Find out if your bra should come with a warning label!

TIME FOR A NEW BRA SMALL.jpg
Our biggest bra blunders used to involve scandalous straps or come-hither cleavage. Now scientists say bad bras aren't just fashion faux pas, they could be permanently damaging to your breasts. (Yikes!)

A recent study by the University of Portsmouth found that poor support from bras could lead to "fragile ligaments in the breast being stretched." Owww-eee! We're all about stretching during a workout, but stretching our breasts?! That's a different story!

Researcher Wendy Hedger told the BBC that women need to think about long-term health consequences -- not just fashion -- when lingerie shopping. "Many women don't want to be seen as too small or too big and buy a bra that doesn't fit well in order to be what they consider to be a normal size," she said.

The worst undergarment offenders? Crop-top sports bras. As any well-endowed jogger will tell you, the "ladies" like to swing in a figure-eight pattern. Scientists warn that bras must provide not just up-and-down support, but protection from side-to-side motion as well.

So next time you're bra shopping be sure to ask Victoria for some secret support along with your usual dose of skimpy seduction. Your girls will thank you!

You tell us: What's your fave bra? Do you prefer bras that are oh-so-sexy, or are you willing to sacrifice the hot factor for some stellar support?

Hi Tyra! I just recently had a baby six months and I'm 25 years old. I feel as tho my breasts have shrunk and are now saggy. I wear sports bras around the house but I have a problem finding a good sports bra for my 34 C. HELP!!!

I'm in between a 36G and a double G (36 a little small, GG a bit big) and I went to BraStop and they had sized up to J that were quite sexy. You can check them out at BraStop.com. The bra's I bought feel extra comfy as well as looking rather sexy with it! I believe I was fitted correctly as I've never had any troubles with feeling umcomfortable and the women in the shop who attended me made sure I felt comfortable and brought me plenty of different bra's to try on, from strapless to quite lacy ones! So check it out and good luck to the rest of you. :)

I can't ever find the right Bra's either no matter where I go. I'm a 38 DD... and Finding anysort of flattering not Grandma-ish is totally out of the picture... GRRRR... I totally can relate to the fristration any other woman faces. I have been sized numerous times and the same dang thing... the straps are too small..I pop out the sides... Its akward... I often opt for a bra that doesn't have underwire... most under wire beas I find the underwire isn't wide enough...it will poke and jab int to the sides of my breasts..not comfy!

Hello, I am a 36A and cannot seem to find a bra that I am not constantly pulling down as it rises up ALL the time. Is there a bra out there that I can try that will not do this? Thanks so much, Tess

Hi I know the struggle of finding a properly fitted bra. I wear a 32F. For many years i believed i wore a 36D!!! i am now a bra fitter and have gone to school for it but before this I went and had gotten fitted at victoria's secret. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with victoria's secret but i will say EVERYONE should be fitted by someone who has gone and gotten certified for the job. Its is nearly impossible for anyone to get fitted with a top on and get an accutate fit. So try and find a locally owned bra/ lingerie store that has people that have gone to school for this TRUST ME it is way worth it! FYI 80-95% of women are wearing the wrong size!!!
