks and you will not only end up with the materials you need to win, but you'll also have a whole new set of pics for your girls night album.
Department Store Makeover
You see the counter gals every time you make a jaunt through the mall, so why not take some advantage and let them peddle their wares -- and make you look fierce? Most makeup counters offer "free makeovers" where the staff teaches you a few techniques with their products. It doesn't cost anything to score the makeup session, but it's a good idea to purchase one of the items used on you for good measure -- some places actually require it. Even if you do have to splurge on lip gloss and the like, you'll emerge with a new look and a product for your repertoire. Bring the camera and take fun "before" and "after" pictures and then use the money you saved to take yourselves out to lunch.
