For some girls shows and movies could have an affect on young girls because some girls try to become something they are not and try to become the people they see on television shows or movies. But personally, no these things dont give me the urge to open my legs to just any guy because that is just not my style.
HI Tyra, and yes i think shows like that do influence teens to have sex, because us as teens are so curious we like to try everything. i see this type of thing all the time at my school, but anyways yes i do think that shows like 90210 and gossip girl influence teens to more likely be sexually active.

It's maybe because people are different because it depends on the type of person you are. Also many people have different personalities and some are easily influenced and some aren't. In my opinion i think that people are who they are.
its a yes and a no . yes because the parents on these shows are like o ok this and that ,wen in reality parents of teen girls arent gunna be like that so its showing us teens that its okay . but then its a no because i am a teen and still avirgin and i watch all these shows . and i no what is right from wrong & so should all these girls as well . everyone has a mind of their own and they shouldno that getting pregnant at a young age isnt good && they are threwing their life away . so therefore, teens should no whats right from wrong !
I guess it may have an influence but then again, everyone still have morals. You know what is right and wrong, safe and unsafe. I think that it is an excuse and they do not want to blame for their own actions. I mean, i'm a teen and i haven't had sex. If I were to do so, I know that I need to use protection.

I don't mean to sound self-righteous but it is absolutely ridiculous for girls to blame tv shows for their mistakes. I am 17 years old and still a virgin despite watching shows like this since I was a young girl. Yes tv shows like gossip girl do glamorize sex but it also shows things like pregnancy scares and broken hearts (Blair) and ruined friendships and regrets (serena). Teen pregnancy is most often due to naivete and ignorance. If anyone is to blame it's their parents for not educating them, the guy for pressuring them, or the girls themselves for not taking precaution with their own body.

I think that blaming a t.v show for a teen having sex is just pasing the buck from the real cause to something that parents or gaurdians feel they have no control over. The fact is going to highschool you probably come into contact with more situations that would cause a person to become sexually active than watching a T.V show would. The reason the shows are so successful is becuase teens relate to them. So instead of worrying about what they are watching ...worry about what you have talked to them about. My parents were always open and honest, let me in on the truths and made sure that i was aware of the risk and the procedures (safe sex) and as awkward as it was then it worked . To this day i've had one sexual partner and that is my fiancee.
i'm a 19 yr old virgin who never misses an episode of Sex and the City n Gossip Girl..i've always been around sex,drugs, and wild parties but that doesn't mean that i'm going to take part in dangerous activities..on the other hand, i learn from seeing those around me make mistakes and i'm fully aware of the consequences of such actions.i think it's important to talk about these topics so that when we face difficult situations in life we know how to face them..i also think that it's extremely important for parents to talk with their teens...trust me..we DO listen...
Do you think watching sexy TV shows can really make girls more likely to get pregnant? In less there really stupid,then i would say no but there are some dumb people out there who believes... I dont have anythang and you dont have anythang then whats the need of a condom for...Then the guy says Oh dont worry I'll pull out and a month later ur going to the doc for a missed period or a std... i'm sorry but some girls will fall for anything.
I think they do because your there watching and ur like I wannet so badly and u know u try to act more sexual with people and give sins that u wannet no matter what
I am 17 years old and I think that it just depends on the way that the young girl was raised. Because of the way that I was brought up, I wouldn't even think about getting pregnant on purpose. Television shows cannot take the blame of an individual's actions because if that were so, everyone would be on drugs, getting arrested, smoking & drinking under age etc. Everyone is responsible for their own actions and what they do is their own issue.
