I saw someone's comment that made me think for a moment.... First and foremost, this country was built on the backs of African slaves that suffered through for what seemed like an eternity for some of our ancestors who lived through this time. If you go to your local library, or google "Slavery in the U.S", you will be enlightened. *** Now after this understanding, you will know that Black people in this country DID NOT HAVE all of the same opportunities as Whites, and unfortunately, Black people still struggle today. Modeling is a very demanding and strict industry, that favors a certain look, and Black women in particular are still facing the backlash when it comes to the quote on quote Universal Standards of Beauty. Tyra is trying to uplift Black Beauty, which has be degraded and frowned upon since the migration from Africa. It's a new day, but unfortunately, some people STILL DON'T SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL WE ALL ARE!!! Black folks are still discriminated against, and ALL TRUTH, White folks still have the power...but maybe things will change...hence our brother Obama...

Hi Tyra, I missed the show today and was wondering if you could show a replay of it. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Tyra, I really enjoyed today's show. It was nice to see the Black is still in style...lol... I want to know where I can purchase the issue from. I would love to have it!

Tyra, I really enjoyed the show today as always. I was very shocked and concerned about the beautiful fair skin model, from Canada I think. She had the really unique, sexy voice. A few years ago I sounded very similar to her. I didn't meet the criteria at all but several horrible surgeries later the cancer seems to be gone, along with any voice at all. Well I guess I sound like a robot if I have to talk. I lost my husband also because it was my voice that attracted him to me. Please out of love and concern have her get her throat checked. We hear 50 times a day about breasts cancer and nothing about this. I'm way too young to be without a voice or my career,oh I can no longer swim because I have a permanent trach (hole) in my neck. If we can catch just one early it's a start. Please pass this on to her. Thank You Debbie

Hey Tyra, I'm currently watching your Tribute to Black Models episode and I find it very inspiring. But I do find something that bothers me though, you say that you are bothered by the lack of black models on the runway but how about asian models. The average asian girl is probably like 5'4 or 5'3 and so it bothers me that just because we aren't runway height qualified that we can't be models that walk the runway. You are bothered by lack of black models but how about asian models. You're all about diversity in sizes and there's even a transgender on top model and I think that's great and I'm rooting for Isis, but if you allow plus size or transgender on top model why not a short model thats under 5'4. I know that the clothes are made for 6'0 girls but you know that not every girl is 6'0, its 2008 and there should be a diversity not only in race but in height on the runway. And like you said every girl should feel beautiful and not think that only 6'0 skinny models are the only beautiful ones and that warps our perception of beauty and thats not right. These days girls should be able to look at fashion and see that short or plus size models are beautiful as well. Every girl should have the right to feel beautiful.

Tyra; This was a fantasic show, I have a couple of questions, both Bree and little Iman were in the magazine as well but not on stage, why? Can you tell me where I can get a magazine? I know that additional copies were printed but apprantley not enough. Help!!!! Love both your shows.

for the person below me, Tyra did this show for black models because we have acheived something. We have broken the barrier and have made a difference in society where black hasn't always been beautiful. If you had an "all white model show" what would be the reason? What have you achieved? What barriers as a white woman in our society have you gone through? I'm not trying to demean you but so that you will understand Tyra is making it known that it is a positive thing to be black and live in society today! We have achieved so much! And to Tyra, I cannot thank you enough for what you are doing this season. You are making a conscience effort to make black women love who they are! I watch your show everyday and i admire the optimism you are trying to encompass!

Damn, I must have stepped out of the room at the wrong time because I didn't see the release of the balloons. YIKES!!! I'm a serious advocate for the conservation of the environment so of course I'm opposed to any type of harm to our Home The Planet Earth (the only home we have). That's disappointing if those balloons will be another added piece of garbage lying around our "House"...don't you agree?

Loved the show. Always do. Just wanted to say Pat Campbell (The runway model) was riveting! I couldn't take my eyes off her movements. Guess there's more to it than just the obvious. Thank you for having her on. Thank you for having ALL of them on.

Why is not racist for Trya to have a All Black model show but it would be considered racist if there was an All White model show????????????
