After the VMAs, do you smell a Britney comeback?

britney.jpgDid you see the MTV Video Music Awards last night? If so, you couldn't miss the svelte Spears rocking that super-sparkly, silver Versace mini-dress. Aside from showing off her banging bod, Britney also swept the awards, winning Video of the Year, Female Video and Best Pop Video for "Piece of Me."

Though there was all sorts of hot gossip that Britney would be singing in the show's opener, no such luck. She did, however, do an opening comedy sketch (okay, it wasn't hilarious) with "Superbad" star Jonah Hill, who tried to slip her some tongue. (Can you blame the guy?) Still, it was a big night for the former pop princess.

Even though she's been nominated for 16 Moonmen in the past, she'd never won until last night. And she definitely blew her last VMA appearance out of the water. Which brings us to one very important question: After all the K-Fed drama and the tabloid fodder about her oh-so-cute baby boys, is Brit finally making a full-blown comeback?

With those gorgeous golden tresses and her fantabulous vintage garb, Brit certainly looked the part of a comeback queen. You tell us: Were the VMA's Britney's first stiletto-clad step to bringing back her career?

I wasn't impress what a disappointment. If Rihanna didn't twice performance,T.I. and Lil Wayne it would have been a snooze. They took it too far with promise appearance and performances that didn't happen. I call it the pity party for Brittney and didn't deserve all that. Brit had her time in music history. Right Rihanna, Chris Brown ,Kayne , Neyo and Lil Wayne are hot. Madonna had a better year but the viewer didn't choose her and Jordin Sparks and Jo Brother went home empty for this pity party. For 25 years of viewing this VMA show it was the worst.

Brittney for one was unexpective on the Mtv VMA's. I am unhappy with what all they did. This is not all about brittney. Mtv told us to do all this voting on the new artist thing. What a big joke on Mtv this really disappoints me , and really wasnt worth watching. They advertised way to much on what was on the TV.

I think MTV took the 'Charity' factor for Britney too far!!! Don't get me wrong: I'm sooo glad that she seems to be doing and looking better and hope that she stays on the path to full restoration (especially for her children). However, it appeared that MTV took it upon theirselves to apologize to her for the crappy performance she've brought on herself last year (which wasn't right). There were some past VMA hosts who talked about celebrities like a dog (particularly Michael Jackson,) but you didn't see a year later they cater to him so that can make up for his troubles. Glamour sells, but true talent prevails. If Britney ever displays true talent (which I have no comment if she ever did) then that's what should determine her longevity in the music business; not on some network collectively deciding to kiss her ---!!!

As a child of the 90's, I've got a soft spot. Felt bad for her when she hit it hard, and think she's had it rough (but who hasn't?). I don't think she necessesarily deserved ALL 3 of those awards, but hey the show was probably fixed. She was pretty quiet too, good P.R.? Aside from that, I just hope she gets healthy...honestly. She's gotta be a fighter to be going up and down like this, so you go girl.

hi tyra! I'm Portuguese, and I'm only 17 years old! I love you and your show! I have already sent you a comment at the topic about dreams and their meanings... =) Well, about Britney, I think this news mean things are getting better for her, and I'm really happy for her! I mean, I'm not a fan of her music, but when I was a little girl I have sang and danced her songs and I dreamed to be like her when I grew up, and she is one of the reasons that I start to love music the way I do! So, I have reasons to be thankful, and I think she had sofer enough, now she needs to keep on going the way she is now because she would get better and better and she would have everything she needs to be happy again, I hope so! =)

It was like last year again with Britney trying to make up for her horrible performance. I don't think that she deserved the 3 moonmans. They did not make the right decision. Also,I think that good that she got herself together. The media should just leave her alone. Britney is one of the best.

I really was dissapointed by last night's VMA's. It was boring expect T.I.,Rihanna and Kanye West.It was like last year again with Britney Spears trying to make up for her horrible performance. I don't think that she deserved the 3 moonmans. They did not make the right decision. I think that good that she got herself together. The media should just leave her alone.She is one of the successful pop female singers. Britney is one of the best.

I agree with Kyece...SMH...Britney Spears beat out Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Jordin Sparks, and Katy Perry...shameful pity. There is so much more I want to say about the debacle that was the VMAs last night. I expected so much more with it being the 25th anniversary and all. My guess is all the real performers were too busy at Fashion Rocks on Friday to come to the VMAs. With the exception of Kanye at the end and Rihanna's opening...I was unimpressed...SMH
