this comment is about the sex on tv topic and also the topic of the new president..Firstly,I think it is a young girls own choice to have sex.Whether or not it is shown on tv,everything looks glamorous on those tv shows..but most of it in real life isnt..seems as though too many of us just want to blame our choices on something or someone else,and are too scared to admit there own wrog doing and accept the reprocutions of their choices.good topic tyra..I love your show,but today i ws let down about your topic of new president barack obama.I know you have to play devils advicit in most topics but you seem as tho you wanted obama to win soley because he is african american..that is no reason to choose a president..those that voted him into office for that reason are ignorant.At least if you wanted an african american for president elect someone wise like colon powell.obama is mixed,not even full african american!he will probably be assassinated anyways.

the way these girls are talking sounds like their looking for settlement from tv networks for being pregnant.its hard to belive anyone could belive that watching tv can make you go out and get pregnant.i, myself am 17 and sexually active with my boyfreind but that has nothing to do with the gossip girl. is politicaly incorrect as this may seem, everone knows that sex and partying are actions the more popular crowd involved in. no one needs tv to tell them that. im apualled by the ignorance and lack of media awareness these girls exhibit. in the end it comes down to "if every one was telling you to jumping off a bridge would you"
oh my gosh, that is the lamest excuse i've ever heard. girls these days are way smarter than they used to be. the society is changing so rapidly and kids are doing things that weren't being done before, they're exposed to more things, but i honestly believe that no matter what they say they know damn well what is right and what is wrong. saying that a show made them think that it was ok or that it's the "it" thing to do is just a way of taking the responsibility off their shoulders and placing it on someone else. all they're doing is making themselves look very ridiculous and it's sad because now these KIDS have babies and they will be the one that suffers because mommy watched too much MTV or Gossip Girl.
i dont think that you can blame tv for your actions. everyone knows the consequences of having sex so why be stupid about it. i think that people use tv shows as an excuse to justify getting pregnant at such a young age and i dont think thats right they need to take responsibility for their own actions and not put it off the on tv you make the decision to watch the shows if you feel that tv is the reason you have sex and get pregnant then they can choose not to watch those shows.
i always come home to watch tyra after a long day of school and instead of making me laugh and learning something new about the world around us. I have to listen to these girls blame tv that there pregnant. Sorry for not being compassionate but i just recently turned 14 and i know that if you do choose to have sex USE PROTECTION cause having sexual intercourse you can sadly get a disease or a virus, irritation and #1 pregnant. These girls are 17 LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN 17 year old girls are going to blame tv i seriously am embarrassed of this generation like i totally freaked out at how stupid these girls could be i seriously almost threw a plate at the wall >_> ... { dont have anger issues!!}. This is bull. I'm 19 and my friends and I watched all those shows and none of us are pregnant. You learn that you can get pregnant when you have sex so how about just think about it before. Use protection or maybe just don't do it.
so i was the girl on the show, and all i have to say is that the whole t.v and survey thing i didnt even know about until i got to the show. i went on there and wrote in to tell other girls that t.v isnt reality and they shouldnt get pregnant, i wanted to share my story about how hard it is so that other girls wouldnt think that having sex was so glamorous and that t.v doesnt show reality. for the people bagging on me and sarah the tyra show gave us a script and things that we should say we both went on there with our good intentions to share our stories with other girls so that they wouldnt go and have careless sex. i cried after the tapping of the show because it was not what i went on there for, i in no way blame t.v for the reason i got pregnant, i got pregnant because i had sex duh. i believe that so many girls can be easily swayed in the direction that the t.v show's because the shows make it so easy to relate to them and so the girls watching feel they should follow. so just remember its t.v they picked through and edited everything we said. i went there with good intentions, im not a follower in any way shape or form, but i was told from the producers that i should say certain things. i just wanted to help other girls that was my purpose for going on the show and it ended up being me bagged on
I think that is just crazy, no disrespect intended TV has nothing to do with it some of these teens are just out of control with their hormones period, they don't what to listen to their parents. I think that blaming a t.v show for your actions is the stupidest excuse a person can ever come up with.There has always been a problem with teenage pregnancy in the united states.So when did people all of a sudden blame it on t.v shows.I've watched the same shows those girls watched and still havent got pregnant.Its called safe sex.Todays teeagers only think about the moment and not what can happen afterwards.I think that parents just need to get more involved with their children and teach them about safe sex and the bagage it comes with.T.v shows are fictional and not real and those girls need to take responsibility for their actions.Stop blaming t.v And if you know it influences you to do things like sex maybe you shouldn't watch t.v duh......
I think that it varies person to person. Some teens are very impressionable and it truly is sad. My mother died when I was 13 and my father worked out of the country. My extended family never came around so basically I raised myself and my younger brother. I had parties and did crazy things, I could do anything and everything I wanted and I did I was wild, but I never got pregnant or did drugs. I didn’t finish high school and didn’t have the parents to make me go or do anything else. I watched Sex in the City on HBO which wasn’t censored. I am now 25 years old and remember every thought and every feeling I had as a teen. My life at the time was a recipe for disaster and now I have become very successful. Its all in the childs mind, Yes teens are children. I feel from my own experience that you can not blame a tv show or anything else other than yourself. If you want to be like these shows and have sex and do drugs then its your fault. You made the decision to do what you do . You always make the decision. You are responsible for everything you do, even mistakes. I have made many mistakes and I take full responsibility and only when you take responsibility can you move on and better your life. Stop blaming tv, videogames, and celebrities for your misfortunes. You decide your life not a tv show that doesn’t even know you exist. Take responsibility and your decisions will become better along with you life.
we can blame teen pregnancy on anything but at the end of the day it was the person decision to have sex. as a teen we are constantly told about the consequence of sex but nobody can stop there kid frm particpating in sex im not saying it right for them to have sex at that time. tv shows do not make me want to go out and have sex but that just my opinon it may affect other teen when pursuing there lifestyle.
I think it's stupid and ridiculous for people to make T.V. or music for their own mistakes and failures as parents. Most of the problem stems from parents letting other things babysit their children while they are consummed with work their own problems whatever. That's why girls get pregnant that's why so many teens end up in crime and on drugs. Our parents need to be role models and WAKE the hell up!
