Will Brenda Walsh leave our fave TV zip code once again?
When the beloved "90210" got a facelift to fit the new millennium, fans swooned. And when Shannen Doherty was brought back to reprise the role of Brenda Walsh, many of our "bring Brenda back" prayers were answered. But after a short stint on the all-new season, the triumphant return of Brenda is over ... for now.
Shannen, who signed on for four episodes of the new show, decided to make the cameo in the first place as a "thank you" to her loyal fans. Those fans were so loyal, in fact, that ratings for the new "90210" slipped after the first week with no Brenda. But as we all know, this isn't the first time that fans have had to bid farewell to Brenda.
Shannen's "90210" career has always been wrought with drama and speculation. So much so that in the original "90210," Brenda was sent off to Europe never to be seen again -- Brenda was MIA for the rest of series. (Maybe she missed her flight home?)
But the banishment didn't stick, and when the new "90210" debuted, the lady Walsh twin was back in action. For now, Shannen has filmed all of the episodes in her contract and there's no renewal in talks, but the fan fave doesn't rule out a three-peat return.
