Angelica RosasLast Friday, after starting my morning with back-to-back meetings, I returned to my desk to find an e-mail message from the Vice President. As I opened it, I held my breath and hoped for the best. Well, I got my wish. The email revealed the Daytime Emmys were happening in five hours, there was an extra ticket and I was invited to join the party!

I did a little celebratory dance in my chair... then reality struck: I had five hours to finish my work on deadlines, get my hair and makeup done -- and drive through L.A. traffic to the venue. Was I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, what to wear?! I needed a dress, which also meant I needed time to shave my legs. It's hard enough finding a fabulous gown to wear for such an occasion, even with weeks to spare, but when you're a size 16... it might be easier to find an Emmy! Undaunted, I finished my work and headed to the mall.

Four hours to go and I'm running through department stores like... a woman who needs a dress. I hit up four high-end stores, with the perfect excuse for "price is no object," hoping to find something amazing in a size 16, leaving me with the proverbial and literal fat chance. The largest size they had was an 8. Not even a size 10 to give me the momentary illusion that I might hold my breath, skip dinner and have a quickie liposuction somewhere in the mall. One lovely woman at a store which shall remain nameless actually said, "I might have a granny-style dress that will fit you." If I'd had a cane she'd be permanently wearing it.

Dejected, I headed toward my favorite store, Macy's. I don't know why I didn't go there first; I always find things that fit well, look professional and result in a lot of compliments. I just thought the more expensive stores would have something appropriately fierce. Time was running out. I ran into Macy's and it hit me... a stunning, green Adrianna Papell Grecian gown... it reminded me of something I'd seen J.Lo wearing on the red carpet. I grabbed a size 16 off the rack (and a 14 and 18 just to be safe). Things got even better as I tried on the size 14 first -- and it fit perfectly! And in a leprechaun-like bonus, it was on sale! Double score!

I had my makeup applied at the store counter, bought a purse, picked up some earrings and ran out the door just in time to get myself to the red carpet in time. I didn't have time to buy shoes, so I wore flip-flops, which were hidden under my long dress, along with my unshaven legs.

The good luck streak continued -- as Tyra won the Emmy for Best Informative Talk Show!

My fashion secret is out! Now tell me yours! Where do you go in a plus-sized fashion emergency?!

P.S. Tyra I love you and your show. I love your outlook on positive body image and I love how you inspire girls to embrace their bodies and love themselves. I hope to have the same positive impact on many young girls like you have when I get older because I believe self- empowerment and self- love is very important. And one day I hope to be on your show advocating this cause.

I'm 17, 5'4", and have the measurements 39-33-41. With such "great measurements" and a "perfect figure" as a costume designer once told me, it still takes me forever to find great clothing, especially formal wear. I too stand by Macy's when it comes to finding dresses. I recently had a ballroom dance competition and instead of waisting my time with a costume designer that was so expensive and still could not design a dress to fit my body, I bought a simple black cocktail dress in the style I was going to get my costume made and wore it to the competition. it worked out well for me the judges weren't destracted by sequins or glitter, they were focused on my performance and I took home first place awards in both of my categories. I felt confident in what I wore and with myself and it was reflected in my performance. I don't know my size exactly I just know what fits me so I treat the tags as indicators for my size range then I know what may fit me. And I've come to find out what styles look great on my body in particular and not trends that other people wear that I expect to look good on me, but may not.

I'm not a plus size girl but my mother is... And The stores that I know that are so great ranging from a 10 to a 32... Lane Bryant and Torrid... They have very cool street fashion and formal wear...

I am really happy ot hear that Macy's might have something. I am a size 24 after my first child. I am 20 years old. My husband and i have been trying to lose the weight to get into better clothes. It just makes me happy to hear that there are more mainstream store offering sizes that a few years ago were not on the racks. Thanks!

I am 12 years old, and i am a proud full figured girl!! I love my curves, and my booty!! LOL.Sometimes its rough when i go shopping, and when i see my skinnier friends. But honestly i like myself better big, and i couldn't imagine it any other way! Some of my friends are a bit jealous because i've got a butt and a bigger chest than them, they try to discourage me but nothing's bringing me down!!!! love, madeline

i am 5'9 and wear anything from a siz 11 to a 14 depending on the desighner and yes it does get very frustrating when you can't just go in to a store and pick up "your size" knowing they will fit, exspecially when plus size is to big for you but the other is too small...intead you have to grab 3 or 4 different sizes and then go try them . There is a show on tlc called "what not to wear" that i think every girl should watch, not only does it give great fashion tips but it teaches you that it doesn't matter what size you are because clothes are not made for the average woman who is a size 12/14. if the size bothers you that much but the pants fit great cut out the tag, and also who cares what size you are, as long as you are comfortable in your own skin and enjoy what you are wearing, they make all kinds of clothes for woman of all sizes you just have to look in the right store...macy's, walmart, target, kohl's, those are all stores that have all sizes and shapes that i shop at. by the way tyra i absolutly love you and your show....

WELL I HAVE 3 KIDS AND IM A SIZE 13-14 DEPENDING THE TYPE OF PANTS LOL..I ALWAYS HAD BIG HIPS AND A NICE SIZE BUTT :) I WAS WARING A SIZE 12 WHEN I WAS 14 AND PRETY MUCH STAYED THERE. KNOW AFTER HAVING MY KIDS ITS HARD TO FIND A PAIR OF PANTS IN MY SIZE. I USALLY END UP TRYNG THAT SIZE 12 JUST THINKING MAYBE JUST MAYBE BUT IT DOSENT WORK AT THE END I FIND MYSELF GOING THOUGH ALL THE STORES IN THE MALL AND END RIGHT BACK WERE I STARTING TRYING TO FIND MY SIZE, RRRRR! ITS JUST SO FUSTRATING I JUST WISH IT WAS MUCH EASIER:/

I'm a full figured girl but I'm only 13 and sometimes my weight goes up and down so my size can range anywhere from a 15 to an 18. It's hard for us big girls out there,so to all my big girls when some one calls you fat just say thank you and remember they called you PHAT (Pretty Hot And Thick).
