Do you care that the girls on "90210" ditched their lunch trays without eating?

90210.jpgWithout our cult-favorite TV shows, whatever would we talk about? We all know that people have been paying plenty of lip service to the new "90210" lately -- especially since last week's scandal-generating cafeteria scene. On the most recent episode, Shenae Grimes' and Jessica Stroup's characters ditched their lunch trays without sampling any of their food -- and a controversy erupted.

The scene shows the two girls sitting with heaping tray-fulls of burgers and fries. Though there is a significant amount of conversation, and the scene lasts a few minutes, the only time anyone actually eats any of the goodies is when a friend stops by the table for a little noshing. Then the trays go into the garbage, food untouched.

Critics says this scene was bad news for girls who might already be struggling with trying to look like the picture-perfect stars on TV. But do you think it's a big deal? This is a television show, after all. And we have no idea how many times the girls filmed this scene, or how many times they had to scarf down fries and burgers. Perhaps this final take was the best one, but unfortunately one where the actresses had eaten their fill and executed their scene brilliantly -- without muching.

You tell us: In a world where teens like you are already bombarded with images of super-skinny women in movies and in magazines, do you think it sets a bad example when actresses your age ditch their food rather than eating? Or do you think the controversy about this particular "90210" scene is much ado about nothing?

i honelty think these epedemic is becoming to common in the media, but it doesnt change the fact that they have no responsibility to give your child good habits, or morals. it is the mothers or fathers job to raise them and teach them how to behave and conduct yourself.

Are these actresses raising your kids? Do your kids have a mind of their own? Are you showing this sort of behavior at home? Have you taught your kids to THINK for themselves and not to (and in my best zombie voice) "do-what-tv-says..." Well???? Then quit crabbing! If your child is dumb enough to follow what these actresses are doing (and not REALIZE the world on tv is not REAL), THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK YOURSELF AS A PARENT and work on the FOUNDATION of what you teach your child. And yes, I have raised children!!!

Obviously other girls are not going to break it down to the point of thinking about how the episiode was filmed. The end product is that the girls didn't touch their food. It's great they didn't trash their bodies with processed cafeteria crap. But honestly, they could have put a veggie/fruit plate, or salad there. It wouldn't have been hard to eat, and im sure those girls would pick a salad anyways. Showing girls to eat healthy would have been a better choice, showing them not to eat at all ... shows them that its what the pretty girls in beverly hills do.

I think this wieght issue in America is getting out of control. I mean just because you skinny doesn't mean you have an eating disorder! Im 124lbs and some days I eat a lot and some days I don't eat at all! That's because I know how my body works. If I eat I eat. If I don't I don't. Point blank! Some people are just so insecure that they have 2 nitpick about everything. Everyone should just worry about their own bodies and stop comparing and constrasting with celeberties! There is more important issues to worry about! Like hmmm idk GAS PRICES!

Im 124lbs and some days I eat a lot and some days I don't eat at all! That's because I know how my body works. If I eat I eat. If I don't I don't. Point blank! Some people are just so insecure that they have 2 nitpick about everything. Everyone should just worry about their own bodies and stop comparing and constrasting with celeberties! I personally find it surprising that whenever a caucasian person is thin they automatically are anorexia. If you had a minority in their same position no one would think anything of it; they would just be naturally thin. I don't think making these girls eat on camera will prove anything. It might lead to something else like bulimia. In Hollywood you're either too thin or too fat; there seems to be no happy medium. If these girls are battling anorexia then there should be someone trying to help them not just showcase it in the news as a publicity stunt!

It's a TV show. I personally don't want to see the girls sitting there eating burgers and fries. I would rather hear what's actually going on on the show.
