Our sooo-not-depressing guide to flying solo.
Work deadlines have you in the office until December 26? Flight canceled? Not enough funds to make it back home to kick it with your My Little Pony collection in your childhood bedroom? It's a bummer -- but instead of wallowing in your sorrows, chin up. We know it's hard to be away from home for the holidays, so we've devised a list of a few things you can do during the holidays to get your mind off missing your fam.
Get Creative
You've been wanting to repaint the living room all year -- now is your chance! With so much going on in your house, you won't be a sad sack sitting on the couch and wondering what you're missing out on back home.
Go for It
You've mentally prepared all year that the holidays will be your "ditch mr diet" time, so indulge yourself! You never order fried mozzarella sticks, let yourself have a few. Or indulge in different ways, like taking the whole day and do literally nothing.
Holiday Hobby
You've been wanting to try that crafty hobby you've been thinking about all year. Now is the time to whip out the sewing machine you bought three years ago. This way when you DO get some time with your family, you can show them the fruits of your labor. Or just tell them the funny story of how you imagined you were on "Project Runway."
Give Back
The best way to feel good is by doing good. If you can't be with your family, help feed other families. Volunteer at the soup kitchen or deliver toys for tots. Trust us, this one will make you feel lots better.
