What would YOU do if your mother refused to attend your wedding?

wedding.jpgThe couples on this show are happy, completely in love and oh-so-ready to walk down the aisle on their wedding days. The problem? Their family members refuse to attend -- and even threaten to ruin -- these weddings because they don't approve of these relationships. What will happen when devastated gay and lesbian couples face-off with their family members? Can their loved ones could put aside their beliefs for just one day? Watch the show to find out!

And, if your family is refusing to attend YOUR gay wedding, tell the Tyra Show about it!

What many miss here is that Homosexuality is an illness and was recognized as such until quite recently. One need only examine the relationship of recently “married Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi (Amanda Lee Rogers) to see the obvious gender confusion exhibited by these individuals. In particular that is true of DeGeneres who takes on the role of a man in appearance, mannerism and dress. The same is true of Melissa Eldridge who wore men’s clothing at her wedding, while her “wife” (a term used in front of her recently, with out her objection), wore a wedding gown. This is also true of Gay men, where one partner plays the aggressive or male role while the other plays the female. In the Gay community, Lesbians many times have secret male names, while amongst Gay Men, the opposite is true. Homosexuality should once again be treated for what it is an illness. The utmost compassion should be shown to these misguided souls.

I hate wasting my time writing comments because they ALWAYS get deleted and i NEVER ever say anything rude or offensive. BOO TYRA STAFF

HI TYRA. I loved this episode, it made me want to cry along with you. It made me think about my wedding, if I ever find the right man, because I'm gay and my family is very religious as well. I felt the pain along with that girl. I hope my family accepts for who I am and the love of my life.

i think its sad that god created gays....i mean its not fair to them! they are born this way, the way they talk, walk, act, the way the move their hands, but we cant tell a lesbian from a straight woman unless they are dressed like a boy. sexual orientation is way different from a murderer but just as sinful in gods eyes, murdererers chose to kill ppl but gays didnt decide they are just attracted to the same sex.

i can understand why the mom wouldnt attend the wedding. if i was a mom i wouldnt attend either. this is not something small, this is a very big issue! but if she wants to choose love over parents so be it. if god doesnt approve of gay, me as a straight woman doesnt approve either. i dont understand why god made gay in the first place when he rejects them. does he think gays can turn straight? whats the percentage of gays that have turned str8? 1%???

Hi...i really loved your show today and it just reminds us that life is really short and we should all try to live it as happily as we can...cheers to the lesbian couple and i sincerely wish you both much happiness...cheers

I didn't agree with a woman married to a woman as well as her mother didn't god did not create adam and steve and god gave us the power to rebuke a person and when they turn around take them back.I noticed you asked the mother a question several times but she said she did not want the relationship in her house but she did not denye the daughter.I am a minister that has been walking with god for 20years and i know for sure he do not agree with gays marriages so people have the right to comment any way they like but i respect the mother for standing on gods word that is what we don't have a lot of.

Hi Juliana and Lindsy, this is your freindly neighborhood security guard Larry Paquet and you two make the perfect couple and its all about you two and no one else. So, have a wonderful life together and everyone else who thinks you made a really bad mistake, well, F_ _ _ them all. I will see you two on friday 6:00 pm sharp. Oh, thanks for spending time with me when you get the chance, because its boring being in security somtimes. Bye for now and I will still catch this on thursday, too.

Hi Tyra, I just wanted to say first and foremost, congrats to the happy couple. I hope they don't let their families stand in the way of their happiness. I myself am a lesbian and understand where they're coming from. I have not yet planned a wedding, but I know that my mother would not come to mine either. We've talked about it before. It's a shame that happiness can't be seen simply for what it is. The worst part about my situation is that though my mother likes to play saint mother when it comes to my sexuality, she has completely betrayed me as a mother. She has made a conscious decision to stay married to her husband, a man who molested me on and off for 5 years. And YES she knows. So, in my life, I have had to learn that what is the right thing is more and more NOT the thing parents are choosing to do. It's a shame, but it is true. Once again, best wishes to this couple and I hope they have a wonderful wedding, with or without their families. You never want someone there who doesn't want to be there.

how can being gay or lesbian wrong if its the way they were born? they cant help it. so i ttly support their marriage.

HI TYRA HOW ARE YOU? I WATCH YOUR SHOW EVRY DAY.

hay tyra I am anita and i was just wondering can i be on ur show

Hi, I am a long time friend of the guests of today's shows. "Juliana and Lindsy." I for one support there marriage, but I still have that deep down feeling of the whole being gay is wrong, but I decided to support it because gay couples will be gay and be together regardless of the right marry. God and only God has the right judge and come judgement day that is up to him. I haven't the right to judge someone for who they see fit to date or fall in love in with, if your happy your happy and in the end that is what matters. Juliana and Lindsy are happy together that much is clear, and if its wrong eternally then so be it, let them be happy while they still have there lives hear on earth. God is a forgiving God and I am sure that he will forgive them too. There are much more important things in life for us all to worry about then weather or not gay couples to should marry. I love Juliana even after all these years and I wish she and Lindsy the happiest future possible. Thanks Tyra for doing the show. Amber.
