Your hair dilemmas solved!

PROBLEM: Frizz
We've all been there: After a few hours outside in the summer heat, your hair looks more like a wild lion's mane than a nice 'do. No need to get yourself into a frizzy tizzy, though. Frizz is caused by heat and humidity zapping moisture from the hair cuticle, so all you need is a product with smoothing and relaxing properties to keep things in check. Try Ojon Tunaki, a balm that gives moisture-starved hair its bounce back with special protein-rich extracts. Want more shine? A to-go spray like Oscar Blandi Jasmine Oil can do the trick; it gives hair a sleek, glossy texture and has an amazing jasmine scent, too.

PROBLEM: Sahara-dry Strands
If you're sporting scarecrow tresses, it doesn't matter how cute that sundress is. Not so cute! Extreme heat and sun exposure can make normally healthy hair look dry and damaged, so you need extra hydration in the summer months. To start, swap your regular shampoo for one that heals and hydrates like Fekkai Technician Shampoo for dry, damaged hair, and add a twice-a-week conditioner like Karite Intense Nourishing Conditioning Cream to your routine. Also, if your hair is in really rough shape, try a nighttime repairing serum like Ted Gibson Goodnite Hair Serum. Its amino acids bond to the damaged parts of the hair shaft, literally filling them in to strengthen them. You'll have sleek, shiny locks in no time!

PROBLEM: Greasy Locks
Oily summer skin is bad enough ... no need to have greaseball hair to match. Keep your tresses looking fresh and clean with a dry shampoo, a spray or powder formula that works without any water at all. (It was all the rage during fashion week this season!) One of the best ones out there? Oscar Blandi's Pronto Spray, which contains natural rice, oat and tapioca starches that nourish your scalp, all the while sopping up excess oil and goopy product build-up. But if you're worrying that your hair might still smell dirty (ew), spray on some Jonathan Redo Freshen-Up Mist to neutralize any not-so-fresh odor. Voila! Non-greasy, nice-smelling tresses ... without the big shower and style headache!

hey tyra, well i just started 8th grade and you now how bad 8th grade girls can get. I live in Connecticut, so it can get really humid. So I usually straighten or occasionally curl my hair and it looks great right up until I step out the door. And when I do I just get frizz and if my hair is straightened it just gets curly and poofy. I really need an inexpensive product that will work well and one that I can get at CVS. I have already tried the Garnier Sleek and Shine product and that didn't work. Please help!!! Thanx! Luv ya, Bridget

Dear Tyra- I have naturally curly hair and everytime I look for a hair style, it's either kinky hair, or what the professionals think is curly which is really wavy. I am 26 and have had the same style for as long as I can remember. I have written into Cosmo previously, asking them to please publish something with CURLY hair not KINKY or WAVY. You are my last hope. Please help!
