We've got advice on how to deal.
Between acne and oily hair, it's not like you need any more body woes to add onto your teenage plate. Stretch marks -- aren't those an affliction found on most pregnant ladies? Why are you noticing them after basketball practice? As stubborn and annoying as those jerkish little lines can be, you shouldn't be worrying your pretty little head about them.
Noticing a few stretch marks during your teen years actually isn't uncommon: They're another symptom you can chalk up to a growth spurt. Believe it or not, about one in three young ladies will find a few on their bodies -- especially during puberty. As your curvaceous figure takes shape, your skin might not be quite as quick to expand, causing the obnoxious little perpetrators commonly called stretch marks.
So what can you do about your striped situation? You certainly shouldn't run out and restock your medicine cabinet with creams galore. The only cure for those little suckers is patience. While you wait it out, eat healthy and take care of your skin. If you need to use a little something to help them along, all you need is a good, solid stick of cocoa butter. Not satisfied for now? A touch of (carefully applied!) sunless tanner will make them a lot less noticeable.
